Their own distinct identity.
I'd say there would be much more of an identity of both the club and Coventry. How much identity will we have sharing the BPA with a Rugby Club? More than we have currently sharing the Ricoh with a Rugby Club? We'll still be in a ground with a shared identity so what's the difference?

That would be hard to top wouldn't it? The ricoh struggled to have identity before wasps were even there. You assume that will be the case you mean. CRFC to now seem to be in the driving seat on this. They're may well be less CCFC identity than there currently is at the Ricoh.
So we need to show sisu by filling the ricoh, the argument that people who can't be bothered to go now won't get a ticket if we pay Chelsea or it's a fiver just shows there will be more demand.Great location
15k stadium is a terrible idea.
Less with away fans and segregation you are possibly talking 13-14k for Cov fans.
If we had maintained our first half of the season success in the second half of the season that would not have been enough this season alone.
Should be 18-21 k on the first build.
Expansion are not easy and don't happen at the drop of a hat.
Many many fans will miss out if we are genuinely going to make a real go of it promotion wide then a successful championship campaign.
Ultimately if we get to the Premiership 25kbus not enough and we are stuck in a ground with no room for manoeuvre.
The costs of this project you may as well build our own place.
Don't like saying this as the location is far far better for me and I imagine most Cov fans.

Here's an idea, let's show sisu that we need a massive stadium and everybody get their season tickets purchased.
If we fill the ricoh every week then that sends the message out doesn't it?
Hopefully as the telegraph are against the club moving they will back the idea and get a campaign going.
Difference is that it's a partnership, so it's a two-way street where synergies can work. What CRFC have is an identity that's far closer to ours than Wasps. What Wasps are selling is so different to our core values, that branding tie-ups wouldn't work overly well for either party, regardless of your view of franchising. How much identity will we have sharing the BPA with a Rugby Club? More than we have currently sharing the Ricoh with a Rugby Club? We'll still be in a ground with a shared identity so what's the difference?
Wasn't the first proposals for our new stadium something like 12k-15k.
I genuinely do not think that Tim Fisher understands the true potential of this fan base.
I have said it to him before and it's vital if there is a possibility of this Butts thing becoming reality that it is not 15k.
Why wouldn't it? What proof do you have of that? You don't and not do I. That's what negotiations are for. Even it was double 200k I still think that's decent compared to all the figures. We get a couple of 20k gates of doing well again and it pays for itself.
But hey moving to a 15k stadium and stop massive crowds which we beat 15k over 2-3 times last season would be good as we get away from the terrible wasps. They are cocks but not their fault we don't own the Ricoh. It's sisu and ccc.
Your figures don't add up to move to the butts. Sorry.

Yep, agree with that.
Sharing with Cov Rugby is an infinitely better scenario than sharing with Wasps.
Nope.
As I have said many times the past two days, I am happy to go to the Butts in a 15,000 seater stadium as long as there is scope to greatly expand upon that.
Just think people are getting a little too carried away here and the hatred of Wasps has blotted out much of the rational thinking. Even Cov Rugby from the start have said they wouldn't want a 25,000 seater stadium. We know the area is very small, with little scope to expand, the road network would probably be gridlocked without major road improvements and re-building and there will almost certainly be massive opposition to it from Earlsdon residents especially.
I am happy to go to 15,000 seater stadium but it has to be a short term move and then obviously the problem is you are spending multiple millions on a stadium that could prove far too small for you down the line.
If it was Hearsall Common in a 15,000 seater stadium I would be 100% behind it, because there is the capacity to expand greatly there. The Butts it going to conjure up a number of problems because of the surrounding buildings etc.

Look at the hassle to get city badges put up.
What's this crazy obsession with Wasps/Rugby?!!! I have a very clear sense of the identity of Coventry City Football Club. Why are so many people letting Wasps dominate their thinking....they are nothing to do with us in the bigger picture...they are not part of our history. They are merely a transient connection, a stepping stone for CCFC...nothing more!!
The Ricoh was pretty soulless to start with alright.
I dream of Anderson coming onto this forum, like the owner (I know he's not the owner of City) of Kansas City, asking for help and reinvigorating this club.
KC play in a modest sized stadium, have a waiting list for season tickets and have developed a strong, loyal fan base because of opening dialogue with fans and harnessing this passion.
So we need to show sisu by filling the ricoh, the argument that people who can't be bothered to go now won't get a ticket if we pay Chelsea or it's a fiver just shows there will be more demand.
Match packages are still commitments though!I partly agree, although for some of us season tickets aren't viable regardless of cost. I work 2 weekends out of 4 and live in Yorkshire. I've generally stuck to match packages as it allows me to go to all the games I can make.
There are options people in my position can take though, I believe. Think membership gives you priority too.
Match packages are still commitments though!
Of course people work, have families etc and won't make every game.
I'm more on about the people who only rock up for Chelsea.
Well what do Bournemouth do or Leicester I wonder? They must have membership schemes.People with said match package would struggle to get tickets to big games because of those that only rock up to big games.
I agree. I'm all for moving out of the Ricoh as we need to put it behind us and move on, and we need to be able to make money from the stadium. Couple of issues....
- 15,000 initial capacity seems a little small, if we have even a small amount of success will be impossible to get tickets.
- 25,000 if we were premier league would be too small. Needs to be closer to Ricoh capacity.
- Area around stadium seems a little small and would cause parking issues.
I'd personally favour a purpose built stadium with enough land to make some money off the surrounding area too. Finding that land is difficult though.

Oh yeah, genius. We don't need a big capacity then. Sorted.
