Man of the match for me today best game for the club & this is from someone who is very critical of him.

(I still panicked when it looked like he was going to fly into a challenge In the the area in the 2nd half!)

Martin was MOM - he had a brilliant game.

Still say £1 million was one of our best transfer deals ever, side pass after side pass, he should have been punished today with those pass backs.... he also has no ability to play a through ball.

Utter bollocks. Did you fall asleep during the second half or something? He probably played some of our best offensive balls today.

To be honest i have no prior knowledge of the guy, but your verdict doesn't sound to promising. The reports i have read said Sounders offered him a new contract and he was good a box to box player. Obviously reading an article is not the same as watching the man play! On this occasion i do hope you are wrong ;)

I have only only seen him on the box and you don't see everything that you do in the flesh, TM has seen him train and obviously thinks he is good enough and that will do for me.

Yes. Phillips did well, especially as the game wore on. Once he had got the handle of him, he certainly got the better of their left midfielder.

First half Phillips was not too great. Whenever the ball is in the air he gets muscled off it far too easily. With the ball on the ground he does much better. Not sure if he has much more beefing out to do, but he is a liability for me.

Normally, yes, but not today. I have been critical of him, but today I thought was his best game for some time.

Phillips is quite stocky I think. I did shit myself when he went runnign into the box with the striker thinking he would give a pen away!

First half no-one was too great.

That is his problem, he likes to go storming in giving away freekicks and even penalties. He has talent and certainly works hard for the team, just needs to be a bit more sensible.

Pretty sure he doesn't like giving free kicks and penalties to be honest. ;)

I didn't think that this was Bigi's best game for us since he came back and at the moment I think Fleck would be first choice. However I think he is a useful signing and has done okay since his return. I don't think TM has made a bad signing yet and he certainly seems to rate Bigi. TM a better judge than some on here who just seem to run down a player no matter how he plays simply because they don't like him. Surely all City fans would want him to succeed. Some on here seem to be willing him to fail simply so they can say I told you so. I'm not a big fan of Arron Martin but I still hope that he does well and will prove me wrong. I thought Phillips played really well today.

Had a better game than the few previous and he looks like he covers allot of ground. Think him and Fleck will make a good two when Vancilot gets his inevitable 5th yellow.

How do you know there is not any championship clubs interested in him?

Because Newcastle would make him go there as there would be more chance of matching his wages. As things stand he's going to be costing them a lot of money.

Dont think he has to go anywhere he doedmt want to and now u seem to know how much he earns and what % of that we are paying.

He earns £19k a week according to a site that shows Newcastle player earnings.

Ffs totally disagree with you mate!!!! He done well. Thought he was solid enough and brave on the ball...ok he's no fleck. But we ain't go a get a better replacement. Would you prefer Connor?

Unfuckingbelievable the critisism of him unjustified. End of!

Bigi is a class above the others, had a great game today, if anything, needs to slow down and not fall into the headless Jim role of trying to be everywhere

Well said mild mannered janitor we shouldn't give credence to the crap threads peeps start. We won. He played very well. He gives it 110%. Great signing let's hope he signs permanent.

He had some good moments but also enough moments that put the fear of God into me particularly near the back, like the backpass to RCC that was almost an attempt to lob him. Fleck dropped a bollock when he gave the ball away at the back in that game but I'd feel way more comfortable if he was in the same positions Bigi was in today. I'd happily take back permanently but fingers in the ears and lalalalalalaing any criticism of him doesn't get a forum very far.

Interested to see what he's like if he's up to full fitness. Until then, I won't listen to Grendel

He was elevated to untouchable otherwise known as "Sheff syndrome" after he or someone else wrote some sentimental stuff about how much he loved Coventry and was so grateful he would stay forever. He wasn't that bad though could have cost us. Not fussed whether he stays or goes
