i agree. my original post was a genuine question, wasnt anti slade

certain troll posters will try to make it seem like that because they got egg on their face but me and you know the real score.

Ok we will skip the bit you questioned my knowledge on tactics and formations, and highlighted 3 Slade signings I'd chosen in my 4... yes?
To me who signed them is Irrelevant, it means nothing. They will be under a new mans philosophy, his ideas on shapes and roles in different phases of play.
All we can go on at the minute is what they can bring to the team and offer the group. That's what I based my 4 selections on.

It quite often happens that certain managers can bring out the best in players. Can be a motivational thing (Brian Clough was excellent at getting the best out of players who weren't that great elsewhere), or can be positional, playing a player in a position and a system that suits.

Some players also gel well with other players and almost have a sixth sense and great understanding between them. Fergie and Wallace had this. They worked as a tandem and Wallace always seemed to instinctively know where Ferguson was going to knock the ball on to.

Yes we've not seen players that are in tune with each other at all this season.
Think you touched on something there with Brian Clough. He was not as effective on his own without Peter Taylor. A manager needs his trusted backroom team to pass on there thoughts and plans.
It's very key that Mark Robins has been able to bring in his right hand man. He's not fighting the battle alone then as he has his team to bounce ideas off and have support from the bench on a match day.

Strange that Slade was not allowed the same option.

Exactly Otis. But how much is luck or is it by design?

I hope he decides to call it a day fro Oggy. If he wants his own team of back room staff then Oggy is not his pick and has remained here throughout our demise and as GK coach....and we have two of the worst goalkeepers I have ever seen at the City.

Very strange.... 1st January its report Nugent was set to link up and then nothing.... until 15th February he's appointed Barnet manager.
Can only assume the block was put on him joining and told to use Nicky Eaden instead. Was Slade only ever a short term plan by Venus/Fisher?

He was wasn't he? Problem was nugent was on a contract at charlton and was retained until he went to Barnet. He only had a 6 month contract here so would always struggle to persuade the guy to come here.

Depend how MR viewed his relationship with oggy 4 years ago, contract/salary he's on.... is he on a rolling contract?
I think a Paddy Kenny type who I thinks at Northampton or was till recently? A ex player/coach like that may be better.
Again all depends on MR views on Lee Burge and RCC and what he plans to do for the number one shirt next season with Burge out of contract.
Will MR try and recruit the out of contract Joe Murphy or pursue other experienced keepers of offer a new deal to Burge and let RCC and Burge battle it out again.
So many questions to be answered over May/June/July.

Which highlights that Slade must of only ever been a 6 month deal tops TM would seem back in January

THIS!!

RCC is a must, felt much more confident at the back with him in charge, i just don't feel the defenders had much confidence in burge & couldn't understand why spade persisted with him.

1:00 into the video, that's why RCC shouldn't get a look in either the flappy duck twat!

Yes it is a bad mistake, but it's all down to how confident the defenders feel, and they clearly feel a lot happier and confident when RCC is in goal.
You shouldn't need confidence to jump in the air and catch a ball, it's what a goalkeeper would practice every day, RCC looks like the lad that never got picked in the playground so they just shoved him in goal.

Anyway regardless, get rid of them both, isn't Burge out of contract and RCC has another year? Send him out on loan next season to his level, at Nuneaton.

Lameiras is a star, and only needs the right manager to recognise it and give him the run of games he deserves...
I agree, but he's a luxury player, unsuited to relegation dogfights - the question remains whether he's the type of player Robins will deploy regularly.

Next season if he's here, sure, maybe now is not the time for Ruben to flourish.

Can't really pick a decent 4, aside from what's already been suggested - I'm still waiting for Robins to sign a goalie tbh.

Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa...Beavon.
The one with the handbag can go centre midfield, that one has muchos pent-up rage. :)

For me, Dipsy is a natural left back, Haynes can hold the former's fuzzy hat on the bench and watch a master defender at work.

That video also reminds me of how many times Haynes has the assist so many times from that crossing ability. For older guys on here we have always had a great left footed wing back do that. remember Coop, Catlin, Pearce? What is different about Haynes though is he lacks good defensive skills, but as a left sided midfielder I think he could be particularly good for us and he knows where the net is himself with either foot. of course Grendel won't agree :)

Well for a start Mick Coop was a right back.

Every team is only 3 points from being top of the league after one gave even if they lost 7 nil.

The extrapolation of results of all 3 managers points to relegation as a cast iron certainty

3 managers - all failed - conclusion players not good enough.

The end.
Your last sentence players are not good enough certain players may be but other teams would not be wanting to buy our better players if they were all that bad, square pegs in round holes seemed to be Slade's idea .

But Clough had Taylor spotting the talent not some overhyped incompetent and dross players are always going to be dross regardless... in my humble opinion
