I won the bet and you know it.I will when you pay that charity bet. You know the one about you going to all these games
Amazing you become an expert on threads like this.
There's more chance of us winning the league than that...I won the bet and you know it.
Not trying to be an expert just repeating what was said in that interview listen and learn might do you good
Just listening now, its Simon Gilbert who said it. The whole piece on CWR is a waste of time to be honest as its centred around planning which is not the stage we're at. Its a council PR piece fed to Gilbert and he's gone with it rather then fire back the relevant questions about a forward contract. From the bloke interviewed tonight on CWR just after 5 Andrew something, find out for your fucking self on listen again you might learn something I’m sure someone on here will.
Well that's nice and vague. "Planning conditions on the site currently limit its use for educational purposes" thrown in by the Telegraph at the end after loads of quotes for the council about using it for all sorts of things including housing! It was also mentioned back in 2016 when Fisher first announced an interest in the site as a new base for the training ground and academy.
CCFC consider Woodlands school site as possible home for Academy
I've just listened to it, it was Gilbert that said the site was restricted to educational use.It wasn’t Simon Gilbert it was the Council director of planning name Andrew Wolstrum or something like that. On the Phil Upton program just after the 5 o’clock news
They're making out it's a special case rather than just like any other property that has permissions for certain usesJust listening now, its Simon Gilbert who said it. No mention of any such restriction in any of the documentation regarding potential future uses for the site on the council website either.
And of course Powerleague have a 30 year lease there, pretty sure that's not educational use.
They leaked it and are trying to play it down as much as they can. They're making out it's a special case rather than just like any other property that has permissions for certain uses
Haha, I'd laugh if that was it. 'Its a school it has to be used for education'.They're making out it's a special case rather than just like any other property that has permissions for certain uses
Personally I wouldn't just sit back and wait 5 years as I've said earlier in this thread. I would suggest the council put a time limited forward contract in place, exactly as they have done for Wasps, that requires SISU to submit and get approval for a planning application in a specific timeframe. I would then suggest the EFL puts down markers as to what progress is required by a particular dates.
If and when the council stop delaying things and allow this to proceed pretty quickly SISU have to start spending big chunks of cash. Are they really going to do that if they have no intention of building a stadium.
For me its a win - win situation. Either we get a new stadium or SISU have to admit they are full of shit and we draw a line under the pretence there will be a new stadium. And while we are going through that process we stay at the Ricoh rather than moving out of the city. Works whatever way you look at it.
Welcome to the site HaroldYou talk a lot of sense.
Personally I think they have picked this site intentionally. They want the council to drag it out as long as possible.
Even if the council don't drag it out. It will be a nightmare site to get through.
The longer it drags out the better.
It's to justify moving away, it's to squeeze Wasps. It's still all about the Ricoh.
We the fans just get shafted again whilst SISU try and get the Ricoh by force. It won't work unfortunately. There will be another shock variable that hasn't been calculated, that Wasps will do and we will get stuck at where ever we go for years to come. Ironically it will be us that ends up under financial pressure.
Just wish Wasps, SISU and the council could go for a beer and sort it all out. Without trying to screw each other over, some sort of joint venture properly paid for.
ThanksWelcome to the site Harold

I for one think harry is a valued new member of the forum who definitely has the club's best interests at heart, just wants to present the facts and in o way has an ulterior motive.
I'm glad they got here just in time. We should be grateful. You mean it's a massive co-incidence somebody well informed signed up yesterday just to comment on it?
I agree about the worries for us. My big fear is we open Pandora's Box, and we either end up merging with whoever we share with, or sodding off to somewhere like Belfast. You talk a lot of sense.

Not Belfast, a nice warm climate with cheap flights please.I agree about the worries for us. My big fear is we open Pandora's Box, and we either end up merging with whoever we share with, or sodding off to somewhere like Belfast.
Oblivion may end up the most palatable option!
Brexit will do for that! Not Belfast, a nice warm climate with cheap flights please.
We once had the same kit as malaga?
Project fear.Brexit will do for that!

Agree that you cant compare now to even the 70s and 80s when Masseys and Wickmans were there. However, they've been building the 'eastern green' estate since the 50s. Most of the houses from hockley lane across Sutton Ave and up to the woodlands were built in the 50s and early 60s.
Sisu yet to respond. We are still waiting on the council to respond over a week on.
The councils PR team are really not very good are they.
"What do you mean you let Duggins speak?"“Hello, is that Martin at Weber Shandwick? Could do with your help again, think we’ve made a bit of a mess”
This is the council's response.....
Gilbert should ask them what the meeting was about a couple of weeks ago.
