I do not think these right wing view are new and just come out with the so-called "refugee crisis" (wonder what would have happened, if it never had been called that way...) - people are just brave enough to show them again...
Right wing crimes numbers exploding in Germany...
Just a question of time until people have to die. Really scary.

Someone already has. Jo Cox. It's the result of preaching hatred to morons. The EDL were very quick to plead innocence but when someone is using a platform saying it's OK to hate something like that was always going to happen at some point.

The rise of the Right across Europe came before Brexit - you have to find another catalyst. I think it is discontent with the EU but who knows? In the UK there have been a couple of reports about abuse on the streets since the vote. We need to find the people and prosecute. The cause may be RW nutters encouraged by the vote; however it could also be that these things were happening before but not reported. Some could also be the far Left deliberately creating disquiet - we shouldn't discount any actions from extremists as possible.

Yes, I was beaten up and robbed for being a Wessi in 1991 in Rostock ( you could recognise Wessis by their clothing then as the shops in East Germany were selling old stock which noone in the West would buy ). Those people were right wing skinhead groups - compiled of losers of the 'Wende'. Their successors follow the convicted criminal Lutz Bachmann's Pegida and vote AfD. The people they are targeting now are the refugees. The AfD is essentially against refugees, but they have now jumped on the Brexit bandwagon and want a Dexit referendum. They won't get it because referenda are not allowed by the German constitution. The last referenda were used by the Nazis and since then there has been no desire for a national referendum. Referenda can result in national disasters if the voters are manipulated by unscrupulos people. E.g. Hitler or Murdoch, Farage, or Johnson.

Mart, you had me there until your Godwin. You know that the last three shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence... why exaggerate, all you do is lose the support you had before?

Sorry Mart but I'd hazard a guess that the Eu falls apart before Britain does..

Put your money where your mouth is, you'd get decent odds on that.

On a side note, my girlfriend and others have now been told they are not allowed to speak any language other than English hospital grounds. Obviously she would only speak English in front of a patient, only in a staffroom, for example.

In this case it is not a Godwin as the last Referenda here were indeed held by Hitler and his propaganda press manipulated the voters. AfD want a German Referendum over Dexit. The modern comparison - also with our results is in this Referendum which is a Game changer - is relevant. Murdoch's press did the same as the German Nazi press in this referendum and Murdoch got his desired result. He now prefers Grove to Johnson. Nuff said.

In reverse, my daughter is getting snide comments at school about England flying out of Europe twice - she is only half English. She is in England next term - we'll see what snide comments she gets there for being half German - if any.

martcov you are clearly confused. Allow me to clarify a few points for you.

1. The Leave campaign was not based on an anti-immigration platform. Leavers voted for CONTROLLED immigration. There's a huge difference.

2. Being in favour of controlled migration or even being anti-migration for that matter, does not make you racist. You seem to love labelling people.

3. Anti-EU sentiment existed in Germany long before Brexit. A Global Attitudes survey conducted in Spring 2016 showed that 48% of Germans had an unfavourable view of the EU. You live in Germany, are you in denial?

Seems quite a lot of people think it may not actually happen

Britain voted by a margin of 52% to 48% to leave the EU after 43 years - and the contenders to replace David Cameron as PM have all vowed make it happen.

But 22% of people polled for Newsnight said they don't know if it will, while 16% believe the UK will stay in the EU.

1. leave campaign may not have been solely about immigration, but a lot of people voted believing it would stop immigration or reduce it.

2. some people are racists - I was in the West End when city fans through banannas and shouted 'Zulu' at black players. They probably voted leave based on immigration. Such People are racists and should be labelled as such. There have been more racist incidents since Brexit.

3. 'unfavourable view' of 48% does not mean Germany is anywhere near leaving the EU. Most People I speak to think we are mad to leave. 14% are AfD fans.

Again this ridiculous notion that people concerned about immigration numbers must therefore be far right lunatics. It's crazy trying to label people. Went out to a Bangladeshi restaurant last night with a group of friends I've known for 30 years, 4 voted Leave, 3 voted Remain. We had the discussion of course and the main theme from the chat is that the country needs to pull together now and that dissenters and speculators are becoming the enemies of both democracy and stability. It seems only those with direct invested interest in the EU persist in trying to upset the apple cart.

