Glass cemented into the top of brick walls.
A lot of what is being thrown around in this thread could apply to pretty much every stadium under construction. The new Tottenham Stadium, Wimbledon, Everton, Brentford, Luton etc.Curious, could you name any that have been recently built in such a built up residential area as this ?. Access would be shocking
I agree. Can't quite imagine SISU having a feel for supporters' needs, mind you!
Wasn't me who said they could block it. Just after more details than a vague 'it will never be allowed'.The highways agency are not a planning authority
The highways agency wouldn’t allow it full stop
That site is huge and has way more access roads ?. Might be wrong but it certainly feels like that
Woodlands school buildings are not listed either, where that bollocks has come from god only knows. It's being parroted by somebody on Twitter as fact regardless.

I’d back it if SISU are serious. Still have trouble believing it though.
I won't believe it until Tim is there in hard hat and trowel in hand with no clothes on, maybe just some boots not sure yet, ready to lay the first brick.
Think we should all take a back step and come back to reality. First let me say I would love a new ground and one different in shape and design to the Ricoh, but I think there’s more chance of Jeremy Corbyn becoming leader of the tories than a stadium going on the Woodlands site. First there are listed buildings or some sort of wall designs there, second, infrastructure, there’s one road from town, Broad Lane, which also comes from the Berkswell end and another, Banner Lane from a Tile Hill/Canley.
I live not far from the Ricoh it is served by a few different bus services from City Centre, Foleshill, Bedworth, Nuneaton, Holbrooks, Keresley, Bell Green, Walsgrave, Clifford Park, Wyken. There’s one bus that goes down Broad Lane from town and I think the number 10 goes down Upper Eastern Green Lane. Then there’s parking, from the Ricoh there is 2 mile exclusion zone that takes you right up to Riley Square, a long walk, a similar scheme at Woodlands would take it back as far as Hearsall, Earlsdon , Allesley, Allesley Park, Canley, the Warwick Uniy area, that’s a bloody long walk and there’s not the number of industrial sites or little private business sites to park as the is around Longford. theres a few nest Torrington Avenue but again a good walk.?
Then there’s the nimbys to get over. Any on here old enough to remember the super pit that was being talked about to be built behind the then Masseys site in the early 80s ? I worked at MF and I remember the resistance and objections from the locals being huge. Then there’s planning. I know the Ricoh planning went all the way to Government, the Secretary of State, then being John Prescott. I think that’s were the parking stipulation. Could the s.of s. become involved again. Also locally the whole Tory council group voted against planning permission which eventually squeaked through because two Labour councillors got out of their sick bed to vote. Woodlands is rock solid Tory area.
As said earlier I’d welcome a new ground that’s ours and ours alone but can’t see it being on this site.
In fairness to sisu this hasn’t come direct from them.

Good site, just needs a link road to the A45.
I know this is pie in the sky but it would be great to be out of the bowl we're in and build something that works for fans.
Few more pubs needed though.
You might want to sit down as I've got some shocking news for you. There’s one bus that goes down Broad Lane from town and I think the number 10 goes down Upper Eastern Green Lane.
Missed off the word Common, but I suspect you knew thatWhere the fuck is Hearsall?
I've lived in Earlsdon all my life and have no idea where this mythical place is.
There's Ealsdon and next to it are Spon end and Chapelfields.
Of course routes can be changed but the few roads there are to go down can’tYou might want to sit down as I've got some shocking news for you.
Bus routes can be changed. You can even, get this, have special match day bus services. Unbelievable stuff.
No, the local paper is the Echo, (stands for Earlsdon, Chaplefields, Hearsall opinion).Missed off the word Common, but I suspect you knew that
Yep but let’s see how that goesThe cynic in me tells me that it would all just be talk and nothing much would happen and Sisu would just keep us groundsharing for years on end, in the hope that Wasps implode at some point and the Ricoh suddenly comes available and empty again.
Some of Woodlands school is listed? Never knew that
Don't be sorry, I share your negative thoughts. Would love it to be true but IMHO knowing for a year or more that WASPs want the legals dropped, they are covering all bases to convince the EFL they have been trying. Spend a few bob putting out feelers for land. Leaking titbits when its appropriate. I'm having deja vu for some reason. There will be an artists impression soon. Just another tactic to put pressure on the other lot to get a deal at the Ricoh.Got excited for a bit at the thought of a stadium in the city (Good location for me personally). Our own stadium like HR again.(That's my heart talking.)
Now my head has kicked in, I have become very cynical of all parties in this mess. I think in order to convince the EFL to allow a ground share after last time, SISU need to show real signs of action. I think they also need to get more fans behind a groundshare as last time it was a disaster. SISU need to give us more hope than last time and more justification. Unfortunately my head says any talk of a new stadium is for Plan A (The Ricoh). Even if SISU paid a deposit for land, I think they have identified one of the hardest sites to get all the permissions through. I think they are counting on the Council playing right into their hands and delaying everything, which they will probably be stupid enough to do.
I think we will be sharing in Burton or the likes for years to come. I also think JR3 will be about the council not allowing us to build a new stadium.
Sorry if I am far too negative and cynical. If I am putting a dampener on the thread, then I will say no more.

Went to school there. Was in mclauglan. Me Hogarth was the head then
They are not showing on the online portal but further search shows you are right, I stand corrected! The buildings are listed with English Heritage. Grade 2 listed.

Agreed, let’s not forget the EFL want and have confirmed today confirmation as to where we play this August, that should have been the priority announcement today not a wish for stadium in Woodlands in a few years timeThe cynic in me tells me that it would all just be talk and nothing much would happen and Sisu would just keep us groundsharing for years on end, in the hope that Wasps implode at some point and the Ricoh suddenly comes available and empty again.
You can demolish grade 2 buildings with permission from the local authority can't you?The buildings are listed with English Heritage. Grade 2 listed.

I forgot that and I think that presents another obstacle. There are sports pitches there which I believe by law have to be replaced.This.
The site is unsuitable.
Haven't seen anyone mention the fact that it's reopening as a special school next year either.
