I like Mowbray`s football philosophy and want him to succeed. Having taken us this far he surely deserves to see out this season at least before we pass final judgement on his tenure.

A lot changed after May Dong and TM got a lor of financial support but thanks for conceding that it is fair enough

IIRC didn't TM say the other day, that he didn't have a say who comes to the Club. It's niggling at the back of my mind that he said that, in fact I'm sure he did!

No not at all as it it wasn't anything to do with what I was saying. I wouldnt argue with their CEO's if they come out and quoted their playing budgets for the season either.
I would probably only argue if I thought they were over stating the playing budget as it's highly unlikely they would understate it and risk accusations that they have no ambition.

New manager syndrome. Been proven that it can give a club an initial good run of form.
As TM seems to think we only need to win 7 games to make the play-offs then I would say the 2 are not incompatible.

Yes, it's a shite run, yes it's happened to Mowbray before, but perversely I'm actually reassured by that. Yes we might miss out on the playoffs after being in very good position. However, to even consider sacking TM with us 6th in the table is insane.
Oh and there's no such thing as a 'new manager bounce'. Bit like 'you're most susceptible to concede straight after scoring'; it's a myth.

It makes perfect sense when you think about it. As with any job, a new boss comes in, you set out to impress them. They usually come with a fresh attitude and a fresh load of ideas.
Would love to see the stats to say how often it works. Let's not get confused however with the likes of Burton and Walsall, where managers have walked. Talking only in terms of managers being sacked and a new man coming in.

Obviously it is never going to be an exact science, because a new man can take over a very poor side and it would take time to bring his own players in, if that's what he wanted to do.
Our scenario of having what appears to be a good team is something different.
Basically, if you bring a manger in to a poor team he's not going to have a magic wand. But if you bring a manager in to a good team who have been underperforming that is a different matter.

Top or in the play-offs, it's still a terrible run. 4th at Christmas in 2012 and the ended up finishing way down the league in 16th

it could well change our fortunes but right now im happy for mowbray to continue. the squad may not have attributed for different style of football, we have no real plan b.

It sounds like a lot of people want to stay in the short term. I would rather give him the two years to try and build the team. Nobody seems to have heard what he said before the Barnsley game "we need to revise our recruitment policy if we are to eradicate inconsistent performances." He mentioned how other teams had invested a bit of money in transfer fees wisely.

I'm happy with Mowbray too, but if we drop out of the top 6 this season, that will be the third time as manager that has happened to him.
You have to ask yourself, what is going wrong?
If we had our best players sold from under us in January, then yep, could understand, but we strengthened didn't we? Didn't lose anyone.

As I see it, the simple fact is we over-achieved early on & given we, as fans< have been starved of any hint or whiff of success since 1987, we all got a bit too excited & with that, expectations grew & grew....
As things stand, we are still 6th, despite having generally been shite since Xmas.
If we as fans cannot allow TM the full 46 game season.....then we may as well all give up on CCFC & just stay at home watching the dogshit premier league on fucking SKY...because I can't think of too many managers who have managed to achieved promotion in less than a full season!!!

But those sort of things are done behind the scenes and not necessarily in public. I think you have to look at the whole Mowbray package and there is more to it than just results on the pitch in his first full season and two transfer windows.
Yes it might be reassuring if he could really speak his mind about what he thought about individuals. But football mangers can't. He alluded to the fact confidence was fragile before the Barnsley game and said we all have to keep going to turn it around, getting down about doesn't solve the problem.
I think a lot of fans have actually over estimated our ability and going top really created false hope. Results against poor performances from Crewe and Bury helped sustain the myth.
Fleck is not Championship quality. For all their potential Murphy and Maddison are not as good yet as some fans think. Teams are as good as they are on the pitch and not how they seem on paper or in people's heads.

I can't imagine a professional sportsman who is playing week in week out in a team chasing promotion wanting to leave. Something has gone on so the question is do we believe Mowbray that he was a disruptive influence.

Well the only visual evidence we have is that of him berating team mates. That's the only thing we've witnessed isn't it? Having a go at players around him. That in itself doesn't particularly confirm anything though, because we all know he's a very passionate fella.
Maybe, and of course, only guessing, with JOB not playing well himself, TM might have alluded to that fact and that he is in no position to be berating others.
Pure speculation on my part, but everyone else seems to be deducing things. Could simply be a clash of personalities.

to my mind mowbray has to be brave now we are at this crucial point in the season. He seems to have his favourites but they are just not cutting it at the moment. He is forever chopping and changing especially with the likes of cole.
We need a settled strong side with a bit of bite to get us into the play offs.
