It was clearly a mistake sending him on loan to Tranmere - something that at the time raised a lot of eyebrows - and he probably would've been better suited being sent to a League Two or perhaps National League club.
Personally I think the boat has sailed for Ponti at CCFC. But I do think that if he landed at a club at either level mentioned above he'd score goals. So, I certainly think it would be in our interest to send him out on loan to a lower league club (at a more realistic level) in order to potentially capitalise on his value by selling him on if he finds success. Similar to what Rotherham has done with Jerry Yates. It would be good business and we literally have nothing to lose by not doing this.
