I've just seen this again in the scores on the door thread ref Eccles - Sorry Shmmeee, yours only the most recent so not a pop at you.
I've seen it levelled at Shipley, Bayliss, Westbrooke among others and I don't think they're necessarily to blame.
They all put in hard work, run around and harass the ball and them make mistakes or pass backwards rather than the old dive in approach. It seems they rarely go to ground and strong tackles a thing of the past.
Is it because of how readily refs dish out yellow or even red cards for reckless tackles, are there stats or examples of other teams doing similar that back up the philosophy? It seems odd that all our young guys are the same, so I guess the question should be is it the modern way, is it the coaching or is it something MR has instilled in the way he wants to play?
