Would 1 more promotion sort the club out completely? (1 Viewer)

Once the club is a more saleable asset they will go, as long as they get some money out of it.
Of course they'll go. Anyone that thinks they have a burning desire to own and run a football club and wouldn't leave the second they get what they deem to be an acceptable offer needs to have a rethink.

I suppose the real question is when would that be. If we avoid relegation would we be in a good enough position to attract a high enough valuation? I suppose that will be the next drama, just when we think things are looking comfortable, we'll be up for sale and hoping to avoid owners to run the club into the ground!

This is the opinion of someone who has been in personal meetings with Joy Seppala in the last couple of weeks regarding the supply of certain infrastructure to the proposed new ground. There are more meetings planned (obviously) but the personal beliefs of those in the supply side is that the project won’t actually get under way.
The individual involved was also surprised at how little she seemed to know about Midlands football. (He’s a Villa fan)
Obviously I’m not going to divulge more, so feel totally free to believe it or not, but obviously the business theory is sound.
In mine and marks meetings with her she surprised us with her knowledge of ccfc past and present.

She's probably read a book.
In a recent meeting she kept referring to Aston Villa as "The Aston" for some reason, much to the surprise of the 2 Villa supportes there.
It would appear that her football knowledge is very club specific, which is probably not too surprising as SISU arnt known for being football people.

I can vouch for how much she knows about CCFC football. Outside of that, who knows.

I'd doubt she would reveal a huge amount about future plans to randomers involved in planning for the stadium. Assume others involved who know your mate have been giving some opinions.

As I clearly stated, it was the "opinion" of the individual who met her, this individual has extensive knowledge of construction projects of the size and expense equivalent to a major sporting arena. And as such, he asked all the relevant questions, but said he was taken back by the answers he received, (hence his formed opinions.

Think that’s fair if I’m honest. And to be fair Dave boddy and mark robins should be trusted for all things football. We were just surprised. Similar with a stadium if it’s serious then I think you obtain expert stadium contracting resource. Probably Sisu would just have oversight of the overall project

Spent most of my spare time since January with mark and others trying to get parties to talk to us and to one another my friend
Yep, I know and think that that is great. I just wondered if you know from your various contacts if they are still speaking. If they are there is always hope that somehow all parties will see sense.

Promotio to the Prem would not be the golden ticket that solves all our problems.

Besides, we have to survive first. Trust me, we are in for a long hard season. It will take us at least three seasons to get established at this level. Our recruitment seems good so far - but promotion is not on the horizon yet.

We won’t be promoted and I’m not convinced we’d be allowed to but it would financially resolve many problems

K.4 No Club shall have or enter into a ground-sharing agreement unless the agreement contains a legally enforceable provision to the effect that the playing of the Club's League Matches shall always take precedence over the activities of the other party to the agreement".

My understanding of K4 is that if we committed our future to a dependence on an agreement with Wasps or CCC, they would have us over a barrel simply by denying us such a provision. They would say CCFC are welcome to play at the stadium but they can't expect to dictate that their games will always take precedence over the the activities of the owners (and anything else the council might want to foist on us).

The safest way of not falling foul of this requirement might be to delay our return to the Premier League by the following schedule;

2020/1 Avoid relegation
2021/2 Finish safely in the middle of the bottom half of the Championship
2022/3 Just into the top half of the table
2023/4 10th
2024/5 just miss out on the play-offs, but new stadium near completion
2025/6 Get to the play-offs but not reach the final
2026/7 Get to the play-offs but lose the final. Only to win the 2027 FA Cup on fortieth anniversary of our 1987 success
2027/8 Automatic promotion with the bulk of our Cup winning side intact and still playing in our recently built stadium

Given Robins' achievements so far, the schedule should be fairly easy! Good job we'll have the light railway, as Taxi-drivers will be a thing of the past.

Of course we would be allowed to. The whole integrity of the championship would go out of the window if they kept us down.

I'm sure K4 could be "bypassed" if it were a temporary return to the Ricoh while a new stadium was built.
However I'm somewhat sceptical that the new stadium isn't just a big white elephant.

Not sure i see the finances in such a simple basic way. SISU are an investment business and i cant help thinking that promotion to the Premier League would first and foremost allow them to maximise that investment return. The owners first priority has always been been their investment return, i have no reason to think that will change

I dont see how such a promotion allows for the increased costs, tranfer fees, repayment of the loans & interest, the building of a stadium and the revenue investment return. There is a lot to cover

The Premier League money is not as i understand it front loaded so to invest in players someone has to bridge at least short term the funding gap. Much of the matchday income isnt front loaded either.

Also there are £64m preference shares in Otium accruing dividends at 15% per annum. The shareholders could waive their right to that but if they want a return on their investment. There has been no distribution since the shares taken out in 2015 so in theory there is a large accumulated accrued amount

The financial pluses are there but not to the extent some other posters express i fear
