The pigs, the march, the funeral, all good ideas - how keen on them were you?

The pigs was outside the box, fair play to Charlton for that as it was away from the usual stuff and looked good.
Funeral, I didn't see it personally, but a bit pointless really.

Are people sitting down and thinking about how things will work and what the outcome aim is before doing things?

I'd love for the ground to be filled, not for anybody else's sake than CCFC / players / manager. 3PM on a Saturday is when our fans are most together, however saying "for it to be unity you have to agree with me" is everything I am saying is wrong with the thread and it's where compromise comes in.

If people don't want to go to games or boycott outside it is up them, the challenge is to make it so they can relate to the people who go into the ground rather than the "us and them" type thing.

The things I have mentioned a fair few times in other threads are no way going to get SISU out, the same as 5 or 6 men dressed up with a coffin isn't but the aim is to bring the fans together a bit more.

The petition will do nothing at all apart from a bit of vanity and get a book promoted by people like the Trust sadly. Same as the "Bring City home" stuff where they jumped in at the last minute to try and claim all credit for everything. People keep obsessing about the media coverage too much, sadly not many people really care.

It's a heartbreaking demise of a once proud and defiant football club.
Why are SISU so stubborn, why are they looking to flog off any assets the club has? Why will they not invest enough to get us out of this God awful division into a position where gates increase and we might, just might start to make a bit of money? Why do they treat both the fans and the history of the club with total disdain? Making enemies seems to be their speciality. I hate them and I hate the game, for what it has become and the casualties that were traditional clubs at the heart of their communities being flung on the scrapheap.

Brilliantly put, which is why so many people won't renew next season. What was once a very difficult decision for a lot of people out of loyalty to their club against the seemingly uncaring owners has actually become a very easy decision for many people - the loss of the stadium, the academy, Ryton training ground. As you say, the community is at the heart of any successful club but we have been treated abysmally.

I think we have to be realistic - getting rid of SISU will not in practice rid us of our problems. We were in dire straits before they arrived and a simple change of ownership will do nothing immediately to change our circumstances.

But.

There's no question that with an announcement on new ownership, with a team of 4-5 backers and a proper board made up of enthusiastic people, with a some fulltime directors and a clear, publicly announced and credible sounding action plan will deliver a sea-change in attitudes amongst the fans. This will likely also be the case within the club; my suspicion is that there there is a malaise within the club whereby nobody, from the catering staff at Ryton through to the players (whose confidence must be shot through now), manager and directors, where everyone being negative rubs off on everyone else, and the defeatist attitude is passed on and inherited throughout the faces that come and go through the CCFC resolving door.

New ownership would offer a natural break to that on the basis of a real fresh start, especially if baed by investment, a sensible deal to the stay at the Ricoh, a re-structuring of the business to make us more competitive and sustainable, and above all else passion and commitment from the very top. Tim Fisher isn't the evil clown he's made out to be, but his lack of enthusiasm and the fact that he essentially has a day job doing other stuff speaks absolute volumes - and Joy hasn't appointed any other full time execs to run us either. It feels to SISU like we're an annoyance and a pain, but new owners with a real passion for the team would inspire the fans and players.

I'm not calling for fan ownership as I do not consider it workable and nor am I able to name who these mystical people are because I don't know if they are, but we're in agony as a fanbase at the moment and things like the march yesterday do a great job of articulating our feelings; if that hastens the departure of the current board and makes the scenario I mention above more likely, then they have my support.

Pretty much.

Unless they have silly money to come in, it's going to be the same situation of actually having to have revenues before they can do it. Even then we would still be in League 1 and Championship at the very very most as a yoyo club, some fans will still think it is 1994 and we are in the Premier League.

But it's about creating a hostile environment with as much discontent as possible that will make life uncomfortable for them (always assuming they care, which they may not) and make it more likely they will sell sooner than they would otherwise. I'm surprised that this isn't obvious to everyone but apparently it's not.

I don't think that anyone who does a protest e..g. a march, demo, sit-in, loudspeaker outside Downing Street seriously thinks that one action by itself will mean they automatically achieve all their aims. But taken as part of a concerted campaign, that's how change happens - look at anything you like from workers rights to political parties to votes for women to Brexit - none of these things happened because of one single action but instead because of thousands of people each contributing in their own way towards the same goal.

Don't get me wrong, I won't "do a Nick" and be all negative about any suggestion you make of positive fan action to campaign against SISU. There are good ideas and bad ideas but it will show you have at least tried. Come on....

Nobody is lashing out or squirming. I am quite comfortable knowing it's a fact I have spent a fair bit of time coming up with ideas and posting them on here, not sure why I'd need to squirm about it?

I made a suggestion about everyone taking whistles to the match but of course people are so engrossed in getting one over someone else that it has gone unnoticed. It's very effective, cheap, non violent and anyone can do it. Still, who gives a toss.
