A couple or three times a season maybe and only to get home. Simply because a couple or maybe three times a season we'll make a night of it after the game and hit the casino after for a couple of hours before returning back to Rugby by train for the rest of the night out. We always get a lift over so it's just the home leg.

Yep:Tomorrow me and son are traveling for the game and then straight back home afterwards.
Quite often the Mrs tags along and we stay in the city centre,would definitely use it on
these occasions.
Really find the station debacle hard to believe,don't think it would of happened
in any other city TBH.

No point for me, I use the Sky blue Express much more convenient.

No point costs me about 40p return in the car as I pay per mile and have free parking.

Virgin Trains used to run Southampton Airport to Cov. Was pretty handy, easy to park at the airport and if you booked early enough it was nice and cheap. Then someone else took over the franchise and its getting on for £100 return!

The problem appears to be the attitude of these bloody private operators.
They suggest they are successful and prices are fair /reasonable as they pitch their prices at just about the level of an individual in a motors expenses.
Without providing any savings from economies of scale.
Not withstanding rail travel along with Energy are used as a tax revenue vehicle, be that VAT but more importantly and recently, inflated prices to cover future investment and improvements. Wankers!!

I would use it from time to time, if the service existed I would possibly drink around town before / after matches. It would make travelling to matches by train more convenient.

need to get into ticket splitting - brings it down to around 65 (same train just 3 tickets probably splitting in reading and banbury)

Living in a Warwickshire village, public transport to and from Ricoh is not doable

Yup same as.

Maybe Cov could start to target schools in a wider area once the train service was in operation as well. Banbury has no local league side within about 30 miles (Cov, Oxford, Northampton), so it's the teams they see on tv that all the kids support. Fortunately, my boy has got the bug after going to only a few games and got the full Cov kit for xmas

"whit's the closest big team?" says I

"Coventry City"



and i became hooked ........... now why couldnt we have moved near feckin Manchester!!

Would use it every game. From Bermuda Park to Ricoh and back. When the law for units of alcohol and driving are changed the train would be my 1St choice after a beer
