A bloke from around here has just been sent down for 3 years after (being high on drugs) crashing his car (his girlfriend was killed in the crash) and doing a runner from the scene.

Nobody is defending it, they are saying there is no consistency. Female teachers have full sex with pupils and get less than half of that?

Totally agree, I don't think anyone is defending the crime, I would have liked it to be longer, however people have been given far lighter sentences for what could be perceived as more serious offences.

Somethings not right their. He was in a position of trust over the girl in the cadets. Had sex with 2 different 15 year olds, got one of them pregnant and gets a slap on the wrist. Hasn't even lost his job!

While it is still wrong, there was only 4 years age difference between them. What was Johnson's 14?

You'll also more likely find that it was the grooming aspect that got Johnson the longer sentence. However, I'd claim that he is too thick to be able to actually do it on purpose.
