Mowbray played fortune in wide right not as a striker.

Lol.if that's case....why???? I'm not sure he did! We are one nil down. You take a central midfielder off...bring on Fortune..who I'm sorry should never be on the wing! He plays back to goal. doesnt ever look like scoring has no pace...slows down the play.

Fortune is a target man. there's a time and place for bringing him on.

im sure no one was filled with confidence when he came on.
Fortune Strength is strong enough who should be playing up front and holding it up..mixing it up...long balls...bringing others quicker players..into the game.

What's happened to Tudgay...? Not getting a look in recently ahead of Fortune.

Are you suggesting fortune dismissed Mowbray's instructions and decided to play out wide himself????

He definitely came on the wing and didn't show any of that strength you speak of. Even the commentators picked up on that,

Surprised he even came on at all. Didn't bother warming up at HT with the others and preferred to sit on the bench in a hat, scarf and coat. Probably safe to say he had gloves on too although that's just a guess (given the rest of his attire).

Didn't look interested when he came on.

Don't forget we're a struggling team with 20k average crowds , you are a team in form who struggle to get 10000. We are playing totally lacking in confidence but we beat you. As for your support. PATHETIC. At the end of the season and we are promoted and next season you are still playing in a 1/3rd full hockey stadium we'll see who are the better team.
ps never thought i'd go to a stadium that makes MK Dons seem like a football ground but the Ricoh really does it. Used to really enjoy Highfield Rd and went to the first ever top flight game there.

Was at the game and fortune was ready to come on before they scored. So I don't think it was Mowbray reacting to us going one nil down

Not quite 20,000 there today. And how on earth are you going to get promoted? If it wasn't for a very poor ref we would have won today.

Lets be brave next week.

Obrian and Murphy wing backs!!!

Martin, Turner, Stokes
vincelot , fleck
obrian, Rubén, murphy

Just got back frm the game and like others have said the worst ref i have ever had to see in my life.
for the grace of god lameiras still has two unbroken legs and i dont think any would disagree it was a clear red.

we wernt at our best today with Murphy having a very poor first half and lets not mention the mistake for their goal which in all honesty is the only shot on target I remember them having.

For m Sheffield are the worst team i have seen this season. They lacked confidence, attacking options and at times their players seemed to not want the ball. As for their constant dirty play pulling players back as soon as we were in good positions was just disgusting.

from what i saw today utd will be lucky to remain the top half of the table at the end of the season and definately not top 6 they really are awful.

in my opinion tm got his team wrong today by taking off job and not playing kent.
as soon as job went off we lost the midfield and if he had played kent from the start i think utd would have found it impossible to cope with his pace resulting in more bookings and sending offs

Worst team in league one. I'm glad your overpaid players on championship wages are. Short changing you. Most our players have more skill in their tiny toe than your pathetic sorry whole squad has.

Your shit and in front of Sky cameras proved to the whole world how shit and lucky you are.

Sun really does shine on dogs Arse some days!

table doesnt lie.

Your team physically assaulted most of our forward line, then rode their incredible luck from the blatant red card incident, to the goal that never was for us, to the goal your lad scored off his shoulder.

To post so ignorantly and brazenly after such a 'victory' just shows your lack of class. Your team cannot bully and whinge their way to promotion, so start praying, lad.

watched the game on tv,
observations;

a total, & worrying, for footballs sake, home biased official, Iain Williamson 0/10, should never ref anything above sunday league,
the blatantly evil tackle on Lameiras was nothing short of criminal,
this needs to be reviewed with the option of a retrospective decision to ban McElverley,

he was aided and abetted by Joe Clarke, an assistant who with the benefit of being on the right side of the pitch, was unable to admit that the ball had crossed the line, an incompetent oaf, in any other job he would be summarily dismissed,

these events together with the overall blatant bias towards a side that were determined to kick CCFC off the pitch, only serve to enhance the hatred created towards individuals like Williamson & Clarke,

i would hope that the yellows to Ricketts would be contested & that Williamson would have the balls to admit to his BLATANT errors,

all he needs to do is look at the after match interviews, and LISTEN to the S.U. players response to questions,

i would further hope that CCFC never EVER have to put up with Williamson's dubious antics again,
PUSB & can we have fair & competent officials in future

The tackle had no malice in it it was just very poor. The referee made 3 decisions wrong - he wasn't unfair and wasn't the reason we lost the game.

You mean it wasn't the only reason we lost the game. If you really think otherwise, then you are simply wrong.

We lost the game, as Mowbray said, due to a poor bit of defending.

So if our goal had counted, you think we'd have conceded 2?

Technically it wasn't a goal. It was a penalty which we tend to miss.

I never said it wasn't a red card offence - it wasn't an evil tackle as someone said.

So why even mention malice when it has no bearing on whether it was a sending off offence or not. From what I saw it looked like not just a very poor tackle but part of a plan to intimidate our forward line and should have been punished accordingly. Then it probably would have had an impact on the result. And to say we shouldn't expect to score from a penalty because we tend to miss them is silly.

If the ball is in the net a splt second after the 'penalty' ( which you dont have Time to blow for ) do you take the ball out and have to kick it in again? Or is it "advantage" and Play on?

Sheffield United had a plan, knowing they couldnt beat us man for man and resorted to playing frustrating niggly football.

I personally didnt think the ref had a bad game whilst I was there. Have since seen the sky highlights and it is 100% a red for their left back.

I think with the 'goal' there was no clear vision for ref or lino could happen the other way next week and we wouldnt care - thats football but so frustrating.

After they scored our heads went and we panicked, Ricketts getting stupidly booked that late on will now miss games. After watching highlights I know its debatable whether it was a second yellow or not but why even give that choice to the ref? Stupid decision to fly in that just highlights my point of losing our heads (first time I have seen this happen this season).

Sheffield United are a horrible team that play shit football and their fans wind me up always have.

However I fully believe that the team with Mowbray can move on and come back next week against Oldham and I think we will win comfortably and by next Saturday evening this game will be just a distant memory.

If the assistant was doing their job correctly they would immediately flag for the first offence and the referee would award the penalty.

At full speed it's easy to excuse the fact the goal wasn't given anyway. The keeper covered the view and even at slow speed and several camera angles only one really showed it over the line. One official should have spotted the penalty.
