We all hoped (post Akinfenwa) that Yak might be a big lump who we could feed off (even if he couldn't run a lot) ; however it is fairly clear that he is unfit(forgetting hamstring). Agree that lack of warm ups suggests our bench are not really 'organised' and I think we can safely write him off for the season.Hopefully a lesson learned by the club (awaits next year's over 35 signing!!)

I wouldn't give CJ stick - it highlights incompetence in areas that need examining: organisation from the bench, recruitment policy, level of medical support/advice, and yes, possibly an individual player's attitude.(be it on the pitch, or professionalism off it)
I'd also kill for 800+ retweets ;)

But yeah, can argue over who's fault it is, but doesn't it show what a shambles we are as a club, that our 'fight' against relegation descends into a bloke wandering around a bit aimlessly?

Please explain the point of the video. (By the way I'm not getting st you - I know you're a passionate fan and do a lot for the club)

True. CJ seems to do an awful lot.

It does seem though that a conclusion had already been come to and it was just a case of presenting the evidence to everyone.

Clive Eakin immediately spotted that Yakubu was injured and Delete Adebola, the guest co commentator for the day also said that the striker looked like he had done a hamstring.

Surely if the issue is one of Yakubu just coming on and not warming up, that should have been the focus of the video, rather than filming him not doing much when he is carrying an injury.

To point out a major problem. That being either Yakubu not being fit enough or even worse being injured and not being allowed to leave the field of play.

EDIT: No matter what the circumstances he didn't warm up again. If he's injured to point out that issue too.

Spot on. This is what I was going for however I can see why some see it in another way now though.

Would have been great if he had just been filmed not at all warming up and him just coming on.

There wasn't really much chance of doing that as he just got up and walked on. I think the vid shows either the result of not warming up and a manager not doing what should be done or a player not fit enough to play in League 1.

Not buying it CJ. You knew exactly what you were doing and if it does turn out he was injured and also if we had already made 3 subs on top of that it's misleading at the very least.

The point you are saying you were trying to make is after the fact and far too nuanced to generate the coverage it's getting.

End of the day though, absolutely useless signing.

LOL HE'S 40

Let's get it right, Yakubu has done fuck all in every appearance for us, ask people who actually go to games and see him. He's a lazy c**t who's been caught out. Deserves all the shit he gets.

That may well be the case, but if you're happy with an injured player being filmed for 2 minutes being used for catching a player out then fill your boots. I'm not.

why is CJ getting stick? He pointed out that the yak did fuck all as we could see. if the yak was injured he should have went off even if we did use all 3 subs.

So the headlines should be 'Slade is useless' then. I just think it's misleading and unfair.

I suppose it all boils down to if you'd prefer news to be factual or prefer following social media bandwagons.

Injured my arse, he never warmed up at all, his whole demeanor is pathetic, just like the people who run this club. When the players were doing shooting practice before the game, he attempted one shot, then walked off not giving a fuck.

He's probably ran 1km in all his appearances for us, an average footballer runs 4km-6km per game. The game yesterday wound me up that much that I paid £14.60 for 3 pints of Birra Moretti from the casino afterwards. £14.60!!! 3 fooking pints!!!

Did CJ write the headlines then?

It looks like he was being a lazy fucker doesn't it, assuming no prior knowledge?

Turns out he was injured. Okay...so that clearly wasn't what the initial thinking was but it's still a valid question - what was he doing on the pitch still?

He's clearly not done it to mislead people into thinking he's lazy has he? I think that's a tad harsh Hill

That's a piss take, nightclub prices.

About players distance travelled per game and not related to this Yakubu stuff at all by the way!
A players demeanour can be misleading. I was surprised to see that Ibrahimovic's average distance travelled per game is the same as Alexis Sanchez. A player who appears to stand about compared with a player who appears to leg it about non stop.

Quote from original post. All explaining done after. Maybe not intentional then, who knows. But no context was given.

Here's Yakubu not doing anything for 2 & 1/2 mins. He was the closest outfield player to Burge (our GK) during a City attack in this period

well he didn't do anything in that video so it's a fact. If he was injured he should have went off. Common sense

For the record I'm not defending Yakubu, Slade, the club or Sisu. The whole lot is a fucking shambles. I just can't stand misleading news. Or 'fake news' as it now seems to be called.

No I get that mate but he didn't have the context at the time did he? He's calling it how he sees it which is him doing fuck all for 2 minutes. It does look like that doesn't it?

I haven't read all his other posts so if he's pretending he knew he was injured and was putting the video up for that reason Yeh I'm not buying it either if that's what you mean.

I'll downgrade what I'm saying and leave it with I don't think CJ was intentionally trying to mislead anyone.

The 'news' outlets have done a Cov Telegraph on it though.

Thanks Hill. Can assure you I wasn't. Whether he's injured or not the vid was to show an issue with either him or Slade. If a player is injured and can't move he should come off. Whether it puts us down to 10 or not. Especially if he tries to go off and were 3 & then 2 goals down.

No worries. Don't thank me though! What I say is irrelevant really.
Just watched the highlights and Yakubu got an assist. Great decision all round by himself and Slade to stay on the pitch. ;)

But you made no mention of the injury in your post - you just said here's Yakubu not running around for 2.5 minutes which implies that he's being lazy (like the last video of a player not doing anything that went viral did) Like I said, I don't wanna take a pop at you but as far as I can see this is either:

A) a badly thought out way to show how not warming up can injure you during a game (a long shot in my opinion as you make no mention of it)

B) Venting your frustration at a player you have developed a mini vendetta against without understanding he was injured

C) looking for social media kudos.

If it was anything other than C then you could do with social media awareness lessons - particularly as you are part of the organisation that is supposed to represent us and our club.

Stern John's come out of retirement this year at the age of 40 to play for WASA FC in Trinidad. Might be fitter than Yakubu. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if he was one of the current trialists. :depressed:

CT did a fake news thing on Friday.

Big Issue seller forced to stand out in the elements during Storm Doris.

Basically the tale was that the BIg Issue seller was selling from under the canopy at Tesco, Jubilee Crescent, but was told to move and therefore had to brave Storm Doris.

The actual truth is that the seller was selling right outside Tesco and a number of customers complained because they found it a little intimidating. Tesco therefore told her to move down the road a bit.

This was at least about SIX weeks ago though, so absolutely nothing at all to do with Storm Doris. Yes, she had to stand outside with no cover during the storm, but the CT painted the story as if Tesco had told her that day and made her stand outside during the storm.

Grrr!!

That was the day I unfollowed the telegraph on twitter. They retweeted that story at least 7 times during the day.
