Selling the training ground (1 Viewer)

What's the outcome in your opinion?

I happen to agree but I don't know when and what this outcome is. As Nick agreed with us also something has changed this week. Every story since Tuesday has been negative towards sisu.

It won't be long now until sisu go now. Might take another year or so but its on the cards.

I said there was more to it the moment it was said, the whole behaviour has completely changed as well as the attitude of people at the telegraph. They are revelling in it all. It would be very strange behaviour if they actually thought the club was about to die and they were posting gifs about it...

I used to play for Brackley Bill my ugly bald mug must be on the pictures from teams in the early eighties.
I was brought up and lived for many years in nearby Croughton and also Brackley and I went to there last game of the season when they beat Tamworth to stay up.
Anyway back on track ,what we need is a full statement explaining what the club plan to do, once and for all. This uncertainty is helpful to no-one ,the fans need some answers and truthful answers only
Hey, that's great Rev. We moved to Brackley in the early 80's - I celebrated the '87 FA Cup win in the Crown Hotel! Didn't watch the Saints much until recently, but I'll check out a photo from your time and try and guess who you are. As you say, back on track, I don't think we can trust anything Sisu say so I'm not sure if any statement the club makes would mean much. They're just doing the last bit of asset stripping by the look of it. Anyway - PUSB!

History? It was bought in 1980 I had been watching CCFC for 25 years by then!

Any way - "The centre wasn’t a success however, and some years later the then Chairman John Poynton sold the Connexion for a fraction of its initial build cost"

That is John Poynton - Who now bankrolls Jersey Rugby Club ( CT quote )

It was the early 1960s when Coventry City Football Club moved their training base to Ryton. Their now legendary manager Jimmy Hill wanted to improve training conditions for the players, and help preserve the Highfield Road pitch, so some land was bought in Ryton for the purpose.
It was Connexions which was not successful and was eventually sold by John Poyton

Couldn't agree more Nick. I just saw that conversation on Twitter between Simon and rob S our mentioned. very strange. They aren't the best of friends I think it's fair to say.

No, I agree with that.

It is just very strange, people will bang on about tin foil hats but when I say it is like they have been let off the lead, it really is like the way my dog is when he hasn't been off the lead in a few days. The way the telegraph are paying people to sit there all day literally just tweeting celebrities and stuff. The way they are posting gifs and smilies about it all.

Something really doesn't make sense with it all.

I think I would be a bit naive to think they know about a fantastic new owner who was coming in, however good it would be!

But then why be all Arsey and smarmy about it? It's like the CT know sisu are going and now don't care that they piss them off and send out stupid gifs to rub it all in? Very strange

Because they have lots of people behind them don't they.

I said it was all very strange at the start, yes it would be amazing if they get sisu out and we have a new owner and live happily after and I'd be the first to say how wrong I was etc, but there is more behind it.

I can understand if they are all glum as if the club was about to die, but they are absolutely loving it.

So what do you mean? You're saying they know of a buyer? SISU are definitely going?

What else would they be so gun hoe about?

You were saying they could expand Ryton, they aren't going to be able to expand it by selling it!

I said he was looking at purchasing land around ryton within a few hundred metres, didn't realise it was actually ryton

I have no idea why they are doing it. They seem quite happy about it, so I would hope it is because they know something we don't.

Quite a few on here including you and me have been saying for a while Somethings
going on, this week confirms it for sure.
My only ( OK not only ) worry is I just can't see SISU caving in and walking away, so
Has someone discovered their Achilles heel, maybe the FA have manned up and
given them an ultimatum.
Time will tell but at least there's movement.

And what point are you trying to get at in my post?

Perhaps he is suggesting a National League 3 Midlands Division rugby club has been better ran over the years than Coventry City Football Club.

Let's face it. SISU aren't going anywhere until Ryton is sold at the earliest now.

That might not be that far away. And they can still sell the land and piss off without a house being built.

As Bry said above some thing whatever it is is happening and fully expect more stories to come out next week. What has changed to get the CT fully against sisu now? Why now? Is it the selling of ryton? Or have the FA or FL grown a pair finally? Or a new buyer is in town? Sisu have declared an interest at companies house to go?

Who knows but something has changed!

And that had what to do with my post, as he aimed it directly at me?

does anybody have a rough idea of the percentage increase they could get for the land with planning permission for the houses granted as opposed to selling it without planning permission. I appreciate there are probably several variables to consider but just a rough estimation.

Well, the plan is quite clear now, isn't it?

They're off and they're taking as much of our club with them to recoup their losses. This development is very worrying, indeed.

What makes it clear they are off though?

It's a matter of opinion, I suppose, but it just screams of cash-in and run to me, Nick. SISU are beyond even pretending to give a shit anymore, what with their recent behaviour.

But would it be cashing in and running when they were trying before? That's what makes me think it isn't a desperate end game because they are cornered.

It just feels different this time. Besides, in my opinion, they're not exactly cornered or having their hand forced, they're trying to do it under the radar but failing.

Don't you find it strange that since SISU turned on the Coventry Telegraph news starts to leak out! So who has been holding back then?

Who backs them and who makes excuses for them?
Cancer ffs. Go and have a word with yourself you big queen.

On a thread where we hear this news but still no viable plan from Sisu about anything, only they're selling our training ground you come on and say that rather than say something about Sisu and their complete lack of any plan or vision. Yes, Covmark you're not backing them but by making posts like you did above continually then can you see why a few people make the comment you've reacted too?

And to come back and say that you don't need to because there is enough people on here who do give them shit is a massive cop out.
