Your post shows exactly why you are a naive fool (amongst others on here).

Lets quickly deal with Wasps. They are the same as Sisu apart from the fact they seem to be able to take care of business. They saw an opportunity as businessmen and took it and to this point that decision seems to have been a success. If you were in business like they are, you would have done the same. But you're not. You only work in sales and PR for the Observer.

Onto the council and this is where you really become naive. Council are politicians and what do you really expect? Politicians tell us all the time that they are thinking about the best interests of the people they are supposed to be representing. But what we actually know is something completely different. How many of the cities population actually actively support the club, a very small percentage and why would the council think about us first before everything else that goes on in the city. There is plenty of things around the world where governments and countries far bigger and more important than little old Coventry are willing to let races, civilisations, animals and the climate go to shit so the absolute outrage on here about Coventry makes me chuckle at times. The council are partly to blame for where we are but when we take off the sky blue tinted specs, should we expect politicians in Coventry to be any different to elsewhere? They do not have a direct responsibility to CCFC and CCFC alone. Our owners on the other hand do............

But I support CCFC that is why I'm on a CCFC forum writing and supporting CCFC. Why should I take off my "sky blue tinted specs". You're one of those fans who really excuse anything any one does to the club...apart from the owners...That's why we're different. I know we don't live in an ideal world, I know councillors are politicians and do stupid things constantly and mark my words their decisions over Wasps and the Ricoh will be the stupidest of the lot.

You live in your world and I'll live in mine.

Are you purposely just splitting hairs or do you really just not get what I'm saying in my response to Torch?

But to answer you, I didn't say people have to or should like what Wasps have done but at least you agree that it was good business. And before you say anything about me, I don't like what they have done but can see why they did.

Onto the last bit of your post. I would say significant would mean way more than half and considering how many people live in Coventry, you're way off the mark. I am talking about Coventry and a fair few fans come to watch us from outside the city and I would say that Coventry council gives even less of a shit about them.

But judging by your last post, I'm sure you'll try and find a few more hairs to split.

Not splitting hairs just discussing your post.

And I don't agree that a significant amount would mean more than 50%, though if you do that's your opinion and I respect that.

Don't you see that SISU's "Break even" is killing our Club? Or is it TM and MV really aren't good enough to make a "Silk purse out of a sows ear" Go and have a quiet 5 minutes to yourself and think about it Nick ;)

It is the same as pretty much every other football league club trying not to make a loss.

Where do you suggest the money comes from and what happens if it doesn't work?

Maybe you should have a word with the people on the threads about liquidation about killing the club...

When you see the quality on the pitch that is shit compared to previous CCFC teams(This is sunday league compared to last years squad for instance) and see we are going to be in a relegation scrap this year, would you sit back and let it happen? Or do you do what most "Savvy" Football Club owners do. I'll let you work that out for yourself.

We won't be in a relegation scrap.

As somebody most eloquently said in a earlier thread... And you can guarantee that can you?

You're the kind of supporter who wants us to be just so you can tell us you were right.

A little lesson for you Torchy. ,I grew up appreciating how the Football system works. I'm Coventry born, and the "Sky Blues" will be a part of me till I draw my last breath. As much as I love my team I think logically, ie- Are our owners doing enough for my Club to see us get back to where I, in my heart, feel we really should be/want to be, playing Football.(Obviously Premier league) The last thing I want is relegation. My turn now..... You're the kind of supporter that lets shit owners get away with anything, and everything, then claim... "We're living within our means" Don't you want better than L1 football? or are you happy in your little world of "We're self sufficient" and don't mind playing in a shit league for the rest of the forseeable future?

we all want owners who throw money at the club, but surely not if it means loading the club with debt they can't pay, we know where that got us before.

I'd love us to be a fan owned club, but if we were then we would certainly have to live within our means, would you not be happy with that model?

Here's something for you all to chew over guys... Not guaranteed, but would go a long way to getting there (Premier league) A big incentive is "Speculate to accumulate" even a few million pounds could do it :)
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...uch-is-premier-league-promotion-really-worth/

how much do you think we'd need to speculate to compete with the teams with the parachute money and big spending teams like Forest and potentially Wolves now they've been taken over?

A fan owned Football Club in the Premier League, mmm let me see :angelic:..... £200m guaranteed for promotion to the Prem and £100m parachute payment on relegation. That's a mahooooosive profit SISU could have before selling us/giving us away to the fans. Yet inextricably can't see a bit of cash investment for decent players might just get them what they want:facepalm:

Yes, at least 100m by the time we have bought and wages to get to the prem

It's madness the way some people go on without really understanding, usually the people shouting.

Here's a thing... Burton Albion not a massive outlay(Promoted)...Bolton(£100m parachute payment from Prem now playing L1) go figure!

to get out of league 1 wouldn't require that much, (Bristol City pissed the league with a 5m outlay), but turning that sort team into one that gets out of the championship requires serious cash.

Yawnnnnn. Burnley won promotion after spending £500k on Charlie Adam and £4k on a left back... Serious cash that eh Clit?

We are putting together a great crop of youngsters. They might need a season or two but it is the way to go.
Players who the badge might mean something too.

To get rid of SISU we need to owe as little as possible to them. We have to live within our means. We can only realistically grow by expanding our means.

they'll always be an exception, Leicester winning the premiership for example, but it general, you need a lot of money to get out of the championship, especially if you've come up from league one.

Or "Get in first" when players are there ready to buy/loan. I'm f**king sick of reading "We missed out on the preffered player"

seriously? About 12 to 18 months.

Really!... I'd say at least 8+ years. This Football Club had a team capable of promotion to the Premier league around the time SISU took control. What has happened since, Oh wait a minute.......

Oh, and didn't they just not only get promotion,(Burnley) but won the league again?
