I never get the argument that it's a free ride. If it was, then all our managers would have jumped straight into stellar jobs on leaving us, and gone from strength to strength. Only one who escaped was Robins, and that was because he jumped while his stock was high. Bet both Pressley and Mowbray wished they'd done the same...

We've got a manager now who fits exactly the template for where we are. He's a firefighter who's used to dealing with cray owners, and he pulls it out the bag more often than not. If we crash and burn with him in charge then surely, *surely* we have to accept it's as much the tools the manager's given as the manager himself?

(And someone has to hire the managers, anyway. Devolve responsibility upwards and we stop repeating the same mistakes by heading for a scapegoat. And that applies throughout the club. Ultimately it's the owners who cause the poor recruitment as they put in place the systems to allow that manager to be here in the first place)

I found TF about cutting the budget if income drops a strange one. I mean what is the lowest the income can be for the club to be able to run week in week out, year in, year out. At what point does the club become unattainable for the owners to hold it?.

If they fail to pay players or staff under contract or fail to fund enough players to play fixtures surely the FL have to step in.
So at the current model TF runs must have a sliding scale which he can move within, but at some point the wriggle room and minimum he has to have kicks in.

For those wanting a change of ownership sadly this base has to be hit before Sisu go, I would of thought the gap to failure on running the football club on the pitch is way closers than the gap to success. It's a viable business as of now, going off what Tim said, TM and staff wages have saved the club a few quid. But now with Slade's in, results and gates have to improve as TF no matter how blasé doesn't want relegation, as that tipping point becomes very much a reality of Sisu throwing in the towel or having to invest.

Let's be honest here, there's clubs that play on a park in front of one man and a dog, it can always get worse.

I'd wager that with no fans at all, they could still put out a team and break even. Probably a team of academy kids and nobodies, but a team nonetheless. Weren't Pompey down to that sort of side at one point and the FA didn't step in?

All it would take is a move to BPA on a dirt cheap rent. Sack everyone, have Tim Fisher pick the team, play a bunch of kids on no more than £500/week, shut the academy, train at the Memorial. I reckon you'd break even on TV money alone.

I'd wager that with no fans at all, they could still put out a team and break even. Probably a team of academy kids and nobodies, but a team nonetheless. Weren't Pompey down to that sort of side at one point and the FA didn't step in?

All it would take is a move to BPA on a dirt cheap rent. Sack everyone, have Tim Fisher pick the team, play a bunch of kids on no more than £500/week, shut the academy, train at the Memorial. I reckon you'd break even on TV money alone.

Accrington one season had about 200 season ticket holders, and were still able to compete in the division below.

It ain't great for us, but it's pretty obvious our owners are prepared to go that way if needs be.

Confirmed by the ribboners roads in Cheylesmore were ribboned if his road was ribboned it was one of a number. Who were they "targeting" when they ribboned Radford,Wyken,Stoke,Longford,Foleshill,Whitley or the numerous other areas of Coventry?

God, I'd kill for a bit of balance, a mix of kids, journeymen league 1'ers and a couple of grizzled old hags, to lead us to midtable a couple of seasons in a row.

They moved back to the Ricoh because it had been sold to Wasps. We only went to Northampton to devalue the arena.

So you think Wasp was the only driver of that move, although i think that aspect played a part it was and is not the only reason the club came running back,, they had too. And the reason SW was pushed forward was because our Tim had made stupid statements like that ship has sailed, no looking back, we are on to building our own stadium....

Another factor that may of played a part in the move, was the inability of them attracting players and keeping players which has been admitted by the club. That is strange in the fact they cared then about that ability then, when now its we are hearing its not about the standard of player its about the budget falling into place with the income.

I think the move to BPA with 2000 is TF fantasy safety net, but that will bring even more bad press SISU'S way and Tim fisher will have to keep putting his face on the national platform defending Sisu and the direction they have taken the club. Notice when the man is on he only ever says SISU when he is asked about being paid by them, never does he highlight them other than call them the owners of the club. The guy is a better spinner than Shane Warne, he can tell me over and over again he is cutting the budget to suit but sooner or later the FL will step in before its too late...

yep, but despite all that, despite the fact that crowds have gone from 20,000 plus down to 7 or 8,000, they're still here and are now achieving their main aim, to make the club at worse break even or perhaps even turn a profit.
That suggests to me that falling revenue matters not one jot to them as long as they can keep cutting and keep out of the red.

Yes their main aim is to run us without making a loss. But their aim wasn't to reduce gates and income. They have been trying to bring decent managers in. They could have done this cheaper.

Not true, NOPM will not damage the club while 8K-9K still go, but once you go down to say 4K-5K, the none movable outgoings will be too great to sustain. There will come a point when SISU will have to start funding it and they won't like that.

I suspect that if it comes to the point where they have to fund the club or let it die, they will realise that the game is up, there is no value to be extracted, and they will let it die anyway.

I think TF takes bad publicity with a pinch of salt. Main thing is breakeven. Up until now, cutting costs has had a higher priority than increasing revenue. No sign of that changing.

Anyone with half a braincell that works on reasoning knows why.

We went to Northampton to devalue the arena. They even admitted so in court. Nothing illegal in doing so. They were warned that they were not the only side interested. It seems that they either didn't believe CCC as they refused to negotiate or they couldn't afford/were unwilling to take on the loan secured on it.

So they were left with the choice of staying in Northampton where most of us wouldn't go or move back to the Ricoh.
