Do you think he was fuming because we asked for a fee, so he’s probably got less of a signing on fee and lesser wages then he could have got

He needs to be playing every week at his age and it looks like he wasn't going to get that here. Good move all round, we've managed to get a fee for a player who was surplus to requirements and he will be more likely to get game time there.

No nonsense from Robins again, same as when we went up from L2. Has no problem getting rid of players who played a part in promotion, and are liked by the fans, as he improves the overall quality of the squad.

Good luck to him I believe League 1 is his level. I may be proven wrong and he could become a Championship player in the future but really don't think that will happen with Bristol Rovers.

Surprised and disappointed to hear of this transfer. I liked him as a player and thought he might be better suited to the Championship where the football should be of a higher quality and pitches more suited. As well as technically good, he made a lot of intelligent runs off the ball. I never got the sense of him being lazy - far from it. I do trust Robins' judgement however and maybe there are some behind the scenes reasons. Anyway I wish Zain luck.

I’m happy he went for a fee in the end, like I mentioned in my earlier post I do wish him all the best and hope he develops but the original idea of just a free and a sell on I didn’t think would get us much in the long run unless he really improves. That being said look at JCH, could have used them goals when he was wearing sky blue!

He wanted it and it’s clear we must have also!

He is defiantly going for a minimal fee no idea if there is a clause
The whowthing was mainly he made robins no longer trust him - a series of events resulting in robins doing robins

Bless him, I do love the man, but that has to be the worst porno ever made. Even if it's with one Robins (or both) as that app turning him into a woman.

I'm guessing £200k and 20% add on

Good luck to him, not many players have ever won a title with us. I hope he has a good career and is given a warm reception if he's ever an opponent.

That's exactly the fee I was hoping for when I was pondering it last night!

Good luck Zain, did a great job last season-did we ever lose a game that he and Shipley started together in the end? I know we had a long run unbeaten with them.

He was a decent player for us last season but got further down the pecking order as the season progressed, a bit of a chicken in the tackle or should I say non existent tackle but good luck to him for the future, I wish him well

I wonder how much we got foe him? 200k? 300?

That is a decent move for him. He needs to keep trying to get game time so he can develop as a player and I think he can.

Some cash for us too.

Good luck Zain.

On Instagram he has said

'thanks for the support, the situation was out of my control but that's football!'

What does that mean? Just that he was told he can leave or more to it than that?

Probably not what Bristol rovers fans want to hear, makes it sound like he joined against his will!

I'm wondering if that's why he said he was fuming? Maybe he was told there is no future for him here and a bid from Bristol has been accepted.

Weird thing to say, surely you can't be forced to sign against your will?

He said in his interview with the Bristol paper that he had been talking to them for a few weeks.

Nah, I reckon its probably because he's back in league one rather than the Championship
You reckon a pro would say they were fuming on social media about a move to a new club? Wouldn’t go down well with his new team’s fans I’d have thought. Although I realise it was a bit cryptic so easily deniable.

Edit: and now I’ve read the rest of the thread, maybe he needs to up the diplomacy in his SM game!

Stinks of a pushy agent who thought after his client had a good month or two could demand a big contract and start linking his name to top Championship clubs which never existed. At least make sure you’ve achieved something and are a regular in the team like Rose before you do that

His agent probably told him he had lined up a deal at Bristol City.

Do you think he was already on decent bucks given.where , how and why he was recruited .
None of us really know but I bet it was at the lower end .
Maybe he thought he'd done enough to get get parity.
Obviously if he did he would have been wrong.

Must be a bit of a wrench - upping sticks when you have had a good season with a team who topped the league - maybe he like Coventry it does have a certain charm ! He did a good job for us scored a few goals so good luck for his future
