Formal Planning Objection from CCFC (3 Viewers)

I think the council have well and truly pulled the wool over peoples eyes here. They are vermin, every last one of them. They have no regard for the club, the city or it's people. Just their own self interests. Very much like SISU, only difference being SISU are called out for it.

You only have to go back to 2007 to realise CCC's modus operandi. Who was the preferred bidder for the club? The one who wanted no ownership and hoping to buy and sell on within 2/3 years. CCC saw them as perfect opportunity to continue the cash cow. It's only now that we aren't this easy source of income for them that they've decided to try and drive us into the ground.

How much has the Council had from the club?

You say stood up for themselves and call SISU bullies. Yet then claim it's nothing to do with morals? You think SISU are nasty bullies? The baddies to the councils goodies? So how was my post incorrect?

Because I never said anything about morals and bribes
You did.

I think they took the tough path as oppose to the easy one.

I would suggest such people don't really exist or if there is the odd one. Are they really a point worth raising?

Here is a comment from a regular on CET who reckons he has been a fan since 1962;

"Grendel you are hammering a dead duck in your support of the hedgefunders who have virtually destroyed our club.I support Higgs 100% for the very simple reason that the late Alan Higgs invested an enormous amount of money in Allard Way to help underprivileged kids.It was working beautifully until CCFC and the odious SISU got their sticky fingers in it. From that day forward it has been nothing but arguments and disputes.SISU have screwed up big style on this venture They picked on the wrong boys when they choose Alan Higgs board of trustees. P W Knatchbull-Hugessen stitched them up at every turn and made them look amateurish.I mean you only have to look at the recent objection to the planning application.Three weeks late and they cry that nobody told them about the clause relating to court action. Court action is about the only thing that SISU do apart from further distressing companies on the slide and Higgs stuffed them, BEAUTIFUL I LOVE IT. Do yourself a favour and quit whilst you are behind, your support of the losers SISU is making you look rather stupid."

A bit extreme but he doesn't say anywhere that he wants his football club to lose just to get at SISU.
Or that he doesn't watch CCFC.

He is addressing you personally please don't tell me you are bothering with the CET section.

Honestly when I looked it was obvious it was a bunch of 6-7 people just wumming each other.

Somebody else on here saying they wont bother with CCFC, they will watch local football...Yet are outraged about things.

The point I am making is that it is incredibly rare.
The times it gets mentioned on here. You would think there is a majority or at least a significant amount of people who would like the club to lose in order to get at SISU.
Or who are no longer fans of the club.

It's nowhere near as rare as you are making out.

People read the CET like it was written by the good Lord himself.

Yes the CET is rightly the most popular paper in Coventry.
However the comments section does not represent the readership.
It's just a handful of loons winding each other up.
Most like me probably didn't know it existed or if they did, didn't bother reading it.

Interesting piece on R4 this morning, Chief Exec of Mirror Group on, he said he hoped printed versions would continue 'for about 10 years', most title losing readership year on year.

FYI Observer is a midget in comparison, its online presence is weak, hell their website was down most of yesterday.

The thing is, you come on here so you see a wider range of views.

To a normal every day person who just opens it up to read the news, they would very much think that is what CCFC fans think.

I just don't think they are reading the comments section though.
Or I hope not I was genuinely shocked when you mentioned it as it is just comical.
Firstly I don't think people are reading it.
Secondly I don't think people would take it seriously if they did.

The observor cracks me up because les' articles all come with a pre written caveat at the end. Explaining the history of the troubles from his completely biased stance.
It's funny so you have an article about for example planning application at the Higgs this will get about a third of the story.
Then comes his copy and paste afterwards effectively accusing everyone of a conspiracy to shaft the club. That gets about two thirds of the story 'whatever the story is.'
It's quite amusing really.

I am sure all the craziness, idiocy, stupid comments and wumming have declined significantly since you have gone on there to give them your sensible balanced views.
It will be a very boring rational and factual place now, no doubt

Lots of people read the comments on news websites.

People do take them seriously as what people think. The same as they would on the articles about schools etc.

You can't tell me someone would read that lot and not realise it's just a handful of numpties winding each other up

Say you went onto for example the Sheffield News website and you saw loads of comments you would get the impression thats what they think as a complete outsider who doesnt know the ins and outs.

A lot of people on there are misinformed and don't really backup an argument. Whereas on here people don't agree, but their argument isn't "baa" when they get proven wrong :)

To be fair I had a quick look
As haven't bothered since that day you mentioned it.
When I looked back then, there was about 5 people just abusing each other it was riddiculous.
Just looked now and a couple of people were making sensible points
Then Grendel randomly has a pop at one person about his user name.
Apart from that the comments were sensible not wumming from what I could see.
Just a quick look granted.

As I say you would fit in there. You share a lot of views with Garry Riva and co. You'd fit in well.

They are very sensible. When challenged one impersonated a sheep a lot.

Interestingly though you and everyone on here fawns over my every word.

Genuinely I would read the article
I wouldn't read the comments section (maybe that's just me)
Then I would search for their fans forum to get the gist of the fans views.

Having now seen the reporting by Les Reid I would definitely go to the fans forum as well. As I have now learnt how misconstrued an article in a local paper can be depending on the bias of the journalist.
If someone from Sheffield googled a CCFC story and an article in the observor was all they read about it that would be interesting!!

So yes I read the article then look at the forums especially when it's about opinions on players

The Trust is today writing to the CCC Planning Committee asking them to reject the proposal until suitable arrangemets have been made regarding the CCFC academy. The thing is that the CET choose which articles they allow the comment section to be enabled on. There have been occasions over the last couple of years when they disabled the comments area - in particular articles that were not complimentary of Wasps or CCC.

To be honest they should just be removed from the articles - or at least moderated by someone who is not a complete fucktard.

I will put up the Trust one as soon as I can but in reality it is better if people write their own personal objection. Obviously it cannot simply be I hate the council so stop it or I hate Wasps etc but there has to be some reason and thought behind it.

Unsurprisingly Les Reid's articles no longer allow comments, never seen one supportive comment attached to them, yet the ripostes he got were generally considered & not moronic. He does not like to be challenged, can't take it.

At least he stands up for CCFC which no doubt is why he irks you so much.

I can see one of my Councillor's there. I suspect they could be persuaded to delay matters for consideration if they get enough flak.

I think its about time that the Coventry Supporters used their votes to remove councillors who do not support the CCFC plight
