The advantage of the Eton boating song is we always sing it unaccompanied and its sung any time during the game . The Enemy song doesn't happen without the tannoy.
There's never been an outbreak of " we'll live and die in these towns" just for the hell of it.
Well if the fans can get it going spontaneously then it's got legs but I'm not sure it's going to happen. Great before kick off though. There was at Darmstadt away.
Twist and Shout not being our own needs to be dropped. It's been sung for generations now.
West Ham never really sing it. Certainly not like us.
Why would other clubs mimick The Enemy?

There's never been an outbreak of " we'll live and die in these towns" just for the hell of it, unless it was last Friday when I wasn't there !
Because it's a universal song. It's not about Coventry.
It says, We live and die in these towns
Not this town, this city or Coventry
Football fans have a long history of adopting good songs.
As others have said, I personally love WLADITT as an anthem, it's got to be up there as one of the best in the country. You look at Liverpool and "You'll Never Walk Alone" as the benchmark, but you ask yourself, why is it that special? I mean, it's a song from an American musical, which happened to be covered by Gerry and the Pacemakers, the song itself has little to no connection to the city of Liverpool itself (unless someone can point out any ignorance?).
It's seen as special because of the passion of the Liverpool supporters who sing it, and I commend them for that, but the CBS can be close to or maybe even as passionate, whilst singing a song pretty much directly about the city they represent, sung by a, pretty much, Coventry band. It's absolutely brilliant in my view. The song just resonates with the people of Coventry, "yeah, it's a bit of a shithole, but it's our shithole", with the risk of adoption by clubs of cities/towns with similar backgrounds, but it can only truly be claimed by our club.
Well Bolton are making a good fist of it.Spot on.
It won't be copied. It's not like other generic songs that even we copy.
Well Bolton are making a good fist of it.
What would be your preference then, are we talking Jeremy levels of dissatisfaction or Nigel's, Reese mogg or Boris on the other side?
Yep whole game sorry you missed itThe advantage of the Eton boating song is we always sing it unaccompanied and its sung any time during the game . The Enemy song doesn't happen without the tannoy.

I'll see you, and raise you.The song is more Coventry than any other song.
Wtf is that ?I'll see you, and raise you.
A song that is "more Coventry than any other song" especially one from a Brummy singing about a townWtf is that ?
Not as good as Alan Randall's rendition .A song that is "more Coventry than any other song" especially one from a Brummy singing about a town
i know them, it's notWorth listening to any long form interview or podcast with Tom Clarke.
It's about Coventry and those similar towns/cities. It's written by lads at a time when they were living in Coventry.
Parts of the music video are filmed in Coventry. The song is more Coventry than any other song.
Not as good as Alan Randall's rendition .
i know them, it's not
what Tom says and is the truth are not the same thing sometimes
it's written deliberately to be as generic in location as possible so anyone can see it as about their "town"
it's that's entertainment but set in the mid 00's

Christ I remember that. It even has HR in there.I'll see you, and raise you.
SOTV !!I love the song Villa come out to it whips the atmosphere up - well I assume they still play it
You missed King and the PrimitivesLets throw in some local connections.
2468 Motorway was written by a bloke from Nuneaton. The non Fairbass member of Right Said Fred was from Nuneaton. Actually, either or one of those my have been from Beduth, can't exactly remember. A Message To You Rudi was covered by the Specials.
Take your pick from all of the Specials, Special AKA, Selecter, Sorrows, Indian Summer, Vince Hill, Delia Derbyshire, Frank Ifield, The Enemy, Lieutenant Pigeon and The Swinging Cats. One of The Style Council and a member of Badfinger were from Cov. A member of the Beatmasters is from Coventry and co wrote all their hits.
Got to be another tune from that lot.
Youngsters won’t know that one would they? Might be worth introducing it to them after a win. That would have gone down a treat on Friday, last minute winner then the specials!!Also think a The specials guns of naverone should be sung after a goal rather than that generic thing loads of teams fans do. Tried it once on my own after a goal … didn’t catch on
