To be honest with I don't think hardly any. I thought the same about Cov Rugby club as well. However I can't see how someone who thinks wasps coming will have a massive impact on CRFC wouldn't think the same about CCFC arriving in Nuneaton.
It's a bit different as Nuneaton fans have always been close to a professional league football club and made the choice to support Nuneaton and not Coventry. Whereas Local Rugby fans have never had the choice to make as Wasps were 80 miles away.

I doubt it would steal many if any of Nuneaton fans in the short term, but what say in 20 years time? Over time would you see a slow dwindling of Nuneaton fan base as their new fans decide to follow Coventry instead, it's hard to say?

I would go to a stadium in Nuneaton at least initially but it will be a disaster for the club based on this thread, I also thing long term rental would resign the club to L1 for the foreseeable future for the club. We either need to build in Coventry or get a stake in the Ricoh, neither of which seem likely.

I'm looking forward to the day that sisu actually leave and the ones defending Wasps and CCC actually turn on them when they realise the club has been well and truly screwed.

Sorry but it's a No from me as well about had enough now.

Not enjoying this season at all the football is rubbish, haven't seen a decent team yet getting rather boring now.

It is becoming a chore to go to watch rubbish football in a rubbish league with no chance of getting out of it.
says it ll when Pressley announced that Fleetwood have a bigger budget then us.

Fleetwood have got a very wealthy benefactor.

Cov's budget is only going to be as good as its support. The people of Coventry are generally a load of band wagon jumpers, look at Wasps tomorrow.

The majority of Coventry fans just want us to try the boom and bust approach like Portsmouth, they don't care about long term stability or being sustainable.

The majority of our support are cap doffing, bandwagon jumping cretins. They expect someone to pump money into the club and then leave quietly when their money runs out. Being successful is the main condition of them supporting the club, just look at how many are going to see Wasps as they are in the top flight. Even the supposed fans' representatives are cosying up to them and going to watch them. Wasn't it their leader who said he cares about their being top-flight rugby in Coventry. They sum up our club and support- an utter joke.

I'd be more concerned about being able to write in your native language properly if I were you.

It's a combination of our owners, previous owners, CCC & our apathetic fans.

My eyes are wide open to the real shit we have been dumped in, the idiots are those who think that signing up to being underlings at the Ricoh is the solution.

Yes, clearly they are. The majority welcomed a hedge fund with open arms and shouted down others who aired caution. Then they want a franchise rugby club to take us over. Some over cretins even wanted to franchise a local non-league club and move them to the Ricoh and kick out CCFC.

You have to think a few steps ahead on that last suggestion. One day you will catch up and work it out I am sure.

Unfortunately it was wasps who took the place of Nuneaton and by the time SISU took the threat seriously and rushed us back it was past the point of no return.

Not a solution.

Unfortunately its the only solution.

Other than new Owners. However apparently that's not happening.

If you have a different solution please put it forward with an explanation of how it is viable?

There is none which is why I'm so depressed about the situation, which is why I don't understand those welcoming and defending the Wasps move, which is why I don't understand the Coventry fans who go today. We either build a stadium in Coventry or get a stake in the Ricoh, neither of which seem likely. I'd be absolutely delighted is SISU sold the club but that isn't likely either.

Good to know how few of our supposed fans care about the massive glass ceiling that has now been placed upon us. There is now no hope of us ever owning the Ricoh. We're this City's second sport team now because a rugby club from London has moved in and no one cares. But that's fine because most of you have suddenly discovered that you're all massive rugby fans despite the mediocre attendances that CRFC have been getting for years. Spurs need a ground to play in for a few seasons when they move out of White Hart Lane, maybe we can get them to play at the Ricoh. Our fans would flock to the games so they could watch some "first class football". Wonder how many that protested our move to Sixfields are there today, and I wonder how many were there yesterday.

90% of ticket sales are from people who haven't bought a Wasps ticket in the last 5 years.

CRFC get good attendances for their level. They are the best supported team in that division.

I am not defending them - unless stating the obvious is defending them. I don't care about them, but if they are getting on with life, why not? I care about us, and I notice you didn't refer to points about CCFC in my post. Are you obsessed with Wasps?

No. NO. No. No. Have fun with your Franchise club and say hello to the Nuneaton lads for me - that is before you get a brick in the head. I don't think CCFC will be welcomed with open arms in someone else's footballing town. Do you?

Unfortunately living on the south coast it is hard for me to attend but I would say I have found the Trust reaction to the Wasps takeover of the Ricoh very very poor. And that's coming from someone who has repeatedly defended them in the past. Aside from one open letter to the council, which I don't think received a response, the impression the trust is giving is that they are very welcoming of Wasps.

Whilst Steve may not post as chairman on here it certainly doesn't help change that view when he's seems to be falling over himself rushing to welcome them with open arms at the same time saying he won't go to any new stadium that is not within the boundary of the city!

I've never had a brick in the head going to watch us play at Nuneaton, would they really get that worked up about it? If they did have objections then that would certainly be something to be considered and people would have to adjust their view accordingly.

I can't imagine us moving a couple of miles down the road having a huge impact on Bedworth or Nuneaton's attendances but if either club were to object then that would have to be taken on board. And that's a key difference, our potential move to Bermuda would allow for a consultation period with the opportunity for people to object. CRFC didn't get that with Wasps being dropped in the way there were.

Wasn't there talk a while back that NT were looking to leave Liberty Way or was that just speculation on here? If so they may even consider a ground share, stranger things have happened! Not sure their fans would be up for playing a CCFC branded ground the same as I don't want us playing in a Wasps branded ground.

What does "taken on board" mean? A bit like with us before Northampton? Would put my money on it that "taken on board" means nothing.

It was a bit of a strange comment really from somebody who spends a fair bit of time defending teams being moved here? I would have thought it without be best for nuneaton and bedworth anyway?

Some cretins would even support a Franchise league 1 club parachuted into Nuneaton..... I support a league 1 club as it is now - it's called Coventry and it plays in Coventry. I hope it stays that way and that Fisher's stadium fails - should it ever happen ( which it won't ).
