£25, they get free gifts and loads of vouchers to take their mates etc for £1. I think family tickets for £20 too if I remember.

It is worth it just to take them to the parties!

yeah, when i think back im lucky i support cov as my uncle tried hard to make me a spurs fan! luckily my best mate at school supported cov so his dad took me and i never looked back

I get what you mean but how do we know that the club would have our landlord's permission to do such events? Who would fund it? For me it would be a waste of money and if children require that much entertainment, then they shouldn't be going to watch sport in the first place!

You beat me to it as like you my dad took me to Highfield Road as a kid and that was great as we were winning divisions,and pop and crisp sessions were put on for us.I don't give a toss about Wasps even though I'm a rugby fan,so all this entertainment means nothing.

That sums up the whole Rugby concept.
They want to make a day of it.
They want to know where they park, where they will be entertained , watch the match and then be entertained again.

It was for me as well, my daughter however was only sold at a Christmas party when she didn't want Jim Obriens autograph because "he keeps getting sent off on FIFA"...

Newcastle just slowed it up so much it was annoying.

As for the point about kids zone, our volunteers do a great job but I guess they are working off donations an people giving up their time. If the club want to put on a big fair ground production then its going to take an investment from the club which I'm guessing with money being tight they don't see it as a priority.

Yeah I've thought this too, plenty of space in the car parks behind the North Stand and would be very easy to set up a number of pop-up bars. Even in the winter months a bunch of marquees would do the job.

It's is not as visual as football and you need to get into the technicalities of the game to appreciate it.
The screen does help 'in the ruck' (I think that's what they call it ) , on the big decisions and does add to the experience.

Kids could take an age to get into it and if left to there own devices would always choose football. IMHO

The thing with going OTT is that kids will just go for the fairground, rather than the football or rugby. When that stops, they wont go.

Think you raise a very valid issue CC4L ........ its about attracting and retaining the youngsters interest. Face painting is a start but giving the youngsters a taste of the sport in a fun safe way is the next step and will get the older kids more interested

Agree with that, I'd be happy to pay a bit more for JSB and have a couple more parties (maybe one in the summer).
