Transfer Rumour Willis Or McDonald To Blues? (1 Viewer)

Do you really? I've thought the opposite, that we've sat so deep it's been barely utilised. Hardly been a game this season that I've not wanted us to be 10 yards higher in the first half to push our midfield closer to the strikers. Can't think of many times where he's had to get back and put in a last ditch tackle to stop a 1 on 1 or that teams tactics have been to get in behind our back line - almost everyone in this division is playing the ball into 2 big strikers.

I have to agree, and were gonna face more and more direct play that we don't need Willis pace for and that's his main strength.

Alwaya someone happy to sell players.

No we nees to keep willis. He has bee a starter all season. If davies was better robins would play him aheas of willis.

He might be good. But we need more thsn just 2 good cbs

Lets not sabotage promotion chances

Davies has been unlucky not to start more games but you couldn't drop Willis as he was paying well and was the pairing with Mcdonald from very early on in the season. Davies come in and shown what he can do when MR was forced to move Willis out wide.

Davies is a better player facing the ball, in the air and man marking, just. Sides are gonna be very very long ball in the next few weeks and direct so it suits Davies more than Willis.

If blues are interested like the whispers say it might be very appealing to Willis. A footballers career is very short, personally we'd be foolish not to cash in if a "good" offer came in and was guaranteed for Robins to use.

I feel Robins is best placed out of the last few managers to get that assurance.

Never happy to sell decent players, but a realist enough to know that, that is what we will probably need to do.

Nathan Clarke although was slow put his head on everything and lead the line. Something we'd missed for 23 long games when he came in. As his time went on his performances slid and was clear his career was on the slide but his leadership made Burge more composed and generally we looked more organised than we was.

I do like 1980's style centre back very true as I think they fit the mould of player required for the vast amounts of a season in L2. Davies is very similar to that type of player but more comfortable with the ball at his feet.

L2 is like rolling back the years before the money of the premier league. Muddy pitches and dominating strong players who get stuck in and bully play.

I'm a believer in building for tomorrow but you gotta look after today too!
Don't loose sight of what's happening now in search of the long term success.

Clarke looked on the surface to be a good player. Don't remember anyone moaning when we got him. He came with good pedigree and seemed like exactly what we needed.

When he actually played though you could see he had lost a yard of pace of anything he previously had and it cost us, as quick players were turning him far too easily.

I believe he can help us yes, by being sold tho only if the money reinvested in attacking wide players to cover the gaps left by JJ and Andreu.
So have to disagree I'm afraid... we've able back up in that area so Willis as good as he's been is disposable. He's not been without fault still this season still.

It really depends on what's done if he goes, while I think we have adequate cover if it is going to help us in other positions I wouldn't be overly bothered.

Would he slot into a Championship team?

We have the best defensive record in football league and you believe oir ever present starter defender is disposable?

Ok

If we are talking 500k i get you but lets be honest it wont be near that.

Personally I'd say no, depends on if they want him as back up and develop. He didn't shine in L1 last year tho had poor players with him last season and missed the year before. Has the pace to play higher but needs a lot of improvement over 90 mins to play higher.

Your easily talking a minimum of 350k up to 500k. He's only contracted till 2019 and can walk away for nothing then.

I am not sure we would get that much

In any case bo guarantee we get to spend it with sisu. Our current squad good enuff for top 7 abd flirt with top 3. Rather keep it same and add 1 or 2 loans than sell a key piece and try buy 3 or 4

If it is 500k its not worth selling at this point if we get promoted his value would rise being a league 1 player

If the club's hierarchy deem it necessary for yet another a player to be sold in order to break even this season then Willis will be sold. Whether it's worth it in our eyes or not is irrelevant.

I think we have enough cover to lose one of these to be honest and it shouldnt impact promotion chances too much.

I'd rather keep hold of McDonald myself if we had a choice...not that we do!
