Just out of interest does anyone know what odds I would get on Madison first goal and city to win 3-1? I'm having a tenner on it

Bad luck, Madders was given offside :pointlaugh:

Question is how many players do we have on the pitch tomorrow who played for Pressley?

Only Fleck?

This is a very different Coventry City so he has no advantage over us in any way.

It would be great if we could beat SP's new team today. It would be even better if we could destroy Fleetwood in the same way we did buried Bury. If I can get to a bookies tomorrow I'm going to stick a few quid on us to win. Especially if I can get 66-1 :)

Maddison, Stokes, Fleck and RCC were all at the club weren't they? Martin as well if he were to play.

Going for a 3-0 win today. It's my birthday today, so hope the lads produce the goods and give me the best birthday present

Flying back from Norway after a 3am start and heading directly to the game. I hope it's another thriller, otherwise I may be asleep in my seat!

I have nothing against SP, did ok at times but lost the plot eventually.
Will applaud him at first but nothing more and wish him well.
However, I cannot see us doing anything but winning well.
Just hope Tony starts with same team as last time out.

I don't get the applauding him. He's not the Messiah! :)

I think we show him respect by not booing him. Applauding him I would say sends out all the wrong signals.

Just look at how different a side we are under Mowbray and how he wiped away all the pain, dullness, drabness and misery of the end of the Pressley era. Last season I just wanted to fall asleep or top myself. It was dire. Awful.

Stephen Hughes had one very good season. Maybe if he ever comes back we should applaud him for that one season and ignore all the dirge that came after it. :)

People on here moan that we shouldn't clap McSheffey when he comes back, yet want us to applaud a bloke who left the playing side of the club in disarray.

Show him respect by not booing I would say. Don't applaud.

So I woke up this morning and got a sneaky feeling joe Coles gonna score first goal instead of Maddison

I'm not sure about applauding him, he's just an opposition manager
Exactly. Would be very weird to applaud him. It's like thanking him for leaving the club in a right state, with a poor squad and disenchantment amongst players.

Seems clear that people within the club were very glad to see the back of him. Why on earth would we applaud?

Just don't boo the guy and like Nick says, just treat him as an opposition manager, cos that's all he is.

Can see us winning 4-0 today, hope it's more though because I hate Pressley and he deserves to beat 7-0

Sort of struggling as with a couple on this thread as why there is so more vitriol for Pressley -

while the performance at the end of his term was not so hot that -10 to zero must rate as one of the reasons we stayed up - he was in charge - I know a lot didn't go to Northampton - all reasons excepted but we did see some great games with Wilson and Clark making hay and even Connor Thomas and Christie looking like class

So for Pressley I will clap for that - every manager when he is binned is being frowned on by the fans - wont be the first wont be the last

Don't think he is getting much vitriol to be honest. Just people saying we shouldn't applaud him.

I'd you look at some of the things said about him by players and back room staff in tweets, it seems the club were very glad to get rid of him.

Just can't see why he would deserve applause. Did some good, some bad.

If a manager got us promoted once season, but the next season he took us back down again with a whimper and we sacked him, would we then applaud him when he came back? Nope, we wouldn't.
We would be grateful he took us up, but be unhappy for him taking us back down agaon.

Yup, I'd say getting us through Sixfields with some semblence of dignity, deserves a dignified response from us in return.

Appreciation for that before a game and before we beat them doesn't seem too unreasonable.

Don't get it either. He had to go when he did, but in the only full season he had at the club we were only 3 points off where we are now at the same point (points deduction aside) and we played some decent stuff that season. Yes we fell away and last term was desperate. So yes, he had to go, but to be honest I can't really be arsed to dislike the guy.

Agree. We don't need to dislike the guy.

Just treat him like the opposition manager he is.
