Murphy -7- claimed some crosses well, good distribution and couldn't do much for the goal
Christie-6- crossing was generally poor but did well in the build up to the goal
Keogh-8- fantastic
Cranie-6- did ok in his first game back, thought he struggled with the physical style of West Ham at times.
Hussey-7- played well and made some great surging runs down the line
Clingan-8- generally controlled the game against a premiership midfield with Gael and Thomas
Gael-8- Same as Clingan, seemed at times the only player trying to thread through ball to the strikers
Thomas-7-good game, not as quite as good as Gael or Sammy
Sheff-6-not bad, made some good runs beyond the strikers. Would have got a 7 but 2 or 3 times he tried a speculative shot from 30 yards when there were far better options
Platt-8- fantastic goal and led the line well.
Juke-7- Worked hard but never got any breaks today
Baker-7-some good dribbling and showed signs of a good understanding with Gael.
Wood-?-no comment
All in all I think it was the best performance of the season and we certainly didn't deserve to lose. West Ham only started getting chances when the game got stretched, before the equaliser we just needed to keep a good spell of possession and take the sting out of West Ham. Midfield 3 containing 2 teens dominated a premiership midfield and Gael and Thomas can be very proud of there performance tonight. Defence looked to struggle with West Ham's physicality and in particular Cole. I think Baker is worth a start ahead of Mcsheff on Tuesday behind the strikers.
I think Platt is the best like for like replacement for King we have at the moment, both of them play centrally and don't drift to the wings, have ok ball control and a good awareness of players around them and good anticiapation.
If we can keep up that standard of performance we will not be relegated imo.
