Interesting to read CCFC are trying to iron out the finer details of the McBean deal. I'll be good to have him in to compliment Dan and Marvin.

I've heard talk of it being a loan with a view to a permanent signing if all goes well

Mowbray said there's no rush as he won't be going straight into the first team.
Sounds like Mowbray has an eye on the future, strange for a man who is apparently on the verge of walking away every other week!

Done deal: 5 month international loan -
edit - according to NewsNow site, but CCFC website says 'page does not exist'

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that Jack McBean who has joined the Sky Blues on loan from LA Galaxy is over in England to develop his game.

Mowbray said about the 21 year old: “Jack is a young player with potential who is over here to develop and try to progress his career.

“He’s played all of his football in the US leagues and will need a certain amount of time to adapt to the physical demands of the English game.

“Jack will spend some time with Nicky Eaden in the U21s side to work on his match fitness and we’ll continue to monitor his progress in line with the needs of the first-team.”

have signed Jack McBean on loan until January.

The La Galaxy second team striker has signed on loan until the middle of January but has made 19 appearances in the MLS.

The loan is subject to international clearance.

"The Coventry Telegraph understand that LA Galaxy striker Jack McBean is still set to sign with the Sky Blues on loan.
The 21-year-old is training at Ryton as the club work out the deal and we can expect an announcement in the coming days.
McBean is expected to go into the club's development squad rather than the first team."

This was link that disappeared, Cov Mad posted it.

So what are CCFC getting out of developing players for LA Galaxy?

We get David Beckham's hairband.

On a serious note it's not clear if we have a option to sign him or if this is a cash free loan where he gets a taste of the English game and we can play him in the 1st team when we like.

Why are we developing other teams players? Got better things to concentrate on.

If it's true that he's only in the development squad for us, I don;t get it either. If he's not ready for the first team, how can it help us in any way? Must be more to it......

Is it with a view to a permanent of just to develop him? Pretty sure I read somewhere that an average non star MLS player only gets paid £20-25k pa, he'd get more as a back up league one player

Now reading it careful it seems he's going to train with the U21s to get his match fitness up and the will rotate between u21s and 1st team when needed.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Friday, Aug. 19, 2016) – The LA Galaxy announced today that forward Jack McBean has been loaned to Coventry City in England’s League One for the remainder of the 2016 MLS season.

“Jack is a young and talented player that has continued to develop within our club,” said LA Galaxy Head Coach and General Manager Bruce Arena. “We think this loan will put him in a position to help reach his potential while providing him with consistent playing time against strong competition.”

McBean, an MLS Homegrown Player, signed with LA Galaxy on June 22 after an impressive start to his season with LA Galaxy II saw him score 12 goals in 14 games. With LA Galaxy this season, McBean made two MLS Regular Season appearances and two U.S. Open Cup appearances.

“We will continue to monitor Jack’s time on loan at Coventry City as he progresses both on and off the field,” said LA Galaxy Vice President of Soccer Operations Pete Vagenas. “We are confident that this environment will allow him to grow as a player.”

McBean originally signed with the LA Galaxy in 2011 as a Homegrown Player. Overall in MLS, McBean has made 19 overall appearances with two goals and two assists. At age 16, McBean became the youngest player in LA Galaxy history to play in a game, start a game and score a goal. In his first ever appearance – a match on the road against Houston on Oct. 23, 2011 – McBean scored a goal while playing the entire match.

In 2015, McBean signed a USL contract with LA Galaxy II, where he excelled in two seasons with Los Dos. Last year, the LA Galaxy II MVP led an LA Galaxy II offensive attack that registered 39 total goals over the regular season, scoring six goals and adding five assists in regular season play. McBean also recorded an assist in USL postseason play, helping lead Los Dos to capturing its first-ever USL Western Conference Championship and first ever USL Championship appearance. His three-game winning goals were tied for the most for Los Dos that year.

Agyei, Sordell, Thomas, Thomas, Tudgay, McBean

Armstrong, Fortune, Tudgay, Henderson, Thomas.

If Agyei can be what Armstrong was for us then I'd say we have a better set of strikers this year than last year though that's a big if.

So reading the articles he suggest hes here to bump up the numbers in the u21's. I remember mowvray saying last season he would fill out thr u21s with one or two trialists due to the large numbers of youngsters in the first team and not wanting to bring in the younger ones into the u21's until they're ready.

We really got lucky with Armstrong being fit for most of the season.

If Dan gets injured we are back to square one. Sordell is already injured, Kwame sounds like a long term injury, Tudgay just doesn't seem at it anymore due to age, George isn't good enough.

Seems a bit of a waste of a loan spot unless it becomes a permanent or he actually plays in the first team

Can't get my head round why we would take a lad on a 5 month loan for U21s for him to develop, probably play 2/3 games in the first team and then head back the States. What is the point in that!
