Ha, really? Probably went mental about car parking prices too, Fisher ripping us up.

It's no wonder people get so angry and worked up, when they just make shit up and others believe it.

The prices were high because we didn't negotiate a better deal with ACL. Also Wasps prices were different because they did better negotiating, and the fact they own ACL was immaterial.

Unfortunately that's the sort of shit that gets peddled so much and people like that shout the loudest.

Yet when the CT do an article
That is titled

BBC Price of Football 2016: What is the real cost of watching Coventry City?

The article points out that we pay the most for a pie and a cup of tea.
It then points out that it is important
To remember compass set the prices not SISU and the club only get 15% of the profits.

The article says we are average for season ticket prices. It even points out how more expensive the likes of Southend are compared to us!

It shows a picture of the tool the BBC have used to work out the cost of supporting Coventry City.

There is one line about the cost of replica shirts and match day programs that puts us at the top end.

Most of the article from me reading it is pro club and anti compass.

Highlighting the reasonable cost of Season tickets the fact that compass are ripping the fans off on beverages and the club are not even benefiting from it.

Yet in this forum. This article is highlighted in a thread under "Telegraph spin. "

Dave posts this

"Good one in there today. Every club in League One apart from Fleetwood charge £3 for a programme. In the CT article this becomes 'City also top the League One charts for the most expensive programmes"

For me the spin is Dave picking out one line about the cost of matchday programs and suggesting the article is part of spin by the CET. That for me is the real spin here Dave not the CET.

Sorry chaps but if you are going to slate the paper for spinning surely you need to come up with better examples like this and not your own spin!

How many people do you think bother to read to the part that mentions compass?

Capture2.PNG

Or how many just look at the graphic accompanying the article?

Do you look at that and think Compass set the prices or that only 1 team in the division has a cheaper programme than us?

You missed this bit:
The Sky Blues also charge the most in the third tier for a cup of tea, with supporters having to pay £2.50 for a brew.

How do the sky blues charge the most, we do not sell tea.

Try to set your preconceptions aside. Read the article as a whole and answer yourself truthfully.
Does that article represent going against the club. Or is it quite balanced and actually shows the club overall in a good light.
If they were spinning against the club in this article. Surely they would not have mentioned that compass set the prices.
Also why point out how the likes of Southend are far more expensive than us on season tickets.
( I take it on those parts you think the CET is spinning for the club!!)
Sorry Dave you are way off the mark here.
The one line you pick out comes after the compass comment.
So yes I do think someone would bother to read that. If you think think someone would bother to read the matchday program bit below it. You can't have it one way.

Also which will people be more concerned about the cost of tickets and their food and drink. Or the £3 program.

It is hardly a great spinning point for the CET against the club. Whereas the reasonable ticket price and blaming Compass for the cost of food and drink is very good PR for the club

How many people bothered to read the article at all ?

The CT get plenty of publicity on here and as a result get plenty of clicks.

I didn't see the article until it was mentioned on here. Even then I struggled to find it looking at the web site

Not you and Nick by the look of it. You brought the article up in the first place spitting feathers over 2 lines rather than taking a balanced view of the whole article and Nick proclaims it as "any way to kick the club when they can". Easy to get angry and talk of conspiracy theories when you pick and choose what you take notice of in an article if you bother reading it in it's entirety at all.

Think you missed this bit

"It is important to remember however, that Coventry City do not set the prices for food and beverages sold inside the ground. Compass catering are responsible for providing food and drink at the Ricoh Arena, and the Sky Blues only receive 15% of the revenue."

Maybe not that clear is it?

That's just oldy whoever that is spinning the story like Dave has done here.
The story itself is not anti club.
It's just others spinning it that way. Or as above using it to be anti club. When the article clearly isn't

Nobody is angry or saying it's a conspiracy theory. Strangely it only seems to be you who bangs on about that one?

And we all know why , SISU would sell your SOUL TO THE DEVIL . :greedy::greedy::greedy:

You said and I quote "any way to kick the club when they can" only they didn't kick the club.

Isn't really a good idea of it all is it? The bit about topping the charts makes it sound like we are the most expensive, where we aren't. The same as on another thread it was saying about the shirts being the most expensive, where it isn't.

And yes, they will try and kick the club whenever they can. Have a look at how they promoted it on Social Media ;)

Oh, and on the subject of spin.

This whole 10% to Charity line that the Trust are also pushing to sell Simon's book and it's his cut. You could make more than 10% on each one from buying it retail other than amazon and not being the author.

Saw that actually :) You are right about this article, nice little addition at the end though to push Simon's book.

Still, they didn't approve my comment saying a signed football would be a great present :(

I think that's more down a slow news day, as it's followed by "Coventry Related Christmas Gifts" that feature 2 tone business cards... :)

In fairness, you've summed up most people there. They'll see a couple of lines and come away thinking that Fisher is pocketing a load of tea money. Like what has happened. Whether it was intentional or not on the part of the article writer I don't know nor care.

I don't disagree FP. I just found it funny that posters who are usually the first to shoot anyone down who mentions management fee's or all the transfer fee's are being taken out of the club to keep Joy in handbags while feeling all superior and educated on all things CCFC are making misconceptions on articles in the CT based on the same principle that leads people to believe that believe that management fee's, all the transfer fee's are being taken out of the club to keep Joy in handbags. Failure to read and/or take in the details. After all, the devil is in the detail.

What misconceptions are being made?

The club's a mess and going nowhere, oh well let's give a load of stick to people who complain about it, like the CT and the Trust, as if it is their fucking fault....

Exactly right.
No more needs to be said really.
