The worst decision in terms of no excuse to have not got it right was the 'foul' by Vincelot on their bloke at that corner!!?? RV arms were out In front the whole way though the incident WHERE/HOW did the ref see a foul by RV?

You're absolutely right, but I got the impression the free kick was given for an "obstruction" by one of our players nearer the goal. I had to watch it quite a few times cos the Sky coverage was all about the assault on RV. The "fool" was not even looking at the real foul.

The tackle by Shmerkle (can't be bothered to spell correctly) against WBA was far worse.

I've been searching the internet for the last half hour looking for a player called Shmerkle or a similar. Didn't think you meant Skrtel.

Does anyone know if there was an observer there from the FA? I've been told that they go to games in the premiership and assess the officials, but do lower leagues also benefit?

I thought the ref appeared to be looking & point at RV. Was farcical!

This inept referring performance should surely result in these 'officials' moving on wards and downwards to non league.

That may take the smile off the referees face that he enjoyed all game

Obviously they are given games well ahead so Mr Williamson will be reffing Barnet v Crawley this weekend followed by MK v Cardiff on Boxing Day.

Bloke should have been taken off handling games and made to be 4th official for a few weeks.

I think most team's video games and can show goals on scoreboard. Refs have a hard time getting decisions right first time due to position and speed of incidents however they don't consult with the linos enough. I think there should be a playback system in place like rugby internationals and cricket. Each side can have two reviews each half.

The red card tackle and handball should have been picked up by at least the lines men if not the referee. The goal incident is more inconclusive.....probably over the line isn't enough.

Half the time the linesmen struggle to make a throw in decision at this level.

They are there to assist the referee and with regards to that tackle on Sunday the linesman had a unrestricted view baffled how he didn't advise the ref who may have had players in his eye line that it wasn't a red.

Do we believe the officials will have watched their performance from Sunday following the game?

Would that be a norm for a ref for a televised game? If I were a ref I would most certainly tape any live game and watch it back later if there were controversial decisions.

Wonder if they did or not in this instance.

I have indeed, though mine is the next model down in that series.

Do we not say tape it anymore then? I thought it had become part of popular culture in the same way as to Hoover and that you still buy the Radio Times and shop at the Carphone Warehouse. ;)

As I've said on another site, the referee was a total wand and I reckon he had a Sheff Utd shirt on under his refs shirt.

I can't remember watching a game where the refereeing decisions were so non consitent. As for the hand ball, ball over the line goal, well, if the officials don't watch the game they should be bloody well made to do so.
