Sorry, can't agree. When we play Chaplin and Hiwula together we play on the floor more rather than long balls we can't make anything of, we control the tempo more. Bring JCH on with 30 to go to bully tired defenders. Let Chaplin be comfortable staying further up the field to latch on to through balls, chase opportunistic long balls and flick ons.
I see your point but we still went long yesterday Hyam constantly hitting long high balls mate.

Keep the team unchanged, or failing that, bring Doyle in the middle for Westbrook and push Bayliss out wide. JCH has been playing v well off the bench so is worth considering for a start, but keep Chaplin and Hiwula upfront for now. I fancy us for a win in this one given our good form v Wycombe for the last 2-3 seasons or so.

Probably another 1-0. But, I'd love for us to put a few goals past these and especially want Hiwula and Chaplin to score.

You have to vary things mate and what you call a long ball, just hopeful punts up field are no good admittedly but delivered accurately they are okay, I thought Hyam passing was okay yesterday.

I think I would line up like this but doubt it will happen.

Burge GK
Mason LB
Sterling RB
Willis CB
Hyam CB
Baylis RM
Chaplin LM
Doyle CM
Kelly CM
JCH ST
Hiwula ST

Subs: Addai, Davies, Brown, Westbrooke, Shipley, Allesani, McCallum

After watching Arsenals display yesterday I wouldn't rule it out.
Quite possibly could happen if he picks a weakened team. Most league 1 teams would fancy themselves against Premier league reserves at home, and Arsenal would probably be near the top of the wish list. Having said that, I hope Arsenal go through as we don't need disruption to our fixtures.

Aimless balls into the Channels were a few too many for me rather see us retain position don’t get me wrong I rate Hyam just would like to see a few less of them long punts.

Whilst nobody likes an aimless punt, with the time of year, and the pitch cutting up due to the egg chasers, I get really twitchy when we try to pass it around the back - it looks like an accident waiting to happen on an increasingly bobbly pitch. Doesn't help 'quality football'. but I'd prefer the 'safe' ball every time, particularly near the centre halves position (one stumble away from a goalscoring chance)

looking for 3 points from these, then we have the bottom 3 teams to play, all winnable games, at the end of Jan we could be back in the playoffs. PUSB

There will be changes. Almost guaranteed. Games come thick and fast around Christmas and managers nearly always change one or two players over the festive period.

Would expect Thomas to be back in (Robins said he thinks he is okay for Tuesday).

So, Thomas for Westbrooke.

The Shipley injury didn't look good, so assume he's out too.

I went to Wycombe last year when the game was played in the middle of the “ Beast from the East “ period and was the second coldest I have ever been at a football match (first place goes to Wimbledon at the hockey stadium in MK). The current mild weather is spring like in comparison.
I think we have won the last 5 games we have played against these, (it may even be more than that). All runs have to come to an end some time so even though I think we are a far better team than them, I don’t think a draw would be too bad. It is hard to think of a more negative performance than Wycombe gave at the Ricoh. They were time wasting from the start. It would have been a travesty if we had not won that game. Presumably they will come out a bit more at their place.

Quite funny all the chav cov fans that said davies our best cb judt cos hes big and strong and now he csnt get in team lol

Don't get me wrong I think he's very good and a cult hero at times but just shows why my posts should be taken more seriously than chav posters as I am a real student of the game not just hoof ball.
Entertaining stuff, my good man.

Does anyone know what the situation is for those who didn’t contact the ticket office before 4.30 on Friday? Saw it late last night and emailed the club but not heard back. Will give them a call tomorrow, but just wondering if it would be like usual where tickets go on the coach ready to be collected at Adams Park, their wording was slightly strange/concerning

I hear ya mate but I think we should be good enough at league 1 to retain possession rather than give it back and invite more pressure.

His long passing was excellent yesterday most of the time
Depends what you class as excellent fed into the chanels or upto a 5”6 striker to me is not excellent retaining possession for me is how we should be playing.I rate Hyam just think them long balls could be fed into players feet.

Same as that squire-think there was 1100 sold with an allocation of 1800 last I heard. Hopefully more will pay on the gate after the 2 victories as 1100 is fairly poor for me.

If Thomas and Shipley are out which they probably are we should maybe do this:
Burge
Willis Davies Hyam
Sterling Doyle Kelly Mason
Bayliss
Hiwula Chaplin
I like this as a concept but worry that it is untested and we can’t really handle injuries, losing one of the 3 at the back would hurt us too much, Thompson could step in and whilst he has promise there is gulf in class between him and the core 3. Puts Bayliss into a freer role too which would serve us well but an injury to him leaves us where? Andreu filling that gap?

I think we’ve a flu virus about to sweep through the camp. MR sounded full of it in his interview and we’ve players dropping out the last few match day 18 list.

I hope it don’t affect us to much.

I assume professional footballers are routinely vaccinated against flu? Not that it gives 100% protection.
