So fucking what? Why does a union have to dictate where the SBT open meetings are? Been there plenty of tines and no hassle. The Im Offended generation up in arms again...

No one would really want to go to a place like that which supported those movements would they?

You need to have a good think about things mate, or are the you not bothered about the feelings of your fellow supporters if they're not white anglo saxons?

Absolutely. Which is why I took the stance I did regarding Steve Brown and the Rochdale protest march. It's the thin edge of the wedge.

I could have told you about 5 years ago, longer than that, that the royal Warwicks hosted far right meetings. BNP etc.
I used to play pool in there way back when my dad worked at the post office. 20p a game. Soon after it came out we quickly moved on.

You're quite right.

Perhaps the most repulsive thing I can recall is that the Holocaust denier David Irving was scheduled to appear there in 2007 (he cancelled after the event became public knowledge).

A lot of people in Coventry are well aware of the right wing events that have been hosted at the Royal Warks.

Makes you wonder why it was chosen by the Trust.

You take it as a union dictating where to hold the meetings as opposed to a support that's supposed to be inclusive not wanting to use a premises that's used by right wing groups?

Loving the fake outrage. Where was the protest idea meeting a few weeks ago? Wasnt the Trust CWR forum there too? Funny that nobody was too fussed then. Maybe just maybe a non white City fan attended and wasnt lynched and hung from the ceiling!?

Talk about fiddling while Rome burns...

You're really not getting it at all, it seems to be going right over your head.

If you're typical of trust membership, who can't see why holding meetings in such a venue is a bloody stupid idea, then the trust is fucking doomed.

Anyway, the trust have moved the sodding meeting, which is entirely the right decision, so ain't it a good job they do actually sort such things rather than leave a massive great fucking open goal for people to shoot at.

didn't know about the Royal Warks hosting fascist meetings until this thread so could hardly comment about it before.
The trust have changed venue so wouldn't have commented on this thread if it wasn't for your silly comment about the unions.

Like it or not, and I'm beginning to sense in your case it's not, we are a club with a multi cultural team and a multi cultural support in a multi cultural city.

No supporters group should have anything to do with an establishment that puts the welcome mat out for neo Nazis.

On a side note, I'm fairly sure members of this regiment lost their lives fighting the Nazis, bit of an insult to their memory to be holding these sort of events.

Thing is it has been bailed out by an Indian publican.

So what are you trying to say?
I drank in the liberal club once funny I have never voted for them.
I have also been in the local mosque and various Sikh Temples funny that being a practising Christian.

Funny how you know about all the events held there I have never even heard of these people.
52% of the racists in this country voted for brexit and another 25% back that antisemitic Corbyn.
So which one are you?

I have been in the Royal Warwick's club before and was not aware of any of this right wing stuff.

My mate ran a few events there and they were all about classic British TV of the 60's and 70's, showing episodes of long lost TV series and rarities.

The only people we ever saw in there were war veterans from the second world war, sitting with their medals on sipping beer. All very sedate and civilised.

Well it's all been cleared up now, and the venue moved. Fair play to Moz Baker and Co for what appears to have been a good move based on public opinion. With this hurdle out of the way there should be no reason anyone who has passion for CCFC cannot attend.

I do get your point about publicity and pr etc...but again, there wasnt a peep when they had the last two meetings there and there isnt now apart from this thread!

Just one question. Are Royal Warwick's Club seeking out Britain First etc. to put on events at the club or is it a case of due to discrimination and freedom of speech laws they can't turn down a booking from these parties based on their political leanings? Two very different scenarios.

No like most clubs I believe they are struggling to survive so rent out the room to anyone.
I went to a wedding reception there last year.
Looked like normal guests to me.
All bar one anyway.

Indeed. As it happens the date is more convenient for me than the original one ;)

There was, read the thread back. That was before the last meeting but nobody picked up on it.

And is it better it's picked up by 'friendly' people, then those who are opposed to the trust and might wish to cause it trouble...?

The venue's been moved, an own goal has been avoided, all is good... surely!

I knew about the right wing events being held there because it was in the Coventry Evening Telegraph years ago and people have mentioned it in conversation. The thing about the holocaust denier was also in the Coventry Evening Telegraph. If you want to become more informed you can go to the Herbert you can look up old editions of the Telegraph.

I'm not in either of the groups you define... but I suspect you are.

It's a general stab at the atmosphere throughout the forum, not specifically this thread.

Don't get upset so easily.

I'm not sure why you think I'm upset, your comments are very strange.

And I think there are as many people on this board expressing right wing opinions as there are left, however, I think the majority of them are equally appalled by groups like the BNP.

Because you showed that you got triggered by a passing comment.

My comments only appear strange because you don't like them...

Just because you keep saying I'm upset it doesn't mean I am, but if it makes you happy, carry on!

You suspect what you want.
As a European I did not vote for brexit.
One of my Grandads was killed in the first world war and my other grandad was killed in the 2nd by the Nazis.
My fathers brother (my uncle)was killed by the Communists.
So believe me we have fought the fascists and communists and Nazis all our lives.
I would not support any of the Bastards.
As for you not being in any of these groups you are just another one in denial.
