Tudgay was far and away our best player at Southend for the 45 minutes he was on the pitch so I think it would be seriously unfair to place two yoof teamers ahead of him. Also, he's barely played of late so to say he's offering nothing is absurd. He's offering all you can offer from the sidelines.

Well, it's time he took the MAF-tinted goggs off, methinks. Tudgay is underused and I wouldn't be surprised if he retired.

Youth is the way forward, and the hunger of our two young forwards should make a difference.

Can't comment on Saturday but whenever I have seen him come on for little bits this season he has always done what he has had to. It is usually winning headers, holding the ball up and laying it off and then running into the box!

Yep, he does what it says on the tin, so to speak. He's a useful player, either as a striker or a second striker, good in the air and strong on the ball. Shame TM has nearly no confidence in him.

We still need a nasty bastard up front though, a real bundle of horribleness, like a Dean Windass-type forward or a...*cough* Leon Clarke...

Well considering Mowbrey has been prepared to play the likes of Stokes, Armstrong, Murphy, Maddison and Kent....you would think he is pretty capable of deciding when somebody is ready.

No, Maddison is good enough, Mowbray and his staff deem Bassala as not good enough yet... So simply stating he is worth a go, what have we got to lose, he is the same age as Armstrong etc is not good enough. I would hope that a bit more thought goes into our play and squad.

But that's the point i keep making. Sambou isn't Unknown to TM and he deems him not to be ready/good enough & that's his job & what we pay him for

I don't care. The fact is that Armstrong isn't scoring regularly now like he was earlier on this season. He's failed to score in 7 of his last 8 games.

Because in the last 10 games the Crewe game has been the exception rather than the rule. Only 6 goals in the other 9 games. There has been a general feeling that we've struggle to create and score goals, which Crewe aside is evidenced.

Well I said at the time of the Crewe game, that there were some very bad errors by Crewe that though not gifting us goals, certainly gave us relatively easy chances on goal, the two Armstrong ones from open play in particular.

Crewe's defence were awful so that does need to be taken into account.

Yep, it's the service to Armstrong rather than Armstrong himself. If he was missing stacks of chances then it would be different, but we're hardly giving him the ball in good positions at all.

Would be a good loan IMO. Drop a division to a good footballing team who are challenging at the right end-see how he goes & get him back in the summer

That's a fine reason not to bring a young untried kid in though, and tar him for life as being unable to score.
