I agree! New generation, new attitude and new rules, more than likely that they are warned of any hassle with fans ATM due to the situation.

I think the problem is robbo when we were at highfield road the whole club was united, fans, players and owners. When its like that it transpires through to everyone associated with the club. The exact reverse is happening now no one really gives a shit about anyone.

Before at highfield road if there was trouble with away fans you would back up our own stewards now you would just hope they get a a good hiding. Bad i know but thats how it is.

My view is that there is an issue with stewards, never bothered me but they always seem to get involved in silly little things that could be sorted out in a much better way. They never seem to bother with serious problems or if it were a couple of big guys.
I think that some serious training needs to be done with these people next season.

Half of the orange brigade are way too overweight to do anything!

When it's five on one like earlier I just thought about being compliant..

Thought we had CCTV to watch out for people such as yourself who cause trouble (allegedly) at football...so if you ARE a trouble-maker they SHOULD have you on CCTV - if not, they won't. Appeal on that basis...the steward(s) concerned must have some idea of the time this began to build into an issue for them & surely they report whatever the wrong-doing was & CCTV would focus on that section. So if you are in the wrong - they'll be able to show it to anyone that wishes to see it as they look into it.

Okay thanks Baz, but surely if they see the CCTV footage they'll know the bag isn't mine because I never came in with it and can prove my innocence from there!

Edit: In fairness to the Orange brigade they did say to me it wasn't they're decision and they had been passed this info and so on..

The crewe pitch invader is a good example of how to not be a steward!

The point is, there were 100s of balloons and where does it say anywhere that you cannot bring a bag of them into a football ground?

Stop putting yourself down or we'll get that crane out ;-)
To be fair I took in over 200 Balloons and me my brother and the supporters around us blew them up in Block 16 did get a few looks but were never approached by any one to put them away.
At the end of the day it was a harmless demonstration against the Fascist army that rule over the Ricoh supposed to be a democracy....................

Keep throwing out genuine supporters out the ground will be left with the stewards stewarding themselves'
To be honest I would not have gone without a fight have not heard of any rules that forbid balloons from football grounds see them every week at every ground.
Sorry but they are just a bunch of little hitlers

There were car stickers as well that kids were sticking to walls and seats. I don't know what the issue is with it, but pathetic in truth..

Robo are you the group at the back of the corner, your mate being kicked out at half time? If so was a pure disgrace, no wrong was done!

pusbccfc, I was the one kicked out at half time from the back corner! Thanks mate I appreciate that, like I have said previously I have noticed that this one steward doesn't have a very high opinion of me, I think it was him who twisted it to the Orange Brigade..

The problem could lie in you get what you pay for, if your willing to pay a higher wage for a higher quality person you will get it, there prob paying national minimum wage hence the quality of the staff.

In which case I owe you an apology!

I seen you getting thrown out, I assumed the bag the steward was carrying contained booze and you were the guilty party!

No that was the bag of balloons and car stickers which the other lad had brought in! Don't worry about it mate, like I said I am innocent throughout this what frustrates me most is that last night I knew for sure I was coming up, I paid the money to do a 450 mile trip and to get chucked out for something that wasn't my fault felt wrong!

Once he was 'caught' (or should I say he gave up) the one steward shook his hand........before escorting him out the ground

We must thank Christie for his quick thinking not that the stewards wouldn't of not been able to catch him..

Sorry I misread the post. I missed out the 'Crewe' part. I meant the one who escaped all the flailing stewards today

Oh I see....

I think stewarding is all about mindset. Too many seem to think most attending the event are a problem, especially after any boisterous behaviour. What the role seems to attract are "would-be" police. It's an opportunity to bully or exercise some power over others in supposedly legitimate fashion.
The mindset should be with view to civilly approaching wrong-doers if the are doing wrong & ask them to stop their behaviour - & let them know what the consequences will be if they continue. Otherwise it should be to join in with the fans & help them (home & away) to enjoy their time at the event.

Was disgraceful, you did nothing wrong. Yet there's always a few smokers at the back that they never notice.

What did they tell you when you were kicked out?

Seen a woman steward come over to a lad on our row today he must have been about 10/12 we were sat down the bottom for a change in the sun, anyway she came snatched the coke can he was drinking out of his hand and took it away didn't even say do you want to drink it in the concourse or anything, anyway what is the problem with a ten year old having a drink in the hot weather! Ok it's a can not a bottle but a ten year old isn't exactly going lob it 40 yards to the nearest player is he

Robbo - I'm on the SCG, if you pm me all the details (including your email) ill contact Dan Walker on your behalf. We've raised concerns over stewarding a few times this season.

Just that I had been seen allegedly causing trouble and being violent and that I was being ejected from the ground, but the lads in the Orange Jackets said "you don't look like that type of bloke" but still threw me out..

Wouldn't so sure with the youth of today ;)

Those balloons were everywhere! In your complaint, you should ask why Murphys son was allowed to carry one around the perimeter of the pitch! ;)

The little tot wanted a balloon to play with. Anything roundish is like a magnet to kids.
