tbf you would expect the council to help more, surely the higher the football club, higher the yearly revenue it brings to the city, I.e more away fans = more people through the pubs doors every week putting more money into the citys system

The council needs to tread very carefully over the next 6 months.

It is their job to provide services for the community, but it is also their responsibility to bring cohesion and a sense of identity to those in the city.

Building and developing communities takes more than fixing pot holes and reverting to weekly garbage collections.

They would be very wise to consider amending their rental agreement with CCFC, if it is shown that it is disproportionately high for the club.

Well, if those amounts for peter'boro (£500k p/a) and Ipswich (£120k p/a) are right, then our £1.2m p/a does seem high

That is so scary isn't it.

Peterborough were having arguments over their £500,000 a year rent.

Ipsiwch, over their £112,000 a year rent.

City didn't pay own £100,000 rent which is the figure for one MONTH!

Just can't see how we can survive in this current guise. It's either takeover and buying the arena or oblivion.

Sounds like Sisu have got serious over a major overhead they haven't been able to cut yet. Wonder what the back up plan is if we're kicked out of the Ricoh for non-payment?

I just can't see how anyone is saying that we might do well in League One.

We are losing money hand over fist and will be losing a lot more money in League One. Sisu will have to sell more assets (players) to try and stave off further losses. As we sold nearly all the silver this season, all that will be left to sell next year will be Keogh ..... and the talented kids (Bigi, Thomas, Christie and Clarke). Clinagn and Cranie will surely be off anyway.

Hlaf expecting us to have to push another batch of kids through next season before they're ready.

Can't think of a bigger hammer blowing double whammy. Us now not paying the rent and a drop to a lower division with smaller crowds and even less money.

At what time today are we betting on the official site having a "club statement". I think the story will be the club are currently in process of securing finance with the current owners etc etc don't panic, buy a season ticket and cross your fingers we stay up

The problem is the football club, council and ACL should all be talking, yet new tactics and no trust has left the situation in a real dire state! The one thing we would love is unity yet no one is trying to do this, untill we are all going In the same direction the situation won't change!!

The only thing that can happen is the fans get back behind the team and surpport them what ever league there in and who ever owns them, sadly I don't think that will happen....

I am not as optimistic as you Otis

I think there will always be a CCFC.

Doesn't mean we won't end up playing at almost parks level football though.

Wow. This is quite scary.
Now I know nothing about finances so forgive me if I sound stupid. But how much will buying the stadium cost? Didn't it cost 113million or something?... Wouldn't it make more sense for an investor just to build a new stadium and live at the Rugby ground temporarily? Rotherham United's new (12-13k) ground is estimated at less that £20million!... I'm probably missing something huge here, obviously you would need land\permission et. first.

But they wouldn't. You're posting some ridiculous things this morning, Otis. Parks football indeed!

Nah, I can't see it. Anyway, shouldn't we wait and see what SISU will do? Or Maybe Sir Hoff will come riding in on his white horse and finally do something. Making up scenarios isn't really helpful. We need to concentrate on our league positiion firstly, I would think.

Very hard to though isn't it when we know if we go down things are going to get much worse than they already are.

Said before, it's takeover or increasingly downward spiral.

True. We're not down yet though.

And I would love to see what the council would do with a football stadium without a football team. OK, so they have the odd concert and Jehovah conventions but that's about it. That's why I don't think it would come to it.

Local politicians are the lowest of the low, but I'm sure even they're not that stupid.
