And Donny are down barring the greatest miracle in the history of football. They are losing 3-1 at Crewe and will need a 12 goal turnaround to even have a chance of survival.

Exactly! HAD we beaten Doncaster, but we didn't. As I just said, the requirement for us to win 5 games in a row was absoulutely huge. Would have expected us to come short somewhere, but against Doncaster?

As I have already said, we had a chance. Smiley on here was saying we had a 'good' chance. It was never a good chance and out of all the permutations needed it always looked likely that it would be City who wouldn't do their part and get the wins needed.
I had no problem with people dreaming. I myself 'dreamed' of us doing it, but of course the reality was that City needed 5 wins in a row and that was always highly unlikely.
Don't confuse the two.

Hardly Macca. Sheff Utd had every reason to get a win and put themselves in clear sight of a play off place. That made the game a tough one not a friendly by any stretch.

Yes, not aimed at you at all Otis but just gutted that the team, manager, and some of us supporters gave up much to soon. We needed to win 5 in a row to have any chance. I still think the team we have could have achieved that with the right preparation, attitude, and positive outlook. But hey ho.

TM certainly won't be here for a few seasons if we are still in League One the whole time. We stay in League One for the next 3 or 4 seasons and the crowds will surely dwindle.
i think TM will be given one more season and it will be with the remit of a top 6 place requirement.

So galling. Could accept a slip up today with a draw against Sheff U, but to lose at Doncaster? Well it beggars belief. It was a very tough ask to get that top 6 place, but we shoud have at least given it our very best shot.

If TM doesn't get us promoted in 3 or 4 seasons what makes you think he will have offers from championship?
He's had 1 full season and he's improved by about 10 positions

I am not saying that. What I am saying is teams like Burton Walsall Gillingham Leicester and Southampton have built teams over several seasons. Progress and Patience is what I preach and we have made progress. Listen to what TM is actually saying. He predicted the slump. He brought in the best he could. You just spout hypothetical situations each week. I have personal experience of building businesses from scratch. You often go backwards before you go forward. The over view and plan are essential. Rip it up and keep starting again is a recipe for disaster. Ian Wallace saw a lot of positives and I am with him.

Decent performance and result. Did the important thing of scoring early, great goal by Rose. Fortunate that sheff united missed some great chances. Cole was my MOTM, thought thousands showed some decent touches, Fleck played well too.
No point talking about the Doncaster game of what might have been, we didn't win it and if we had of, today would have been a different game with us having to play with pressure.

You need to sit down and talk to him about that. You have had a campaign against TM and started a thread to get him sacked. When people challenged you, you didn't have the balls to admit that was your motive.
This club is crying out for continuity in its drive for success; when TM joined, while he is here and after he leaves. Your knee jerk reaction every 12 months; seriously will hold the club back. Ironically your lamentations over what might have been this season illustrates how far we have come as a team and a club. Small steps that can and should be built on.

Sorry, but that is complete and total bollocks. I have never wanted TM sacked. It was never my motive. Please point me to anywhere where I have said I want him sacked.
The only post I said anything about the matter was when I asked that if we sacked him would it give us a better chance at the play-offs. That was purely and only based on the factor of the new manager syndrome.
I have never wanted him sacked. I am sorry but that is totally wrong and hand on heart I have never had that as stance of mine and I have never had any 'motive.'

Well we will have to agree to disagree.
I was totally behind Mowbray. I predicted 7th pre-season but then when we got in the top 6 I was predicting promotion and quite rightly so.
We started slipping a bit and I still backed him. I did then say that if we slipped out of the top 6 we wouldn't get back in and that proved to be the case.
Not gloating about that, that was simply based on the fact that I believed it would do morale very bad damage and it would be a very symbolic drop out after being so long in.
Of course I then started criticising Mowbray, because I then believed he was making mistakes and the demise was not acceptable.
When we were 11 points clear of 7th I very publicly came out and said that we surely couldn't blow it from there and I honestly believed we wouldn't.
I have criticised him, but I have always said that rather than see him sacked I wanted him to learn from his mistakes and out it right.
I want TM to succeed. I like the bloke. I sincerely hope he's the man to take us forwards. Hopefully next season he will ensure that this doesn't happen again.
No flip flopping there from me. I had faith in him, but when we started doing really badly obviously that faith was tested, as it was with many fans on here.
