Nicky did - he's lying next to Italia in his bed as we speak. Tony is reduced to making the tea

Take a day off will you. Why don't you actually try reading what I've posted on this thread rather than spouting nonsense that I'm sure you probably think makes you look clever but when actually lined up to my opinions on this actually just make you look a knob.

As somebody who goes on about being so proud of the city, you would have though you would want a broader variety of sporting teams in there if they are going to put any in. Rather than 2 franchises with no heritage here at all.

I think it pretty much sums it up the attitude towards CCFC and the other teams which has been pointed out for months.

nothing to do with SISU, just this:

To be fair you are right.
As much as I don't like the recent history of the decline of our football club. You can't pick and choose.

A photo of the fans doing us proud and making a stance against it on the March, would have been a nice touch. That was a proud moment.

Personally I am not going to get all wound up over some time capsule.
Although it will be interesting to know why we are not in there. I believe the BBC are contacting Friargate Development for a response.

Havent read all this thread yet. Has the explanation been received or have we all decided it's a Wasps CCC conspiracy that will really upset SISU?

I thought time-capsule's contained pieces of the day it was planted. Why would they put something in from 29 years ago

Yeah, a bit strange isn't it...

If it was the Cov vs Northampton program it would be a cheap dig.

Can only really think of Jimmy Hill.

If they now say it's a 1987 programme final, I'd be very cynical and say it could be them thinking of something to do with the club and saying it was added...

You asked who they are. They aren't anyone!

They don't exist, bloody hell contact the BBC they are trying to contact Friargate Development for an explanation as to why CCFC were left out of the capsule.
We are never going to get to the bottom of this and I can't wait 50 years it's worse than the Roswell files!!!!!

No doubt about it-this stinks.
I did hear the club were invited to send something for the capsule-They sent MAF but he wouldn't get in the Box.

When Wasps are mentioned in the media, despite what the council are desperate to believe, the fact they are now in Coventry is neither here nor there. It does very little for the city's profile. Hence why Wasps have to get involved in as much PR pap as possible.

At least when the Sky Blues are mentioned, the fact they are a Coventry team is always at the forefront.

Do you actually believe that ?

Anybody who wants to contact them.
Plenty of texts but they are waiting for the "Nigel on phone" button to go out before they can take calls.

I mean who has made the statement about the 1987 programme that has just suddenly appeared in there. nearly 30 years too late for a time capsule.

Linnell said that's the statement he has from the marketing company. The query is why the said it was Coventry Vs Northampton Cup program from 1987.
Still waiting for that one to be sorted.

We didn't play them in the Cup in '87.

And if it is the one from this year it is a bit of a blatant dig isn't it ;)

Why would it take so long to clarify what was in there?

If they have indeed added the 1987 cup final program who's donated it? I know my old man wouldn't part with his, doubt anyone else would. And there aren't exactly loads of them flying about.

And as said, what's that got to do with 2016. You would put in something from now

So we are in there after all.

Looks like you're going to need an industrial size vacuum cleaner to hoover all these feathers up Nick. If it helps I know M & J tool hire are open on Saturday mornings if it's too late for you to get up there tonight.

Bit of a strange programme to pick, a game from nearly 3 months ago, almost like a dig ;)

Seems my prediction about the Telegraph earlier on was about half hour out though :(

Although some people are clearly never going to be happy it is a great shame that something to commemorate the passing of JH and what he did for the club and city wasn't included.

Agree with that, that is something that is happening now (granted he passed a couple of weeks ago, and the memorial service is in a couple of weeks). I don't think anybody could argue with that could they.

Strange how both Wasps and JLR (Their sponsors) were all over it though. Still a PR stunt.

It can be passed on to CWR and the CT too then as they quite happily reported and tweeted about it throughout the day.

I'm not convinced. You would think they would have been straight onto it to correct / clarify , being a PR and marketing company. If they really didn't have the programme then, maybe it was because they were going out of their way to prove a point with the Northampton programme from 3 months ago rather than the last home game played...

Just going to keep my tin foil hat on.

The story broke at around 10am this morning and has taken nearly 7 hours to get clarified. Wouldn't surprise me if they'd dug up today just to retrospectively pop in a Ccfc item.

Still doesn't explain why no CRFC or Bees or why sky blue Sam wasn't invited to event.

Exactly, why would the council tweet saying it was nothing to do with them. Why not just say "There is a programme in there". Surely who ever was tweeting would have double checked things first before they denied all knowledge.

Well the CT just clearly hate CCFC and are deliberately trying to unstable the club ahead of match day whereas the inevitable Mowbray out cries that will be on the phone in later isn't enough doom and gloom for CWR so have spun this story to keep the pointless moaning text and call count up.

Either that or it was an honest mistake.

No, no. I'm clearly being stupid. It's clearly the first one. ;)
