But would that not lead to a separate company owning the stadium having no income? Unless they charged CCFC for using it?
The 365 day income from the stadium would go to which company ? Surely CCFC would not get it all?
If thats the case what's the difference to being at the Ricoh.

Lets see the figures !!

I can't think of many club owners who are now involved for the love.

You're both focusing and making assumptions on SISU's agenda without knowing the facts. If SISU want to make any money out of us then they need success both on and off the pitch.

Personally I want us to build a new stadium but would prefer to stall for a few years to see how Wasps work out. Ultimately the whole situation is a fucking farce in that the stadium built for the football club is now owned by a London rugby club.

Virtually every football club who own the stadium have a separate holding company for the property. The club would be part of an umbrella structure and would be able to benefit from revenues.

I've told you this countless times do why bore everyone (other than the usual bunch) - you don't need telling anyway as you know why it's needed - others who don't understand than latch on it as a legitimate argument.

I've shown you countless times the fact that clubs in the championship with far lower crowds than us attracting far bigger earnings.

Change the record.

Fisher said they will never build in Coventry as all trust has been lost. The land at the Butts isn't very big. The infrastructure could be a lot better.

So what makes you think that SISU would build at the Butts?

I would assume that they'd build there because a) it would be cheaper b) it would be quicker c) it's in Coventry

The infrastructure is decent enough, no worse than Highfield road.

Ultimately it's all conjecture and until we know the facts there's really no point in continuing to make assumptions. SISU appear to have learnt some lessons on the field in the last 18 months, let's hope they've also done the same off field.

You are not up to speed on this.
Any new stadium needs to provide a return for is investors and this will be obtained from anybody using it.

Your saying it will all go to CCFC?

So you have just joined but know what I am focusing on and what my assumptions are?

I can't see SISU building a stadium. They would have to purchase land and then have build costs on top. It would come to more than they would be able to get for our club unless we are in the Prem. And if we did get into the Prem a small ground wouldn't be big enough.

The Wasps thing could get interesting. It would be better for them if we stay. They need the money. It looks like staying is best for us. But there is a game to play between both sides before anything is decided. Wasps need to pay out over 1m in interest every 6 months. And then in May 2022 they need to find another 35m. If they don't then ACL will belong to the bond holders. So another way to look at it is they are paying well over 2m a year for the ground before their normal expenses. This is when they are nearly 100 miles away from their local supporters. So can they afford the better players that will keep them winning games? Would many of their supporters keep going if they went on a losing streak?

But if we stay the naming rights will pay for at least a large proportion of the arena for them. Not sure what they would get for just a rugger club.

You have no idea what any structuring would be and how a return would be generated

That's the whole point of the thread, nobody knows but you still defend building a new stadium without a business plan. :facepalm:

I was looking for my Photoshop key, that I'd helpfully stored somewhere.

Came up with all kinds of emails about stag parties, mails from Mark Labovitch, Colleen Fletcher, a surveyor, random people I've never heard of...

No Photoshop key though.

Fisher said they would never build in Coventry.

Highfield road was built in the days before people had cars. Now you need parking. The city centre wouldn't have enough spaces and the local roads are already congested on Saturdays.

These points are not assumptions. They are facts.

Yes yes yes. It's a propco/opco arrangement we all know that. Trouble is is that there are a gazillion ways to skin the proverbial propco/opco cat and we have no idea how our cat will be skinned. If the opco is being charged £2M a year rent into the propco so the ultimate owners of the propco (SISU and their shareholders holders) take a huge dividends every year out of that propco to pay for the stadium build plus interest for the next god knows how many years how is the club going to be better of? Plus we already have a sizable debt to service to SISU already on top of that.

Are you really suggesting that we should blindly follow SISU to the Butts and hope it works out for the best? We need to see some fully costed business plans for both the Butts and The Ricoh. Why wouldn't you want to see them as a CCFC fan and then shoot any fan down who says we need to see them. You clearly just want to leave the Ricoh at any cost to the club just so you can stick two fingers up to Wasps, ACL, CCC, Higgs, PWKH, AL and anyone else who's name has gone in your book. It's about time you had a word with yourself.

Chris Anderson said they would.

Congestion is an issue wherever you place a stadium.

You don't need to be a member with 14,000 posts to see the assumptions you're making in previous posts.

Ultimately I want us to own the Ricoh, you know the stadium that was built for us and then sold behind our backs by good old CCC? For that to happen Wasps either need to buy us or go bust. I'd prefer the latter.

It's a good job nobody took ACL at their word when they said 'negotiations are at an end' before we moved to Northampton...

I dunno, it just surely seems a good thing, to be encouraged, if the club want to build a ground in Coventry. Far more sensible to push them to develop that then insist they build in Leamington because they said so!

The Butts will not happen. There is not enough space for a decent sized stadium let alone a car park. There are railway lines on one side, the old tech which has some sort of preservation status, oap's home, residents, busy road already. It is just a decoy in some game between Tim and Wasps.

We can't afford it so no.

But if the Chairman and now the new bloke says we are where does that leave the club for the future.
They are spoon feeding us bullshit and some people are lapping it up.
