Out of interest is your nephew not a JSB? You would then know more about what was on offer. The worst thing to happen to this club is Wasps and the worst thing to happen to the City as a whole is Ann Lucas. The quicker they both fall off the face of the earth the better!
Excellent play. Council and wasp bashing in the same sentence

no he isnt, his dad made him support liverpool and he doesnt live in coventry, but he recently started going school here hence the free tickets

but you make a good point. JSB membership isnt that much is it?> might be worth getting it for him even if he only goes to 3 or 4 games all season long. would get to experience the activities and at least reinforce ccfc as his second team

£25, they get free gifts and loads of vouchers to take their mates etc for £1. I think family tickets for £20 too if I remember.

It is worth it just to take them to the parties!

We are a football club not children's entertainers. When I was a child going to the football with my old man was enough! I certainly would not have been interested in any of that shite.

What about the passion? When the Wasps player comes out does anybody know who they are?

Is it the same as 100 kids following Adam Armstrong about? Or hearing a kid say "Theres Joe Cole" and kids running to see him?

I don't know, but obviously the big names like Illhaveto Getbactou would have the same following.

It is a good thread and illustrates how support can be garnered for the long haul.
There's no such thing as free will, just further indoctrination.

It only illustrates the fact people are very quick to praise Wasps and say we should do things etc etc, for stuff we have done all along.

Sometime missing out on the kids stuff effects you for the rest of your life

I'm still a big kid and I'd love all this stuff even now!! Especially a bouncy castle and a Henna tattoo! ;)

JSB membership is over 1000 now I believe. The Christmas party had hundreds of kids there (I was there with my boy and it was excellent).

The JSB matchday volunteers do a sterling job, but are limited to the area in the concourse. I fear too it would take a change to the rental agreement to be able to use the Jaguar Hall.

JSB membership is £20 and u12's get in free if you sit in the Family Zone with them - http://www.ccfc.co.uk/fans/junior-fans/

TBH the way Liverpool are playing at the moment we could become his 1st team with a promotion ;). As Nick said JSB's is great, he'll enjoy it!

This is despite the fact that we were told that the arrival of the franchise in the city would in no way affect the football club or rugby club; it was always obvious that they were going to be competing with us for fans, which seems to have been welcomed by a minority of our support.

I get what you mean but how do we know that the club would have our landlord's permission to do such events? Who would fund it? For me it would be a waste of money and if children require that much entertainment, then they shouldn't be going to watch sport in the first place!

You beat me to it as like you my dad took me to Highfield Road as a kid and that was great as we were winning divisions, and pop and crisp sessions were put on for us.I don't give a toss about Wasps even though I'm a rugby fan,so all this entertainment means nothing.

maybe in spring/summer months they can do stuff outside the ground from 1.30pm? no need to pay a cent to wasps then

That sums up the whole Rugby concept.
They want to make a day of it.
They want to know where they park, where they will be entertained , watch the match and then be entertained again.

Football seems more of get there (helped by police), watch the match (helped by stewards) get away (helped by police).

It was for me as well, my daughter however was only sold at a Christmas party when she didn't want Jim Obriens autograph because "he keeps getting sent off on FIFA"...

To be honest the game was awful.
Newcastle just slowed it up so much it was annoying.

If you want to talk about the game, use a different forum.

As for the point about kids zone, our volunteers do a great job but I guess they are working off donations an people giving up their time. If the club want to put on a big fair ground production then its going to take an investment from the club which I'm guessing with money being tight they don't see it as a priority.

Yeah I've thought this too, plenty of space in the car parks behind the North Stand and would be very easy to set up a number of pop-up bars. Even in the winter months a bunch of marquees would do the job.

Would you need Wasps permission though still as it's their land? Also depending on what was put on, would you need certain licences?

So basically rugby is so boring even the people who go don't go for the rugby :D

Possibly. :thinking about:
It's is not as visual as football and you need to get into the technicalities of the game to appreciate it.
The screen does help 'in the ruck' (I think that's what they call it :) ) , on the big decisions and does add to the experience.

Kids could take an age to get into it and if left to there own devices would always choose football. IMHO

The thing with going OTT is that kids will just go for the fairground, rather than the football or rugby. When that stops, they wont go.

Think you raise a very valid issue CC4L ........ its about attracting and retaining the youngsters interest. Face painting is a start but giving the youngsters a taste of the sport in a fun safe way is the next step and will get the older kids more interested

This kids thing that Wasps did isn't for every game though is it? It was a special promotion for that game wasn't it?

They do utilise the Jaguar Hall on a number of matches though it would seem

It is all going to be down to finance and availability. It wont cost Wasps any more to use a free(unused) space they own. It will cost CCFC. Not sure CCFC could expect to get for nothing. Let alone paying for the stuff you are putting in there. Such events have got to be good for attracting families and the next generation of supporter. It is the sort of event CCFC should put on but maybe not every week. We have Legends Day why not have a family day with this kind of stuff provided.

Am I right in thinking the JSB match day events are self financing? Do the club pay for any of it? I know in the past the SCG have had a whip round to pay for things. Surely it is the kind of thing the SCG should be pushing the club to do and the club should pay for. Pat Raybould and her volunteers do a great job

just my tuppence.

Agree with that, I'd be happy to pay a bit more for JSB and have a couple more parties (maybe one in the summer).

Also, I think the volunteers should have free season tickets.
