No, I just mean this woodlands thing is the response from the council to everything.Did the response mention Duggins emails and so on ?
I don't know about the regulatory aspect of it but they're not traded like you say....One thing - people have said that they wouldn’t be surprised if one of Richardson’s companies held a significant number of the retail bonds available. My knowledge on the trading markets is (very) limited, but just thinking out loud, would that not sail very close to an insider trading angle? Wouldn’t another Richardson company have access to non-public material? Or is that ok as long as the bonds aren’t actually traded?
Funny that I have already mentioned what could be done.Screw putting in a full planning application with experts devising a transport plan. LAST and Magwitch have decided its not possible.
Bet they'll be popular at the council. Shouldn't they all be keeping to the same story?Has this already been posted....
Woodlands Academy - Statement from Woodlands Ward Cllrs Peter Male, Gary Ridley and Julia Lepoidevin
We are aware of media reports linking Woodlands Academy to a new stadium development driven by CCFC owners SISU. At this stage, it’s important to recognise that no planning application has yet been made and as far as we are aware no offer has been made to purchase the land from the Council.
If an application is received the Council will need to deal with any application fairly, however we would be deeply concerned by the idea for a number of reasons. The local area does not have the infrastructure to support a football stadium and the scale of the project would not be suitable for the site in question.
Since the Woodlands Academy closed it has been our objective to see the site returned to use as an educational facility as soon as possible. Therefore, we support the plans brought forward by the Council recently to open a new school on the site which must go ahead.
The Woodlands Academy site is there to educate our city’s children and that’s how it must stay.

Going off that tweet Gilbert has fallen for the council PR line and failed to ask them any relevant questions. Why are they talking about the planning process when that's not the stage this is out? Should be talking about the council granting the club a forward contract on the site as they have done for Wasps with car park C at the Ricoh. This is the council's response.....
Gilbert should ask them what the meeting was about a couple of weeks ago.

That is obvious now. Also it is clear that if SISU wanted to pick a site that would receive serious opposition to stretch out the planning process they could hardly have chosen better.I didn't know Gary Ridley was a Woodlands Ward councillor. As leader of the Tory opposition group on CCC, he has been co-signing most of the press releases along with Duggins. Unusual to have consensus across the party divide, so i wonder if he has known about the impact on his ward for some time ...!!
The listed buildings is a red hearing, you've already indicated yourself that a stadium can fit on site without touching the existing buildings and leaving loads more space.More info about grade II listed buildings (IMHO Historic England are mad).
Actually we are not certain about what part of the land is being taked about & don't forget substantial on site parking would be needed. The listed buildings is a red hearing, you've already indicated yourself that a stadium can fit on site without touching the existing buildings and leaving loads more space.
You think the field might be a listed building?Actually we are not certain about what part of the land is being taked about.
Sure, and you're a red herring. You think the field might be a listed building?
You should let SISU know where this site is you know of that they could be a new stadium on with no opposition from residents. That is obvious now. Also it is clear that if SISU wanted to pick a site that would receive serious opposition to stretch out the planning process they could hardly have chosen better.
1) it is very easy to fit a stadium on that site without touching the listed buildingsMore info about grade II listed buildings (IMHO Historic England are mad).
OLDSKYBLUE would piss the election if he stood:joyful:You could do with some of the politically savvy people on here running in an independent group.
They've got that wrong then haven't they. Someone living locally has already stated that its been much better received than they expected and they said the same on CWR yesterday afternoon. It is the level of opposition encountered. For instance Asnsty & Whitley South would be less as industrial zoneing is already established in those areas.
So they pick a well to do area where you might expect locals to mobilise more effectively.

TBF the buildings are pretty old and shitty.A new building in close proximity to a listed building must not adversely affect the character, appearance or setting of the listed building
Not adversely affect the character, appearance or setting of the listed building, have you seen the buildings in question?!?A new building in close proximity to a listed building must not adversely affect the character, appearance or setting of the listed building
1) it is very easy to fit a stadium on that site without touching the listed buildings
2) the type of listing it has is far from difficult to remove

Well 1000s of us signed the opposition letters about housing on Kings hill but it is still going ahead.
Would prefur the New city ground there.
Not sure but is the Windmill area in Cov could get it built there along with the houses need new roads anyway, so wouldn't be an issue?
Seems they have misjudged the mood. Of the 20 comments posted in response to this on their facebook page only 2 agree with their stance.Has this already been posted....

The monstrosity going up near Whitefriars seems to have got away with it!A new building in close proximity to a listed building must not adversely affect the character, appearance or setting of the listed building
For anyone who doesn't know the site, here's an example of one of the listed buildings:
