Have not read this whole thread (can't be bothered) but if Joe Cole has been advising James then he will almost certainly advised him to stay where he is for at least another season or so.

He will be advising him exactly the opposite.

And making him a millionaire.

And that is the problem with Premier League wages, many don't want to play. So fair play to Armstrong, Murphy and Kent for coming here to learn and advance their trade.

Evidence? Who do you know who doesn't want to play?

Winston Bogarde weren't too bothered about playing when he was at Chelsea. Also that keeper Stuart Taylor happily sat on the bench for numerous premier league clubs

You don't know he is going anywhere just yet. It depends on the offer, what the club wants and what the player wants. Every club above us will have an interest in Maddison. Just like they are watching Armstrong Murphy Kent RCC and probably Stokes.....with our players and their age we are probably the most watched team in League 1. The goal goes down to Maddison not Cole.

Why don't you read the post did I say he was going anywhere no did I say the goal was down to Cole no.

Our keeper RCC happily sat on the bench at the start of the season. Now Burge is happily sitting on the bench. Or am I missing something?

There will always be the occasional player that will be happy to take the money once they have a lucrative contract. We have had our own players like it over the years. But just because a player isn't getting games it doesn't mean they are happy with the situation. Next someone will be saying that Tudgay is happy not playing.

The free kick was absolutely class. No power at all, just carefully lobbed it into the top corner.

Noticed it didn't even make Sky's goal of the day poll bizzarely

He will play for a top level Prem club, no doubt. He can dribble and pass, not many British players possess those abilities together.

I don't understand why he's never played for England at any youth level and yet Morris, Murphy and Kent have.

Because he plays for a L1 club and that's just the way it works.

Here is his goal taken from behind the goal https://vid.me/NP42

It was a very well taken free-kick but the goal-keeper was poorly positioned. It was not in the top corner, it was a yard or more away from the corner. A Prem GK would probably have saved it.

Maddison update:

Spurs missed out on him last year and are determined to sign him this January. David Pleat and Spurs' head of recruitment watched him against Burton. Spurs most likely loan would loan him back for the rest of the season.

Liverpool, Everton, Man City, Newcastle and Southampton are also interested.

Well if they watched him against Burton he hardly did anything in that game, so may be put off. ;)

If they want to give us £5m and loan him back then we should take it. Give TM at least a £1m of that to strengthen the squad.

Careful Otis, you know every other city fan values him at 800M like they did with Wilson!

800M would be quite nice.

Buy Messi and Bale and Kompany and kick Wasps out too. Perfect!

Come on Spurs, show us the money!!!

A scout from Reading at the Burton game on Saturday said Southampton offered £10 million for him while he was injured and got turned down!!

Why is it that some will still not admit that what we got for Wilson wasn't his true value?

Not sure he's as good as made out to be. Anyone remember ozil against England in 2010? Bit older admittedly but also international game in a world cup. He was and is a class apart to maddison. Also remember how good alli was for mk dons before he left?

Why are you comparing a league 1 footballer to a world cup winner?

Pleat has watched him a lot and was even pictured as a fan in the telegraph at the Walsall game, 10 million I would snap their hand off and wouldn't be to bothered if we got him back at that price.

Those saying you can't see his control and dribbling ability is on another planet are blind to talent. Also his ability to pick a pass is brilliant.

All the premier league scouts don't owe him or us anything so the reason they are interested is because of his potential to be one of the best English players of his generation

Not at the same level as the start of the season but he's only played a couple of games since recovering from a broken leg and even if I didnt, 7 people paid to see if at the top level do

In the circumstances while the club was leaking so much money it was the true price, the tactic of moving the club to Northampton devalued the Arena and player assets both!
