Me too. We've all seen Steve Walsh's classic City career, at least.

Seen many a thrashing at Watford. Alleviated by the 7-8 year olds penalty shootout one game, where one team was wearing claret & blue. The stadium announcer couldn't understand why we were all booing that team, and cheering the other one, kept asking us to stop. the kids loved it though! Kept coming up and gesturing when they scored.

And another one (may have been the 5-2?) where Russel Watson was booed off the pitch at half time and scuttled away. Small mercies in dire days. Also remember one being a bank holiday, me parking my car expecting it to be like Cov, where a bank holiday is cheap - it wasn't. Scrabbled around on the floor and boot of my car to find enough change (it was £16.50 I owed or something like that) got to £16 and the bloody machine said it was full and couldn't accept any more coins. Spent ages prowling Watford trying to get cash, as all the shops had shut and the ATMs were broken / rejected me / I was too tight to pay to use one unless I absolutely had to!

Ah tell a lie. I went to Watford the year before.

Probably the worst away day I had was the game against Colchester in 2004 in the FA Cup replay:

Colchester United v Coventry City, 03 February 2004

Me and a mate bunked off sixth form to drive down there for the game in my rubbish J reg Fiesta. No sat nav in sight, so out came the maps and my mate did a decent job of navigating. We got there, parked on Layer Road near the stadium. As a teenager, and a new driver, any random road trip was always fun, and we were in high spirits.

However, the heavens opened and we got drenched queuing to get in. The game was a joke, and I think that we were given free tickets to one of the subsequent games as an apology from the club. Joachim scored our only goal, with Rowan Vine scoring a hat-trick for the hosts.

I seem to remember the toilets being a lean to out the back of the stand, and the stand wasn't much better!

San Antonio, Ibiza 2005 tournament final, 2 - 0 up at half time against QPR when fighting broke out the Spanish Riot Police charged into the crowd batons held high hitting anything that got in their way. Then twat Holloway came onto the pitch early in second half and told the fans to behave. I'm sure a deal was done because QPR scored twice in the second half and we all thought 2-2 was arranged and then QPR scored a winner to finish off a crap night.
Kept well away from the West End that night as hordes of pissed up QPR fans rampaged through San Antonio after the match.

We had a perfectly good goal ruled out for 'offside' too. Would have made it 3-1 to us with 5 mins to go had it stood.

As much as we all remember the good away days from last season, there were 3/4 that were as bad as any.

Morecambe - Cold, wet, low numbers, no atmosphere and a pathetic performance.

Forest Green - Cold, wet (with no roof), not one song sung all game and a dreadful performance.

Accrington - Shocking performance, no atmosphere.

Your description of the Accrington game reminds me of our home tie with them in the 2017/18 season, the community day when they gave out school tickets. We weren't fortunate to have season tickets for that season, so we gratefully accepted four free tickets from my sons reception teacher, one for me, one for each of my boys, and one to try and convince their mum to go with us for her first ever game. She was highly against the idea as she isn't a football fan, but finally persuaded her to go with a combination of me telling her how much she'll enjoy how vocal my children are at the games (my sons were 2 and 5 then, my eldest is a die hard supporter and knows all the songs, players, their squad numbers etc), and my eldest begging her to come.

Got to the game, we all sat there freezing and wet, kids mum looking not best pleased to be there. Then came one of the most boring football games ive ever seen, closely followed by a vow from their mum that she will never go to another game in her life. The game must have been awful because my eldest even asked to go home at half time, this being the lad who refuses to leave a game until he's applauded the players after the match, regardless of whether we won, or got beat 6-2 by Yeovil

I've got a couple from going to Sheffield:

1. I went to Wednesday the day the match was called off after 27 minutes due to the rain (2007).

Met up with some mates in a pub near Hillsborough (up the top of the hill behind that big home fans only place which is close to the ground opposite the park). Got so wet walking to the game that my phone ended up with water damage. Ended up staying around Sheffield drinking all day once the game was called off, missed the last fast train back to Manchester meaning I ended up having to get a taxi back from there to home, cost me a fortune.

2. The other year I went to Bramall Lane to see us throw away a 2 goal in lead against 10 men of Sheff Utd, I think it was Pressley's last game. Anyway, same sketch again, end up drinking round Sheffield and miss my train entirely. £80 for a taxi.

Shame we're not playing either club next season really, I do enjoy a day out there.

Yeah same here, I have some great memories of our games in Sheffield. Ended up in a pub one time with an Alsatian as a bouncer and the floor literally covered in sawdust and to drink there two handwritten signs on the taps, “Strong Lager” and “Extra Strong Lager”. Never seen anything like it since!

For people being cold, when we won 3-1(?) at MK Dons when they played at that hockey stadium. I've never been so cold at a football ground ever. Even when we scored I reckon half of the fans couldn't jump up as they were frozen to the wooden bench type stand we were stood on. Still sends shivers down me when I think of it.

I think that was the coldest I have ever been, not just at a football match.
