Can't believe more teams don't specialise with the long throw in.
Just like Stoke it gets em right up the pitch, and often as not they get the flick on.
I want TM to nominate someone through the summer to perfect the art and take advantage of teams ill prepared for this tactic,
Oh Pepe is a proper arse too.
I'm predicting a ronaldo shot from here!
I wonder what standard Ronaldo got to at Refereeing school!
Resigned before end first lesson...

Shocked though because the entire population of Iceland is 323,000. The whole populace is about the same as Coventry.
That is an amazing achievement for them to make a major final.
If I had known that 30 years ago I would have moved to Reykjavik. And when you just include the males of the right age (between 20 and 40) it's a 1 in 1800 chance of being in the squad!
Pretty much. Slovakia look ok though with a couple of good players (the two goalscorers). Shows how wel Wales played.

Hmmm....
Thing is, it doesn't quite work like that unfortunately, as teams don't put in the same performance every match. Wales did play well at the weekend, but Slovakia were awful. Today Slovakia have played very well and Russia have been terrible.
Bottom line is, Slovakia were dreadful last time out and have played well this. Doesn't just follow that Slovakia have put in the same performance.
With Russia, they set out to defend against us and it sort of worked, but today they have had to attack, their fancying their chances. They lack the pace to make a dent on the Slovakian defence though, thus far at least and therefore they have looked a much poorer side.
You are right of course that no team plays the same two games running. However Russia (until the final minute) looked pretty toothless v us. And that is panning out, so far, today. We let a golden opportunity slip by not trying to exploit their weakness.
Slovakia were no great shakes (and neither in my opinion were Wales)....but today it is very different. If we don't get a minimum of a point tomorrow it will start to look bleak for England.

We played well against Russia, we created a lot of chances, on another day we would have scored 3 or 4 against them, I can think of at least 3 attempts that went straight at the keeper, on another day they go a yard either side and we win comfortably.
I think we have a well balanced team and even though we dominated the majority of the game, never really looked in danger of being caught on the break which bodes well for our final 2 group games
Google say.. Kane takes Spurs pens apparently. One thing the Euros have made glaringly obvious is the value of a designated penalty-specialist (thinking of Romania here).
I wonder if Mowbray is watching and if this fact has sunk in yet?
And who is England's penalty taker if Rooney is not on the pitch?
