However, our league form after the new years day win at Rotherham reads:

Pts 19

This run of form, if replicated over the course of the season, would leave us with 40 points at this stage of the season - BOTTOM OF THE LEAGUE

So for all those optimists looking forward to next season when we have a reduced playing budget, strap up your seat belts

Yes but we have used this season to develop our academy players, SP has a clear policy on developing youth. This season Callum Wilson has developed into a top striker as for other youth players the guy from QPR looked good and Aaron Phillips looks a prospect but can't claim there has been much development of our youth.

Up to Xmas SP had a clear policy/ style of play the last half it was a mish mash with a few games without a recognised striker loan players coming and going, some not actually coming.

When Wilson goes SP will have a job trying to recruit a striker as none of the youth team look capable of stepping up.

But fear not SISU will fund an apppropriate team.

Yes, we have used the season to blood some youngsters through. But who, on this seasons showing, would cope with another, and ideally a more successful campaign next season?

Obviously Callum should (still think he needs another season here before stepping up), I think Willis has done well when he's played (even more recently as LB), but how about the likes of Daniels and Thomas? I don't think they are at the required standard if we want to compete up the top.

Phillips coming in at RB next season IMO will be a good move (for him and us).

Other positions we need to invest in. We need a holding midfielder and a strike partner who will work under Wilson the way Clarke did (and neither Ecclestone or Delphonso are that player IMO).

Otherwise next season could be a struggle

the season went downwards once callum got injured ..then leon decided to leave and the whole team seemed to loose belief once the euphoria of arsenal wore off..

its weird because in pre-season we looked dreadful.. could not believe I was watching the same team for the first 20 games,then just recently we look exactly like we did pre-season again..

just pray we are back at the ricoh as I think that will give them the confidence to push on next year if not we will struggle to stay up as almost certain to have another 10 points deduction if sisu do not win the judicial reveiew

The next nearest is Daniels with 3

Baker will be 32 next season and seems to have fallen out of favour a bit.

Expect Moose and Callum to go and our recruitment strategy post Xmas was shambolic, we are not an attractive prospect, strikers cost money and are in demand

Connor Thomas from what I have seen was very poor, Tranmere away especially, Jordan Willis haven't seen enough of him as don't go to sixfields but can't claim this has been a season of blooding academy players cyrus connor jordan clarke were reasonable established in the previous seasons. Prutton & Robinson loans although necessary seem to conflict with SP's initial policy.

Could it be that bad? We knew in August that season that we were going down. Only a deluded optimist thought we would survive. So if we are that uncompetitive we will probably know at the start of the season that we are in deep shit.

I just mean with the bad run from Christmas. The year before we went down we had a torrid second half of the season. We all knew the only way we had a chance of staying up the following season was by keeping hold of our best players. We didn't. Now has the same feel to it. Unless we hold on to our best players, we have no chance next year.

I can't see the monies owed I believe the CVA 590k you mean, causing another point deduction.

A couple of points I would like to raise and get opinions on is:

1. What if the football league deducted the 15 points that is normal istead of ten then we would be down. That's interesting IMO.

2. It's funny how sisu have or are going to wait till after the JR to conclude the liquidation and pay the 590k. This probably isn't a coincidence. My best guess is they will use im as a bargaining took for best possible deal back to the Ricoh in some shape or form.

Yes the loss of Leon and the attempts to replace him were unlucky.

However I also feel with SP's playing style we need another 8-9 players who are nearly as good as our first 11. Players will tire in the second half of the season.

I think his style is the right one. However if the other 8-9 our going to mostly be our kids then we can expect the same again next season, a mid to low table finish


Attending Sixfields does not prolong our stay at Sixfields. It is in fact one of life's greatest paradox's (well that's not strictly true but if it makes you feel better ........)

The money owed to ACL is sitting with the administrator as part of the purchase when Otium bought the assets in limited.
The liquidation of Limited and Holdings are held up as 'an unknown party' have filed complaints about the liquidation of holdings.

The club will not suffer from more points penalty unless Otium enters administration.

What was unlucky about the Donnelly & Chuba sounds like incompetence of the highest order or more like what happens when you want quality but can't afford and you negotiate a deal that allows a player to return to his parent club for youth games. Slager & Manset not unlucky simply poor judgement.

I'm not being clever with hindsight, in the phone ins on CWR once it was known that Chuba could return for youth games many fans stated this was not good. Also when you are reliant on the loan markets you have instances like Rory D if we spent the leon fee on a replacement then we would be sable to negotiate from a reasonable position of strength rather than giving premiership teams the sob story or the promise that their player will get lots of games. We are a former big club trying to shop at Tesco but with the budget of Aldi.

I don't think that Pressley can take much credit for Wilson as he started the season well and would imagine that it was the academy that made him the player he is. Not sure what work or influence Pressley has with the academy but he will need to pay attention now for next season as we are bringing 11 through.

lets wait and see whether they are serious in keeping him as for Moose and Christie can see them gone, they believe all the hype from there advisers that they can play at a higher level, just as Clarke did.