You mean the City, the youth, the exporters, the employers and the people who have twigged that they were conned into voting for the elite whilst they thought they were voting against public schoolboy rule?

Don't worry about Ashdown....he accused me of being anti-English for voting remain.

I have been accused of being Anti-UK, but it is the leavers who have inadvertly brought the Break up of the UK into the debate. If that happens, they must shoulder the blame for just another consequence of their shortsighted voting.

No I didn't, I called you Anti English for plenty of posts in the past calling people here racist in general. I could dig them up if I had a mind. I don't care how people voted, it was their personal choice.

There are plenty of racist people in Britain, just like in any other country. Not sure how pointing that makes someone anti English.

Yes, it was their choice - the point being who influenced that choice? BoJo - legged it. Gove - grabbing power. Murdoch - pushing his own views. The views/ interests of an Australian multi billionaire who won't live to be long term affected. Farage - a gravy train rider and opportunist.

I don't think you realise what could come next. You are too interested in - according to you - the 800000 Poles who may only be here for free national health and benefits.

According to you, it's the apocalypse , you're making me nervous now. I'm gonna flick off the sport from the TV and watch out the window for the riders.

I think personally I've actually lost more financially in all this than most but I didn't vote for me, I voted for the future, for future generations. Maybe if you lived here and struggled with getting appointments at GP surgeries, or registering with an NHS dentist, or having had a critical operation cancelled for the second time, maybe had a problem getting your kids in the same chosen local school or maybe even had to battle increasing congestion on the roads to get to work you would see where a lot of the vote came from.

This was in the debate well before Brexit.

Regardless of the result it was Sturgeons mandate, so it has little to do with the vote, more to do with Sturgeons dream

A vote to stay in when the English want to leave landed directly in her lap. Independance would have gone to sleep for at least another Generation - but now it is awake again.

Sorry I disagree, its Sturgeons dream, she wouldn't have waited another generation. If it hadn't have been this to try to reignite banging the drum about Independence, it would have been something else.

I think its pretty poor to blame everyone who voted leave that they will have broken Britain, especially as it may never happen. If it does, having a Scottish leader with that mandate seems to play more a part don't you think?

It hasn't happened and May never happen, but I blame leave for NI and Scotland having an excuse for independance. The referendum was a mistake. There were too many considerations - a straight leave or remain did not offer any alternatives to 100% out.

Yeah me too - I lose by leave in several ways. But I also put aside my personal position to vote for the long-term wealth, peace and happiness of the whole of Europe. I stopped going on FB because of the bile from remain fanatics, please don't let this forum also degenerate into insults about racism. The mere fact that when ppl sling it around others feel insulted surely proves that they are not?

You may as well blame the wind for Sturgeon finding an excuse for Scottish Ind. Look at the name of her party - I'm taking a guess that she wants it irrespective of any other events.

It is not the wind though is it? It is fact that England is taking Scotland out when they want to remain.

The guy is, or almost is, a Nazi. His opponent is a decent guy and I think the Austrians will kick Hofer into touch. BoJo and Hove are mild in comparison. The shockwaves will only be felt if he wins. The error was a technical error in counting postal votes, and no manipulation was found. So Hofer lost the vote and will lose again. Nice to see you enjoying the chance of the extreme right winning something.
If its a technical counting error as you tell us, then why the need for a re-election instead of simply a recount?

I thought you inferred that 800000 Poles were here for our great NHS and schools? Strange, it sounds as if the apcalypse has already started according to your latest description. I would stay in Poland if it is that bad in the UK.

Because that is the law. The possibility of fraud was there - e.g. people counted postal votes alone. They could have binned some - noone can prove it either way.

Oh well, apparently the British people are sick of experts so it's no great loss; all those pesky foreigners working in thr NHS are taking jobs from the British people. Let's train them up over the next weekend and take back control!
