It's correct that Coventry Sphinx have been around for a while and have made progress to Step 5 in the Non League Pyramid. Cov Utd are now in the same Division (currently below the Sphinx). The accusation that Coventry Sphinx have no ambition is not true but we do live within our means unlike some non league clubs out there. Sphinx are ambitious but will not put the club at risk chasing a dream. A small increase in attendances can make a big difference at this level and we've already seen an increase in attendances in the early stages of this season. We as a club are full of hard working volunteers with alot of those also supporters of Coventry City.
Well I've meat the owners of Cov Utd and they're not faceless cunts like ours.So what you are saying is if the owners swap places all of our issues will be resolved?

So is that a yes or a no?Well I've meat the owners of Cov Utd and they're not faceless cunts like ours.
So is that a yes or a no?
Forget if you've met them or not, or even if they are a nice bunch of people; do you think they can run this football club?

Which was also a weakness SISU tried to manipulate. Our strength is its a one club city.
Yes they could, no problem. So is that a yes or a no?

The Sphinx, I wonder if they would be interested in ground sharing . :jawdrop:The Sphinx have been around forever. They have no ambition and are going nowhere. Cov United at least want to get somewhere. Coventry need a viable second club, lots of cities and towns smaller than us have them.
Sisu didnt know where to start but more relevant they are clueless on finishing. They couldn't - they wouldn't know where to start.
Oh I bet they could do better then your bed mates. They couldn't - they wouldn't know where to start.
To me it is another in a long line of events indicating an unwillingness to want to work with SISU as all they will do is stitch you up or screw you in court

Come to think about it a bit like our strikers they financed.
Is that relevant?Cov united opened talks in 2015 - I assume you know that?
Is that relevant?

What makes you think that out of interest? What makes you think that just because they can do it in non league and then make the step up?Yes they could, no problem.
It is interesting. Don't bet against Coventry United picking up the golden share one day.Interestinhttp://www.coventryrugby.co.uk/2016/09/09/statement-on-coventry-utd-fc/g statement from them:
"Coventry City FC have known about this development and have expressed their support."
How would that work? It would be their owners buying our club wouldn't it?It is interesting. Don't bet against Coventry United picking up the golden share one day.
Brilliant post. Sphinx are a club close to my heart. People need to realise they have reached the step on the pyramid with limited resources. Without increased consistent backing all that hard work could and would be undone after a season. They have representative sides from 7 year olds upwards which is a brilliant achievement in itself. Cov Utd do not have that depth yet but I wish them all the best. It's correct that Coventry Sphinx have been around for a while and have made progress to Step 5 in the Non League Pyramid. Other than the golden share what is there to buy? I think SISU may just walk away at the end of next season, I can see no evidence of them being interested in football at present. The golden share is a right to play league football, I think they could transfer that to football people in the city and walk away. They get to keep their legal proceedings, whatever they are worth. How would that work? It would be their owners buying our club wouldn't it?
Are you suggesting they would buy it, change our name and colours?

FYI they play each other boxing day. Sure to be a cracking match.
If the club ceases to exist that will be it the share won't be reallocated to someone else so the only way they would get it is by buying the club, presumably out of administration. What you're describing is a similar manner to how the Pompey supporters trust took over, the league told the administrator they would not consider issuing the golden share to any other potential buyer.Other than the golden share what is there to buy?
Cov united will find that being promoted beyond the division they are currently in, will be unlikely if not impossible. It's correct that Coventry Sphinx have been around for a while and have made progress to Step 5 in the Non League Pyramid. That is the same for every club.Cov united will find that being promoted beyond the division they are currently in, will be unlikely if not impossible.
With only 1 team promoted each season the risk of overspending and then finding yourselves chasing the one spot could be a disaster.
Cov sphinx have to bear this in mind , not only for the 1st team but the hundreds of youngsters who play there.
As you say , you can dream but unless you have money to burn or have a lucky season , the dream stops here. That is the same for every club.
But you have to dream and try and be the best.

It's entirely relevant - you stated an unwillingness to work with sisu which implied that's the reason they are playing there. It isn't. They wanted to move - no changes need to be made in terms of ground alterations and they move in. It's nothing to do with sisu you buffoon.
I don't disagree with any of that and it's no silver bullet. Struggling to see a way out of this mess to be honest though, as I suspect are our owners! If the club ceases to exist that will be it the share won't be reallocated to someone else so the only way they would get it is by buying the club, presumably out of administration. But you also take on the debt, sure it will probably be on a pence in the pound basis but there will still be debt. And you will inherit all the player contracts and, if there is one in place at the time, any stadium contract.
So lets say SISU walk away at the end of the season and Cov United buy the club out of administration. What happens then? We still don't have an academy base, we still don't have a stadium deal, we're still a L1 club without access to revenues other clubs have.
It (the golden share) can be awarded to anyone the FL deems worthy I think? They do this to keep the numbers right throughout the FL. That doesn't automatically mean another club in Coventry though! If the club ceases to exist that will be it the share won't be reallocated to someone else so the only way they would get it is by buying the club, presumably out of administration. I honestly think its being driven by CCC with Wasps as front seat passengers, together they are a very strong partnership and in a very strong position within the city now. I knew about Wasps way before Sisu moved the club to NTFC, a plan to move to the Ricoh had been in place for a very long time before it happened. Sisu days are numbered in this city and them moving to Northampton allowed all to gain what we see today, while Sisu thought breaking a lease contract was a great idea, the others involved were plotting the move and sealing every avenue for them to come back with no leverage around any table with any party within the city.
The above is true, which what makes me think CCC and Wasps are the instigators and have a bigger plan, what the plan or overall outcome is i would be guessing then?. And this is where me a a certain few disagree, time will tell us all, but something is going to change and a decision or action to force Sisu out will become very clear. Remember Sisu have said it already "the club is being forced out" they have worded it as the club, the ones forcing it are quietly doing it as "forcing Sisu out".
Nick will be onto me again but time will make me out to be a liar or a David Icke follower!! either way im not really bothered, we will still be in the shit but all still want the club to be the best it can be.
For the record, I don't make out you are a liar I agree with most of the thoughts.I honestly think its being driven by CCC with Wasps as front seat passengers, together they are a very strong partnership and in a very strong position within the city now.
