Nope I agreed with one point and said another point was possibly right, the pitch invasion, but didn't actually disagree with it.

Disagreed on impact on game, shouting sisu out protests, impact on players and ability to attract new managers. Conceded he may have a point on investors but may not.
So you agree that the Chambers bloke is an idiot then?

Regardless of what his views are being confronted by three or four people is hardly fair, is it?

Similar comments are here; everyone one is entitled to their views but not him as he's an idiot. And no, I don't know him and I didn't hear him last night.
Try listening. You will understand then.

At least Mr Chambers created debate on this tired programme.

He made certain basic points

1. The club statement was appropriate and had to be done. Yes this is correct. The club has a duty to prevent invasion onto the pitch during games. Failure to do so again would have severe consequences for the club. Already a fine will be forthcoming. It is unlawful and the club have to act.

2. People were frightened by the protest. He is correct on this. There were some who felt the atmosphere was intimidating. A couple near me looked visibly shaken. I didn't - I thought it was funny - but some didn't.

3. People shouldn't chant "sisu out" as its detrimental. Well, I don't see it having a negative impact. Freedom of speech providing within the law is not a problem. Players should not be distracted. I don't think stopping games is a smart move but chanting and banners go on in several venues.

4. The invasion led to the team conceding a goal. No one has a crystal ball do they so no one can answer. Delays happen - a player could have had a bad injury - the timing was unfortunate but no one knows.

Managers and owners may be put off - his opinion. Not managers I suspect at all. Potential buyers may view as negative but it's all opinion. Nothing massively controversial.

It's his view. I agree with some bits and not others. Still he attends and deserves to give an opinion on these matters without ridicule or insults - does he not?

Blimey! have I been drinking? A sensible and well reasoned post by Grendel that I can't really disagree with.

On point 2 specifically, factually correct. I noted a couple of children leaving with parents visibly upset. I'm assuming the atmosphere inside the ground was the cause unless they'd been whacked for asking if they could come again.
Perhaps Mr Chambers was following on from Tim's comments in which he too drew on the fact that youngsters were upset. Can't really argue with it, but then there is generally a toxic atmosphere around the club. Parents taking their children to the ground do so in the knowledge that some idiot nearby might kick off. I might want to shout at Tim Fisher from the comfort of my seat opposite but if a young child is near me I need to account for this before deciding what level of ferocity I employ.

Ah yes, because I think 3 or 4 people to 1 and going to where he lives and posting up his address is a bit unfair?

Also the bit where I said it would be the same if it was "the other way round"?

Crack on then, maybe if anybody abuses anybody and says things about going to games they should have their personal details posted and something put up by their house to show them where they live? They can then have 3 or 4 people approach them?

Bob Latchford sits on here hammering people for going to games etc, but I wouldn't want people turning up at his house about it to leave things to show him they know where he lives or 3 or 4 blokes approaching him and then wondering why he looked a bit worried. That would be unfair (Bob is an example).

Still, no doubt it's just people with their morals and principles who think it's great.

Where did I post going to someone's house was right. Where did I say having an opinion is wrong.

All I stated and really saying is, if you stick your head above the parapet and be controversial or try to provoke others then he be pepared to duck when negative comments or actions come back your way . Something tells me he quite enjoys the reaction, I bet he loves seeing his name on here. The guy is an attention seeker he loves being in a minority and will be always fall on the side of the lone warrior by the sounds of it.

In fact I bet he is the one claiming to be a victim although his actions create a negative reaction. Sounds familiar, sounds like someone we all have heard before.

Just listened, don't think he was as outrageous as is being implied on here. I disagree with him somewhat but as Grendel says he goes to the games and deserves an opinion. What I cannot relate to is the next texter who said season ticket holders are the problem. I have been for the last 10 years and will continue to be a season ticket holder until this club dies regardless of any protest. Supporting the team comes first and going to the games is the reason we are all here.

You didn't mention the bit where I was disagreeing with his points back in the thread when you said I was pleading his case either.

A negative comment is a bit different to people going on about him shitting it when approached by 3 or 4 people and how ribbons were put up by his house and his address posted online.

It's amazing there isn't as much outrage at the bloke blaming season ticket holders.

It's quite funny really, just goes to show if you shout SISU out you can do what you want and anybody who disagrees is fair game. God forbid anybody gets banned from going to games for running on the pitch during a game, but say anything about SISU out and you will get your address posted online and people popping into your area to make a point and it's great.

The point is that unless something changes you won't be able to get a season ticket or go to a game because the club will be gone. If everyone followed Pete Chambers philosophy, fans would meekly watch the club they love disappear without a peep. Like most on here I go to games, I support the team, I want to see them win. I will also join in any protests, so long as they are peaceful, even if they disrupt the games as I would like to still be going to games, with my sons, possibly with my grandchildren in 10 and 15 years time. If Sisu stay and are not challenged I cannot see that happening.

