YOU DECIDE (1 Viewer)

Interested to see where people think we need strengthening.

You've got two positions (playing positions before this turns into a SISU/anti SISU piss contest) to strengthen, who and what is your priority?

Would of liked an experienced keeper, not another reserve goalie competing for the #1 shirt with the other 2. So a good, experienced goalie and a proven league2 20+ goal a season striker

1 fast winger winger as only have jones and reid with pace at the minute out wide.

1 attacking midfielder in number 10 guise to play behind striker and score goals himself.

Totally agree about winger- wouldn't mind waiting til PL and Champ clubs sort their squads out and then looking at a foray into the loan market for a young and quick wide player of the Kent ilk.

I reckon we have our striker in McNulty. Especially if we keep Beavon, I can see Sparky scoring up to and past 20 goals next year.

A big hefty lummox.

An actual winger, who plays wide and crosses.

Argh - I want three - because I really wanted a Joe Murphy type goalie with years of experience in higher leagues under their belt.

but I like the idea - times are hard, we only have budget for two players....

Agree with CC4L on the winger front - another pacey Murphy/Kent style winger to go along with Jones would be great. Someone who can both press wide for corners and cut inside using pace.
Add to that a tough and reliable centre defender, who can work with Willis as an RB to keep a slick operation in front of goal.

I'm pinning my hopes on Thomas, Beavon, Mcnulty and the hardy boys in midfield bringing in the goals.

Two goalscorers.
One could be a winger, one central or in the hole. Don't care as long as both are prolific.

I think Sky Blue Sam's looking a bit slow and lethargic now. Needs to be replaced with a new Sky Blue Sisu in the image of Joy's statue. Elusive, difficult to pin down and and always looking for a winner in the (witness) box.
Also a new top class defender. Needs to be able to ask and answer the questions when under pressure. Needs staying power and a contract for another couple of years at least. Able to keep foot out of mouth and judge when to stick in his oar. An appealing character able to follow the boss's brief to the letter of the law.

We have just had a new one ;)

Well, if it has to be two - either two top strikers (for our level) or one top striker and a great keeper.
Critically, these are the positions that are most likely to win (or save) matches, and the high fees for strikers reflects the value they add. We can all remember the impact of some of our recent strikers like Armstrong and Wilson and the problems when they left (or stopped scoring)!

Goalkeeper and a creative midfielder for me. We have the piano pushers(Doyle etc) and now we need the piano player's. Stevenson and Bigi are not up to it.

A lot depends on what players decide to stay...

looks like me might be playing doyle and kelly sitting in the middle of the park

I'd like us to sign a CAM that would sit in behind the striker and link the play.

Id also love us to sign a proper centre half, preferably above 6ft 4 and not afraid to give a cheeky elbow in a aerial challenge

I think our attacking midfielder might be Kelly... Bigi and Doyler behind him sitting? Only time I've seen Kelly play he seemed quite an advanced midfielder rather than a combative type like Doyler.

Definitely would like a brick shithouse up front.

Wonder if we can tempt Kevin Kyle away from his lucrative darts deal down at the Black Bull

Not sure any prem clubs would be overly keen on letting any of their young starlets Drop down as
far as League 2, not with all the less cultured cloggers trying to kick them further than the ball.

Yeah, good point. You might be right. Championship clubs have history of it though- and for once were arguably the biggest draw in L2 so who knows ...

Based on current signings so far and in my view what we need, the spine of the side is key for me. So....

A experienced brute of a central defender who wins everything in the air and is still a little mobile and vocal in organising the defensive unit.

Secondly a 6'3 ish target man to win everything in the offensive areas to link up play and be a threat at set pieces. One that's ideally gonna contribute 12+ goals.

The rest of the team I think you could fix with loans if necessary with wide players and attacking midfield options like previous seasons.
