To a point, its all about getting the bank of mum and dad there to spend..... find actually it was good ... kids happy dad happy.... at a sporting event and can have a few beers... If people start to go to see football , they get hooked , its habit forming

Not read the whole thread but fair play to the franchise club....they're doing the right things to engage the nippers. If we're honest, our club can learn from the engagement they have with the youth of today although the stuff the JSB are seemingly doing is great.
One of the reasons we cannot do anything like that on matchdays in the Jag Hall is that Wasps won't let us have it. Although we pay rent, we don't get all the facilities.

If it's empty we could hire it.
Perhaps if we asked they might let us have it and they have the F and B.
Perhaps if we committed to the Ricoh things like bouncy castles and padded areas could be shared.

I'll be honest...I don't for certain.
However, if they've kicked us out of the 'home' changing room and make us use a room no bigger than my front room as a players lounge, I suspect that the Jag Hall wouldn't be included in our rent.
Infact Italia, I'd put good money on it that if they got a nice enquiry for use of the Exhibition Hall on a Saturday, they'd put it on during a Cov game as opposed to a Wasps game.
Oh, and I work in the hospitality industry so I kind of know how those things work...

I don't think it's a case of stealing fans Macca. In Wasps defence, what they're doing with the kids is probably something we could step up a gear and do ourselves.
I'm a vocal critic of Franchise RFC and hope for them to go bust/implode/p*ss off but with what they appear to be doing, I can only command as good marketing. I think that's what people are getting their knickers in a twist over.

I have no issue with them doing it, it is great that kids have fun nowadays without the need for a screen, it is the fact they do it and people get excited about it and don't actually realise CCFC do it and have been for years. There are plenty of posts about it on here, there was about the Christmas party. They tend to get ignored.
It is like at one of the first games of the season, ccfc had about 10-15 kids teams in their kits walking round the side of the pitch with their flags etc. The next weeks wasps did it, there was a post on here applauding it saying ccfc should do things like that for the local kids clubs.....
The same as Maton saying how great it was Wasps were doing things that SBIT have been doing for years.
Wasps could bring in somebody kicking a ball at half time, people would probably get excited and say CCFC should be doing things like that.

I did have a look but there does not seem to be that sort of analysis (mainly spending power) but I would bet I would not lose any money if I wagered that currently it is at least that of the Premier league, but that is not really relevant to the point I was making.
As it stands Rugby at the top level has increasing crowds year on year and even at the highest level there are usually plenty of empty seats where the next generation can be encouraged to go along with parents.
Football at the highest level fills 95%+ of the available seats with the big clubs having season ticket waiting lists that mean you would have to wait years to get one. in this scenario its market forces with only those able to afford the asking price can attend. It has been debated on Radio 5 and reported as to how this is changing the atmosphere at games depriving the viewers of the "atmosphere" and de-valuing their product in terms of TV rights sales. A real example is that Man U have an official dedicated singing section to improve the atmosphere
Where CCFC and Rugby share an opportunity is that they do have empty seats and as such room in the ground and an opportunity to increase their current and future fan base as per the original post. A by product will also be more ticket sales , F&B (they do get a share) and also more merchandise sales. The lower league clubs have an opportunity to be a bit creative a build a younger following because they simply have the room

Our dressing room is plenty big enough. Are old one is slightly bigger so it makes sense that more people who are larger move in it.
The players lounge if its still down there was small anyhow.
We hardly pay rent so it won't be included. But we could book it like anybody else. I'm not in hospitality but even I know that.

I agree, but you attend with kids and clearly enjoy it, I bet its not just the football but all the associated things that it brings in terms of what the kids get out of it, memories and simply enjoying it with them.
If the price went up I bet you would naturally resist the pressure not to go because its not just the money to get in but all the other intangibles it brings.
In short you are fans and no other team will do..and you will continue to go...... whoever or however this started with you has done a great job as its spanning more than one generation.

Yes I would, because I'm a city fan.
I know people who have been to wasps on free tickets, just because they were free. No passion there.
I don't doubt it will stick for a few fans, but if people are used to it being free with a fun fair, they expect it all the time dont they?
I know businesses who have used things like group on and hate it, because their customers only see their product worth the low price. Some come back, but the majority don't when they have to pay full price.

I asked for a kids birthday party, about twenty kids. Was quoted I think it was 400 - 500 for a couple of hours. Not allowed my own food in there, 10 per kid for nuggets and chips on top.

Again I agree with you, but being a fan often starts or is strongly re-inforced by being there. I don't think there is any substitute for being at a game where you care. I'm 50 and can clearly remember my gran being most insistent that there was only one team that mattered. I was a supporter before i went but once I had been to a game I could not support another football team. It has to start somewhere so getting them in young can only help.
God knows why CCFC when I was at school ( early 70's) think there was about two city fans in the class , rest were Liverpool or Man U.. its just one of those things ,no logic just feeling.

Made a lifetime of it. Retired at 50, still get my Jaguar company car and enhanced pension, spend non match days touring the UK in my camper van and match days at the Ricoh while my staff cream in cash and I'm down the casino in a pre match drink.
