The results and poll would have been more interesting if it was ST holders not renewing.

Otherwise it's like me saying I'm not going to buy a ST for Villa if I didn't have one anyway.

The thought of even one penny making it's way to Fisher in any form is nauseating to say the least. Fisher is a vile individual.........doing just what Joy has ordered though............only with too much relish and spite !

Which is why there was 2 polls on FB.

I hope we can all agree on the following:
* If the purpose of this poll was just to see how many people plan to renew/buy then it didn't need a poll, just a 'Yes'.
* If it was to gauge deterioration in support from season to season then the poll is flawed in letting current non season ticket holders vote.
* marcusp and covman are utter bellends.

BUT the OP wanted to compare the results to FB though and so combined their two questions into one as presumably you can't have 2 polls on one thread here.
QED he has his results to compare, however pointless the process of getting to those results is.
**CLOSE THREAD and back to arguing on all the others.**

Not really, Nick, as this is a Coventry City forum for Coventry City fans.

Can't see the relevance at all to going to watch someone elses team. Don't get that at all.

As I said before, maybe there could have been a 'Are you renewing/buying and what are your reasons for doing so' question.

Then people would have said 'Not buying and didn't have one this year either.'

This is what the reply button is for, people could of answered the poll, then gave the reasons why they choose it. Nothing has prevented people from doing so ;)

No, I agree.

I do think it was wrong to list people who said yes as a sort of outing, but at the same time any of us could simply look at the poll and see who said yes anyway.

And it is not that big a deal, because as has been said, we don't know each other and these are all aliases we use.

It is relevant if they didn't have one or have never had one.

How is it?

Not going to argue the point with you, Nick, but this is a Coventry City forum for Coventry City fans.

Even if they have never had one you would assume that they had been to some games over the years and watched the City play.

The likelihood of a City fan getting a season ticket for the Villa is so remote it holds no relevance.

Let's agree to disagree. I know you are not Grendel, so hopefully we can leave it there and not do eleventy billion pages on the matter.

At the end of the day this is a City forum for City fans.

I agree it is a CCFC site, but when people had no intention of a season ticket anyway with or without SISU, bottom or top of the league then it's not far off me saying I'm not buying one for villa.

Unless the person who lives in California who voted is going to commute ;)

i can understand the point about non st holders not voting but OP did put buying in title so what can you do?

So me saying some people voting are as relevant as me buying a villa season ticket stands doesn't it if people have no intention of buying one anyway?

I can't name one person who wouldn't want to go every game if SISU left, not one!

I agree. I said a similar thing yesterday about having a poll if you are intending to buy an Annan Athletic season ticket next year. People have voted no who have said they haven't had a ticket for years and don't intend to get one. Seems a bit pointless.

No it isn't that is a stupid comment, I reckon everyone on this site has been to numerous City matches but only a few have been to a Villa game when City were not playing.

Make a new poll, see how many people would buy a ST if SISU left the club completely.

Yes and I am just as likely to buy a villa season ticket as some are to buy a ccfc season ticket with or without SISU.

I wonder if Timmy is reading this. He will have some explaining to do to Joy.
I wonder how many season ticket holders went on the pitch

Who has actually voted no. We have the list of who voted yes.
Some may have thought it was a secret ballot.

I voted no, and they can all fuck right off

Wow, another bitch fest.

Firstly, hats off to anyone who is willing to buy/renew next season. I think it would actually be quite fun having a SBT block at the ground, but I probably won't be getting a season ticket.

The declaration with this is that I didn't have one this season, but I was extremely close to getting one. I enjoyed the football last season, and despite going to about 22 home games, I didn't actually have a ST. I was therefore, thinking I would make more financial sense of it and get one this year. However:

- The prices went up.
- The squad got considerably worse.

I delayed, thinking I would probably get one once the transfer window had closed and we had a full team. I was apprehensive of parting with a considerably inflated price, and was worried about how poor our team looked in comparison to the previous year. It was especially weird that they ceased sales before the window shut, (whilst I blame TM & MV) there was something strange going on, I mean why would they stop people giving them money? I did think season tickets might come back on sale, but took the risk (many fans didn't). Low and behold, people rushed to buy their season tickets, the transfer window closed, and we were left with a shocking squad and a desperate swoop which included a footballer worse than me, Andre Wright. There was no further option to get a season ticket following this at any point, and looking back on it now, I'm extremely glad I didn't.

I would consider getting a season ticket next year, regardless of league, if:

- The prices are affordable to me again.
- The team is a good enough one to give the league a go.
- Tickets are still on sale at the start of the campaign so I know I'm not parting with my money and then getting fucked over.

I have a season ticket and have had one for donkey's years, except for the season at Northampton.
I have not decided whether to renew next season but the following factors will influence my decision
1) what happens on the field, of course. Relegation, if it comes will not be the crucial factor, it will be if our beloved owners make any effort to build a team ... seems unlikely.
2) the number of matches on Saturday afternoons. I live 30 miles away and midweeks are difficult. There have been only 6 Saturday afternoon home matches between the start of the season and January 21st. That's nearly six months. In that time we will have played 18 home games. 6 out of 18 on a Saturday afternoon. Sorry that's of little interest to me.
3) family ties in Coventry are weakening for me and a home game or two over Christmas was combined with seeing family for years for me. This December is the first time since 1969 that I have not been in Coventry.
There will be others like me who dragged family members to the Christmas fixture. None this year and those ties are fraying for me and many others.

I must admit the lack of Saturday games had been an issue this season.

To clarify, I have a season ticket, have done for many a year ( Northampton aside) and I'm not renewing for next season. My lad has not missed a game since his 1st on 26th April 2008, a 1 all draw V Wolves (Northampton aside). He will not be renewing. As things currently stand my brother and Dad are not renewing. Whatever the decision you make, then it's yours to make, you should not feel persecuted for your own view. For me, the club is in a horrendous place, I've grown up watching us sell our best players time and time again so it's nothing new ( Terry Gibson was the first hero of mine to be sold) however we were fighting to survive at the highest level possible. Over the last few years I don't believe the owners are interested in that. What's the point in toddling along, we live in a competitive world, we dont just want a football club for the sake of having a football club, we want a club that's at least trying to do something, whether that be fighting for promotions or once again establishing form roots with this city. We don't want to be the kid who gets a medal for participating and coming last. Where as the owners seem to want to own the club without taking any responsibility for it. There has to be clear leadership at the club, once that's in place then the fans will slowly start to trickle back.

Another thing, why does everyone feel the need to clarify the question of the poll. It's not meant as a piece of market research. Ultimately if many people are voting no, the club ain't likely to get money from them whether they are renewing or not previously a season ticket holder.

no fans on here would ever think about buying a ST for AA or villa etc
most on here would think about it every summer for ccfc even if they have never ended up buying one so far.

Seems fairly clear to me. A pretty straightforward question to a group of people who are presumably fairly keen on Coventry City as they are on a fans forum, asking, in the light of the current situation, who is likely to renew or get a season ticket next year.

Result pretty clear as well. Something like 84% are saying no! So unless something changes Fisher & Co are heading for a shock. Why did they come back from Northampton do you think? Would they have come back if 7000 were going?

If 7000 were going and Wasps were not interested then we would still be there and ACL would be in its death throws.
If no one had gone we would have been back within days.

Well Northampton was the last nail for a lot of people.
That above everything anyone has done to City was the most damaging.
We still haven't recovered.
