OK, my curiosity is now piqued.

Not reading Wasps articles on there... is there a fan club that makes Italia look like the Cameron to their Thatchers?

Wonder what the last wasp article which was commented on was. The pattern should be there for all to see.

Can you blame people for the negativity towards wasps. CCFC fans want them to fuck off, except for a couple of bellends on here.

No we want to know what Sisu are doing. The bell ends are the ones that are not bothered and just fight a fruitless battle for the Ricoh without knowing if Sisu can finance it or not.

I'm looking at some on here that would be happy to see the Ricoh in ruins and our club in a 12,000 seater stadium at the Butts.

Personally I like to see the Ricoh thriving, it's good for Coventry and it's good for local businesses.
Yes I'm unhappy we will never own it but I still hope that Wasps and CCFC can make it work for the benefit of each others aspirations.

We can't afford it so no.

But if the Chairman and now the new bloke says we are where does that leave the club for the future.
They are spoon feeding us bullshit and some people are lapping it up.

No one is lapping it up. People are saying they would prefer the club to own their own ground than rent off Wasps. Most people would prefer us to own the Ricoh, not Wasps.

I havent yet seen anyone say they believe a new ground will be built, but I know a lot more people hold enthusiasm for the club to build at the Butts if it were ever feasible, than stay as tenants as Wasps.

What will happen no one knows. The club may build their own stadium, they may not. They may be playing a waiting game with Wasps, they may not. Just because we dont know what happens doesnt mean we cant have a view on what we would find the ideal sitautaion, whether it will happen or not.

The irony is no one believes a word sisu say.

However, you fall for every bullshit line wasps feed you and off you toddle and push the agenda they want on here.

It's pathetic.

Where do I push their agenda ? I just go and watch them which is really your beef.

Are you not following the thread Mart?

Any post that can be seen as negativity towards SISU in any way isn't allowed. But if you are talking about CCC or Wasps you are only allowed posts that show negativity. And this comes from those that will tell you that they are unbiased in their views and all they want is the truth.

I normally value your posts as well written and objective Astute, but thats just balls.

It's never going to work for the benefit for both clubs aspirations.

The only option we have at the moment is to stay at the Ricoh, be it while we work towards are own stadium or not.
Who knows, if we can get to the PL and Wasps are just ticking over the tables may turn.

All I know is that we need to be in existence for any opportunities in the future. A risk to CCFC is a battle between Wasps and Sisu that could only end with one winner.

1) we all know we have to stay at the Ricoh for at least the next 5-10 years

2) even if sisu do battle with wasps, we're not going to go out of existence, it's not going to happen.

All you get from me on the Wasps situation is negativity. They shouldn't be in Coventry and CCC shouldn't have let them have the stadium. But nobody ever has a go at me for my views on the matter. But if I say anything that can be taken as having a go at SISU, even when I don't mention them, the thread turns into a shitfest. It seems as though you can't even say that the Butts isn't big enough for a big enough ground for us. That would be the case whoever is running our club.

Maybe we should just let the Butts fans enjoy their Christmas in the hope that Santa comes. He won't, but why ruin it for them? My kid loved waiting for Santa.

I'd be happy for the club to own it's own ground over renting at the Ricoh so long as it offered the club a better financial return.

We don't know either way is the point some of us are trying to make as we have no costed business plans.

It's clear some are not interested in that.

Some clearly just want out of the Ricoh at any cost and are happy to shout down anyone who disagrees with that and call them Wasps lovers etc. for wanting to look after the long term future of the club.

Moving out of the Ricoh for the wrong reasons could be fatal for the club. If we go it has to be for the right reasons and also give the club the ability to flourish not stagnate or diminish.

Do people who like the idea of a stadium at the Butts actually think it is happening or just like the idea of a city centre stadium that we own and can fill?

I really wish we wouldn't play the SISU game however, and we'd also include the intangibles of identity and social embedding. Those can, long term, be worth far more than the short term financial gain.

Maybe both. But why are we discussing a nice happy end to the saga? Or at some time does the thread end "and they all lived happily ever after"? If so could someone post it at about 23:00 ( my bed time )?

Has anybody actually asked CRFC what they want?

I have been told there was a meeting with CRFC and they were very receptive to SISU's ideas. In the past Rossborough has been on CWR saying they have a very good relationship with the club and would do anything they could to help them if asked.

Would anything be possible without CRFC giving it the thumbs up?

This is pretty pathetic tbh. People like the idea of a city centre stadium. Do we believe it will happen? Probably not. Does it make us Butts fans? No, just fans of a football club that don't want us to be renting a stadium from a tinpot shithouse rugby club.

Lucas and Mutton clearly didnt when they moved in an out of town Rugby team.

And that is game set and match!

But, it is strange that people are drooling about a stadium which they don't believe they are going to get. We are discussing the advantages and disadvantages of something that practically everyone wants, but thinks is not going to happen anyway. Like discussing about what Santa is bringing and hanging out the stockings. Sorry for breaking the spell.

I still believe that Sisu only moved us back because they got word of the Wasps deal.
It goes without saying that the negotiations had started with Wasps well before we came back.

Personally I like to see the Ricoh thriving, it's good for Coventry and it's good for local businesses.

If the club did relocate it wouldn't mean there would be less prosperity in Coventry, economic activity will simply be relocated from one locality to another. Businesses close to the new location would benefit from a relocation, just as businesses near the Ricoh did when the club moved from Highfield Road.

That may be true, but it doesnt escape the fact that clearly the Council did not ask CRFC for their views before selling out to Wasps.

Lucas and Mutton et al, didnt give a damn about the rugby club, being blinded in their hatred of SISU. Lucas's words about the Rugby club clearly now look a complete sham and show her to be the true charlatan she is.

It wouldnt suprise me if CRFC had an apetite to work with CCFC to form a united front, in the hope of them both succeeding as a joint Coventry venture, not a parachuted in team.

I'm comparing to the Ricoh when the club was in Northampton.

So CCFC becoming tenants of CRFC is an option ?

Doubt that would be the arrangement. If SISU were to pay for a huge redevelopment of the Butts they aren't going to hand it over to CRFC and then pay them rent to play there.

Personally I would set up a joint venture co set up in such a way that CCFC got the majority of the income, as they would presumably put in the majority of the capital, but ensured that CRFC were at worse on an equal footing as their current deal.

Or Wasps PR thought it would be a bad idea to buy the stadium and move in while we were still playing at Northampton.