Why will the club be gone? People have been saying this for the last how many years?

Scare mongering, tell it to the people who are hoping for Liquidation.

Have you noticed we are going lower each year? Have you noticed that once the training ground is sold we have nothing but a golden share that has no value, players worth hardly anything if anything at all and the name CCFC.

Not looking very good is it? Can anyone remember it as bad before?

If you are in the wrong place at the wrong time, football matches can be intimidating for children & adults alike at any game.

I've seen some of the clips on YouTube etc. and it did look a little aggressive in the stands at time, prior to the pitch invasion.

So you agree that if you ever say 'SISU out' or consider any sort of demonstration you should never go to another game?

You can see the club staying alive if this downward spiral continues? You heard Fisher last Friday. Break even is all. It doesn't matter how many fans attend, what league we are in. Sisu must not lose money. If they are still here we could have pitiful attendances next season which will lead to even more cuts. When there is absolutely no value left in the club what will they do with it? It is likely we will be out of the league with no stadium, no academy, no training ground and very few fans. If they stay what will be left? Scaremongering? A look at the future I think.

I never mentioned anyone's name or was directing my opinion at anyone on my original post on this topic. I was talking generally about guys like him who are open, loud and normally controversial to create a reaction.

If you think it's wrong he gets a reaction by a physical or verbal means, I understand and agree about his house visit. But if true at NTFC, he stood and ridiculed anyone for not going in then he is looking for reaction and should expect problem in what was a very emotional period. This same feeling is coming back, lots of anger, frustration and bitterness to those who decide going is the right decision to make.

I happen to think that this Chambers bloke was talking rubbish, as he has done in the past. Supporting the way the club is run currently is pure idiocy as it can only make things worse.

What was really stupid was his assertion that the pitch invasion cost the team a goal, as he said Sheffield didn't look like scoring. Was he watching? They had just hit the post twice and had one (or was it two?) cleared off the line. They had come back strongly late on and looked like winning it. The pitch invasion was more likely to have broken their momentum, but that reckoned without our schoolboy defending from the restart.

Chambers is, of course, entitled to his opinion, no matter how stupid. It's a good job only a tiny minority think like he does or we could end up playing on the Memorial Park in a few years.

I've spoke to loads of people who think we were on top before the pitch invasion mostly people who watched on tv. I completely disagree, we were on the ropes and the break should have helped us. I guess we'll never know whether they would have scored if the pitch invasion didn't take place

It was end to end, they had just hit the post twice but we had a better chance that Sordell missed.

One thing that doesn't seem to get mentioned is how the pitch invasion was done at the same time as the minute's applause for Jimmy Hill.

If it had been say 30 seconds after kickoff like the pigs were then I'd say a lot less would have issue with it.

You probably read the post before somebody tried to twist it and say I'm defending sisu and completely ignoring the bits I've said I don't agree with that he said ;)

Fair play to Fisher as he really laid it on the line this time and made it very clear that he has no feeling for CCFC as a club, has no regard for what it means to fans or to the City of Coventry as a community asset. There was no disputing that Sisu will hold onto the club for as long as they like,no disputing that they have no regard for the primary purpose of its existence, to bring joy and excitement to the people of Coventry and Warwickshire. ( yes, I know that doesn't often happen). To them our club is an object, a thing that they will hold onto for as long as they can see it being of benefit to them ( no one else), and then they will discard it. I think the protests are about the very future of this club, not about crap games, teams or managers or league position. So in my view not scaremongering at all.

It is scare mongering if you say the club won't be here..

How many months have I been saying about nopm and how it's only going to damage the club and not sisu because of the break even stuff? That's why I'm not sure why it's such a shock.

It's common sense what he has said, it's just not the way he said it.

to irish sky blue ....I disagree, i think they are the words of a bully who is backed into a corner and throwing a tantrum, he said don't support we cut the wage bill....fair enough...we get relegated and brand value drops...same again less people attend less income they cut cloth again ...we drop etc etc, they only realise the dept when we go bust hand have nothing to show for their "investment" or they sell ...to get anything back they need get a price ...which in his own words we are at break even...they need to sell now really to get something at least or risk nothing as they continue to cut back

yep, but despite all that, despite the fact that crowds have gone from 20,000 plus down to 7 or 8,000, they're still here and are now achieving their main aim, to make the club at worse break even or perhaps even turn a profit.
That suggests to me that falling revenue matters not one jot to them as long as they can keep cutting and keep out of the red.

Not true, NOPM will not damage the club while 8K-9K still go, but once you go down to say 4K-5K, the none movable outgoings will be too great to sustain. There will come a point when SISU will have to start funding it and they won't like that.
