It's not amazing Torch, as some have already alluded to in past post TM was only on 1600 a week with the max earner on 2.

It's also not amazing to of predicted this exact situation we have now. It's not so much about wages it's about why anyone would think taking this job is worth it Regards all aspects of the club.

Do you mean the expert manager who has a history of slumps?

We need an experienced old school league 1 manager, if it's big man little man up front and kick the shit out of them for a 1-0 then so be it.

It's simple... Russel Slade.
Saved every club he's been to. And if/when it all goes wrong, at least we survived that season.
Tho the man knows a free transfer when he see's one!
I honestly believe Russel slade would have us competitive in this league in no time. Survival this season, competitive next. He no's the level inside out and would not be like TM and waste time waiting for a unrealistic target to turn on his word.

But what is an experienced manager ? Is Hasselbank, young but with moderate success under his belt and yes a fail st QPR. I'm not advocating JFH for the job by the way but as said what is experience? The bottom line is whoever we get needs the proper backing and support from our owners.

Experience is somebody from the lower leagues who can work without being about to buy players, they have links with lower league teams and contacts there.

We aren't in the Premier League, so all we get is Micky Quinn who talks about the premier league day in day out saying "they dont even buy players" when it's the same for how many clubs in League 1? People get so focused on big names, status and budgets but don't notice when the manager signs 2 left wingers (one for a fee, the other will demand a decent wage) and plays a striker there instead. It is about making the most of the budget, knowing your system and making it suit the players available.

We need to play to our advantages, watching AFC Wimbledon they had 2 lumps up front and played to their strengths. They didn't put the lumps up front and expect them to be like Messi with the ball at their feet.

Big man little man combo does the trick for me. No one else think that sordell will thrive off a brute of a target man. A Alex Revel, Tom Pope type.
I'll take ugly route one football for the rest of the season if it means a chance of survival. No point in "playing" football and not getting anything from a game. Goals win games
And it works at this level

That's the thing, it's about getting the best system for the players you have.

Why bother signing Reid and Jones and then not player wingers, why sign 6 or 7 strikers and play 1 up front?

The discussion about the actual football side will get missed :(

Ok Torch what do you think TM was on? and what do you think they are willing to pay a new idiot!!. I know what is was, i'm not guessing..

Lastly we are not an attractive club anymore, managers out there talk to each other as do agents and will be looking at risk worth reward personally and professionally and Sisu are not worth the risk on either count. You can keep blaming past owners about our current state. I posted months ago Venus will end in disaster not only on the green stuff, but our owners will panic and try to sell fans that they are forward thinking and looking to turn the ship round, when we all know its doesn't matter who is steers the ship the captain is always in control of the direction it takes.

Tend to agree. I think he's a little too flash. I'd rather have Cotterill or someone similar. Still, it would have been nice to have someone rather than Venus in the dugout.

I'm not sure about JFH. On one hand the sort of personality that will put the fear of god into some of our poorly performing players. He's the sort of guy who won't accept fools lightly. On the other hand not sure he has the temperament or experience to cope with a club in our position.
